Bahia Vik Jose Ignacio

This is the most special place. The entire staff went out of their way to make me feel welcomed and comfortable. The room, cuisine, and service were all perfect. Special mention to Jose Maria Toto who is the greatest concierge, and the wonderful manager Lucia Nieves.

Beautiful property (but not rooms), convenient location, great service from hotel staff, but it is not luxurious enough for the price and the concierge service needs severe improvement. Our experience with the concierge was disappointing enough to drop a potential 5 star review to 3 stars. The hotel’s experience guide offers an 8pm wine tasting that we reserved. The itinerary they made us also confirmed 8pm. At 7pm that day, they messaged us to ask if we were coming because it was about to begin… they managed to book it for 7pm even though all of their own information said 8pm. We were busy elsewhere so we couldn’t make it. They did offer to reschedule, but the mistake left a bad taste in our mouths. We also reserved a 12:30 olive oil tour through them. Their information said “Starting/ending point, Vik Jose Ignacio”, but we did not get any more details leading up to the tour. At 11:00 the day of the tour, we found out they had NOT arranged transportation… so we ended up having to drive ourselves, 2 hours round trip… and they charged us the full price even though transportation should have been included according to their own “Starting/ending point, Vik Jose Ignacio”. It was their first time offering the olive oil tour as part of their experiences (clearly), and the coordination was a huge flop, and their attitude about it the whole thing being a “misunderstanding” was not right. Luckily, the olive oil tour (Olivos de Las Animas) was SO worth it. We are so happy we were able to take ourselves there, but Bahia Vik’s concierge needs to do much, much better. Hopefully they fix their mistake and continue to offer it to guests. The property is beautiful with the pool and beach, but the room we booked was not nearly worth the price. The decor was… highly questionable, and the entire bathroom was a slip hazard. Other than that, our stay was really great. Bahia Vik held a Valentine’s Day dinner that was phenomenal and incredibly reasonably priced - we loved chatting with the staff and the food was incredible. Same with the Estancia Vik Gran Asador - unique barbeque and they have lovely staff there as well. And the hotel being next to La Susana was perfect (except at night if we wanted to sleep before the party ended). All in all, the treatment from the hotel staff made our stay wonderful, but the poor concierge experience was enough to make us not want to return here again.

Service Good, place is beautiful. Rooms are good as well. However I feel it is expensive for what it is. Breakfast included but just few options. To go to town we had to get their transfers and that is expensive as well.

This was a family trip to celebrate a big birthday. The hotel is located on a beach and has a nice layout of rooms with terraces and a main building. Plus a big building that we didn’t fully understand at the start of our visit. The setting is pleasant but not wonderful and the staff were nice and friendly, however in 4 days there we did not meet a senior person, nobody asked how things were or offered us guidance. The pool and the gardens are very agreeable for all of our stay it was quiet and very pleasant to spend time there.||Then on the last night what would have been a nice stay in an ok hotel was spoiled. As we sat down for a quiet dinner on our last night, a rowdy group of people appeared in the restaurant and made it impossible for us to stay we had to leave without eating. The staff were overrun and embarrassed but no help. We had found out what the big building was - an event centre.||As we left I had long WhatsApp exchanges with Lucia who appeared to be senior and I also had a phone call with her boss. They were both keen to express regret for what had happened but didn’t really listen to the 2 points that stayed with me. Firstly that the rooms are not practical, there was nowhere other than the floor to put a suitcase. Secondly that the event space and a quiet beach hotel did not make for a good mix.

The location, service, food, and overall ambiance is spectacular. Each person I encountered went above and beyond to fulfill any need that I had. The location is so unique being a hotel actually on the beach. José Ignacio is quite exclusive and expensive, so yes, things are not cheap. But I feel as if the costs were absolutely worth the experience I had here. I cannot wait to return.

The hotel is a nice architectural modern and contemporary structure , seafront located with an exceptionally nice view . The rooms are located in units of three rooms aligned buildings some between the dunes , steps away from the shore with nice view . It is a very romantic place to be with beautiful view . The rooms however are furnished with furnitures of modern design resembling a bit some hotels cartoons style not really convenient or useful . Our room , and also the room next door (occupied by other guests had a strong smell of humidity quite unpleasant and at time during the day strong sewers smell really unpleasant for an hotel 5 stars ! We and also the other guests made the staff notice it and they just ignored our complain . The staff of the hotel is limited and although gentle , appeared to be of professional level doing the minimum to pay attention to the costumer . We had to get the luggage’s in by our self at the check out of the room . In the room there is not phone to call the concierge , and no television either . Minimum bar drinks . |The bathroom is well equipped, but the shower has no glass perimeter , which resulted in wetting the entire place every shower . Not pleasant . |The staff at the restaurant is not professional we had to chase several time the waiter for the table needs. |We had not the feeling to be in a 5 stars hotel resulting to be the most expensive of the area , and we will not return .

Avoid this place. Over priced, horrible service, the concierge did not respond then confirmed items for dinner and the spa that were not correct when we arrived, the chairs by the pool were unusable they were so uncomfortable. We stay at a lot of $800-1000 a night places and this should be a $250 a night room. The room was a mess, water stains on walls, trim falling off, clogged drains, etc. When we went to checkout they tried charging for extras on top of it.

Staff here dealt with the aftermath of the fire at the next door La Susanah extremely well and we had a last minute move for one night at Estancia Vik which we enjoyed and were kept informed all the time. On our return to Bahia Vik we were given a wonderful bungalow room upgrade which we loved, with super comfy bed and woke every morning to the sound of the sea. Staff offer to set up sun beds and umbrellas on the beach but we loved laying by the pools the most with a cool breeze. Pancakes at breakfast delicious with excellent coffee and croissants too.|Only a 24 minute walk to La Huella where we dined on the beach both at lunch and dinner but staff also secured us bookings at other restaurants ( loved the romantic juana cocina especially ) and both dropped us off and picked us up after dinner. |Great hotel choice for José ignacio with a slick team. |A phone/ walk-in talkie in the room of some kind could be helpful to communicate with reception and good for emergencies and a blue tooth speaker would be our only suggestions to further enhance a fabulous stay.
