Bahia Vik Jose Ignacio

This was a disappointing stay for the price point. The positives: the staff is very friendly, the art is amusing, the yoga and gym amenities were great, and the resort overall is truly beautiful. However, the basics like service are an afterthought and poor. There is no beach service. They will set up very uncomfortable “chairs” and an umbrella for you and that’s it. Allegedly there is pool service but at no point did anyone ask us if we wanted anything and if we got someone’s attention and did order something, it never came. Service was also very slow overall. Also, we filled out an initial survey about a week before our stay and we’re not sure what the point of it was. It was never followed up on. Lastly, they made a point when checking into our room to tell us that while it appears the shower will get water everywhere (there is no enclosure), it won’t. That is false. Water will get everywhere on the bathroom floor. This was our first time in Jose Ignacio, and we can’t say if another resort or hotel would be better, but this was our experience.

Bahia Vik is a really beautiful and luxurious experience. The place located right at the beach with gorgeous views of the village of Jose Ignacio and sand dunes. At this time of the year is perfect to enjoy the views while reading, walking thru the beach and all along the cost filled with amazing size rocks. You can also go bicycle riding all around and discover the gorgeous town of Jose Ignacio. Buffet breakfast in Bahia Vik is a really tasty experience of fresh fruits, juices, delicious pastries, sandwiches, croissants, great coffee and tea selection. For those keen on exercise and movement Bahia Vik offers yoga, pilates and strength gym, a complete experience not to be missed!

I’ve stayed in high end luxury hotels and this by far doesn’t fit in that category . The rooms have all the charm of a barren mausoleum. The cafeteria style dining room could have been designed for a grade school. Breakfast service and offerings were abysmal. What I don’t understand is how they have the nerve to charge these prices for what best is a mid level property. Don’t understand the hype at all and have to wonder if the five star reviews are legitimate. Great view but you can see that for free on the beach. In the rooms, the foliage blocks your view of the ocean.

We cannot get back to Bahia Vik fast enough. We had an incredible experience. The Vik’s were present and very friendly which added to the experience. We met friends, made friends and it was just wonderful.

The entire team reflected her positive spirit and professionalism.||We left Bahia Vik feeling relaxed, inspired, and already planning our next visit. Highly recommended for anyone seeking luxury, comfort, and authentic Uruguayan warmth in José Ignacio.

This stay came with high anticipation due to the reputation of the resort. Even with such a high bar they managed to exceed our expectations. The staff was as good as it cane gets. Our room was unique and made you just want to stay in. That is saying something with the pleasant environment of the rest of the resort. The food was good, the location right on the beach made it so easy to enjoy. From the moment Toto greeted us in the parking lot until they loaded our bags, back in our car, it was a great stay. I suggest you take advantage of the access to the two other close properties, nearby, your stay will provide and take lunch or view their respective art collections.
