This was my first time trying Thai food, and everything we had was good. We ordered several different appetizers and liked all of them. We were a party of 17, and the food came out fairly quickly, though it was served in sections. The noise level was comfortable, and it was easy to hear everyone at our table. The decorations were very pretty and fit the theme of the restaurant well. The iced Thai tea was a big hit with most of the table. My only complaint was the bathroom setup. You had to get a key from the front desk to unlock a bathroom with three stalls. If someone else had the key, you had to wait until they were finished.

The interior is so beautiful, and the owner couple, who are always there, are incredibly kind. The food is always delicious, and even the flowers outside the restaurant are so pretty🌸 This is one of my most frequently visited restaurants in Fairbanks, and it never disappoints! If you love Thai food, I highly recommend this place.

BEST THAI FOOD IN ALASKA!! The food was so good we got Pad See Eww , Tom Yum soup, and Spicy Catfish (came with a huge serving of rice enough for the three of us)! The Pad See Eww was so yummy the sauce and the noodles were perfect and chewy and fresh in all the dishes the veggies were perfectly cooked and coated in the delicious sauce like they made veggies taste good that impressive!! The Spicy Catfish is as so good MY FAVORITE, we got this in medium spicy (we got everything medium spicy) so delicate the catfish melt in your mouth and was paired perfectly with the sauce they cook it in!! Lastly the Tom Yum soup was amazing and had a great flavor served warm was the perfect dish to tie everything together!! Also the place was decorated so well and very clean and loved all the artwork in the restaurant! It seems like a local favorite because it was busy people were coming in continuously and to go orders flying out! 10/10 would recommend this place! AND omg the dishes that the food was served in was SO NICE the catfish in a FISH SHAPED BOWL like WOW so amazing!!

Google
Came here after 2 other restaurants turned us away and WOW the food here was incredible! Fresh wild caught salmon in sweet and sour sauce was delicious! I couldn't get enough of the halibut egg rolls either. Highly recommend this place. Service was a tad slow, but they were very busy and packed so it was understandable.

Google
The restaurant has a nice asian feel to it and has a good vareity of items to choose from in the menu. They are a bit short staffed and yet the service is fast enough. We ordered their salmon fry and a prawn based curry. The proportions were very generous and food was tasty, although a bit more sweet than actual thai cuisine. But it was still worth it, and will definitely recommend a visit if you are in town and looking for thai food.

If you ever come to Alaska, you absolutely must try this Thai restaurant. I'm a Chinese person who doesn't usually like trying different cuisines, but this restaurant is fantastic in every aspect. I highly recommend it!

Google
Extremely Disappointing Experience, Twice I rarely write reviews, but this place compelled me to write one because of how shockingly poor the hospitality was. This was the first restaurant we visited in Fairbanks on the day we landed. We were exhausted and hungry. When we arrived, they told us the restaurant “closes at 4.” We assumed, as most people would, that the kitchen closes at 4. Instead, they served a full order for four people and then five minutes later asked us to pack up all the food and leave because they meant the entire restaurant closes at 4. If we were expected to be out by 4 sharp, why accept and serve an order minutes before? It made no sense and set the tone for what was to come. Despite this odd start, the food was decent, so we gave them another chance before leaving Fairbanks — and this visit was even worse. We asked multiple times for condiments. Not only did the staff refuse to refill them, they told us to “finish what’s already in the cups first” before they would even consider bringing more. After that, they avoided eye contact and simply ignored us. When we left a zero-dollar tip due to the poor service, the server confronted us and asked what went wrong. We calmly explained about the repeated requests for condiments being ignored. His response shocked us — he said he remembered us from the previous visit and then told us: “Don’t bother to come back.” When we replied that this isn’t a way to treat customers, he escalated and said: “I don’t give a _“ To add to all of this, I found it unbelievable that the server behaved as though receiving a tip was his right. Restaurants often display signs saying they have the right to deny service to anyone — similarly, customers have every right to deny a tip when the service is genuinely poor. Tips are earned, not owed. I have never experienced a restaurant with such blatant disrespect, entitlement, and lack of basic hospitality. There are plenty of warm, welcoming places in Fairbanks — this is absolutely not one of them. Avoid if you expect even minimal courtesy or professionalism.

Google
A surprising and delightful find in Fairbanks- a wonderful bowl of Tom kha to warm up as you step inside from sub zero cold. Traditional decor makes it very pleasant, bright lit up place makes it a relaxed venue. Great service. All of the food was very delicious and truly enjoyable. Most of their curries have shrimp base which was a little disappointing but truly appreciate the server’s honesty for telling us about the base. I hope they soon support portable POS so your card never leaves you. Busy street even on winter days so parking can be hard but we took Lyft. Definitely recommended, and I will go again when I am in Fairbanks the next time.

Yelp
Food is fantastic. Very authentic and reasonably priced. They told us upfront that the service was slow. Best to manage expectations. It really wasn't slow although they told us it would be

Yelp
Food was delicious! Was recommended by a local :) bottom left: Preaw Wan Plasweet and sour salmon - salmon was a little overcooked imo. its just like sweet and sour chicken! right: green curry with salmon - a special of the day I believe, but super good! it comes with a portion of rice. the salmon with the curry is super tasty. top: Tom kha - this one is more creamy and coconuty (it's a coconut milk broth). If you're a fan of creamy soups this is a rec! it's a little spicy (like barely any) Service was okay for how many people were in the restaurant. The inside is well decorated and has quite some seating.

Yelp
Great food. Lovely restaurant with music at just the right level. Super service too! We had beef pad Thai, stir fry vegetables and veggie egg rolls. All really good! Would eat here again.
google avatar

Yelp
Service was very attentive and the atmosphere was authentic. The crag Rangoons were a little bland and egg rolls were maybe slightly above average. Massaman curry medium spicy was pretty hot but good. The pad cashew was wonderful but medium spicy was closer to mild. Chicken fried rice was good all in all a very nice Thai place in downtown Fairbanks.

Brian B.

Yelp
Excellent Thai food in a beautiful setting in downtown Fairbanks. Ordered the ginger with chicken and it was delicious. Thai iced tea is a great value compared to home. Service was quick and efficient.

Yelp
This place has one of the best customer service in Fairbanks hands down! We arrived at 8:50pm and they close at 9 but still let the 4 of us sit and dine in. We placed the order before we arrived though. A Thai restaurant nearby that closes at 9 had their door locked at 8:30pm itself! Weird.. parking can be challenging on the roadside so you might have to look around a bit before you get lucky. The ambiance was traditional and warm. Actually very beautiful. The panang curry with tofu I ordered was rich in flavour and I got a side of brown rice with it instead of regular jasmine as they ran out of it. The Thai green tea was something new and I really really loved it. Something I insist you try. My husband ordered the chicken panang curry, friends ordered pad Thai tofu and pineapple fried rice with tofu and I tasted all of it and everything was top notch. Will visit again when I'm in Fairbanks.

Yelp
Absolutely slaps. Crazy fast service too. This is the beef red curry, egg rolls, and chicken pad kee mao. Must try!!!
google avatar

Cashea S.

Yelp
The egg rolls were great! They claim to be the best you've ever had and they aren't far off. The only thing I would change would be to have a pork option. The chicken wasn't bad, but I do love some pork egg rolls. You also get 5 full egg rolls split into 10, for $10. It's not bad given the taste and amount. The pad Thai was delicious, but it absolutely needed more spice. Otherwise, it was something I would order again. Service was incredible and the restaurant itself was nice and clean and well spaced. You don't feel like you are on top of other tables.

Yelp
Amazing thai food! We had the following dishes: - Tom Kha soup: 10/10 Loved very flavour in it. Always a favourite soup in any thai restaurant. - Hello Salmon: 8/10. A little on the sweeter side. Salmon was fresh and it had loads of veggies. Spice level 3 was perfect. - Fried rice: 10/10. Took spice level 4 and it was very spicy. Although it was spicy it was delicious. - Red curry with Shrimp: 10/10 A must try. Took spice level 3 and it was perfect for us. - Green curry with Tofu and veggies - 10/10 It was the perfect green curry I have tried so far There is parking on the street. Servers were very friendly. Overall it was a great dining experience.

Yelp
Come visit Fairbanks during new year. We decided to eat in this Thai restaurant and we are so satisfied with the hot and delicious food, warm and cozy environment, and excellent service. Highly recommended!

Doug B.

Yelp
Everyone's raving about this place. I don't see what the big deal is. It was ok, but was definitely not amazing. The server was nice, the floor was sloping off to one side, and the food was ok.
google avatar

Chris S.

Yelp
Not terrible but not great either. Noodles were very over cooked. Parking is minimal.
google avatar

Paul W.

Yelp
Wow, I wasn't expecting such great Thai food in the Alaskan interior. The red curry with salmon was very nicely spiced. The Pad Thai was as good as anything I get at home in California. The service was outstanding. I never managed to empty my water glass in five tries.

Yelp
This has been the most authentic Thai food my family and I have had in Fairbanks! We were excited to try Thai food here since everyone was recommending it but other restaurants had us disappointed. We're from Myanmar so we visit thailand often and are very familiar with good Thai food. The interior itself was beautiful and service was nice. Highly recommend this place !!

Julie S.

Yelp
Great consistently good food and super nice staff. They are very understaffed like most places so be patient.
google avatar

Uyen N.

Yelp
Pretty good Thai food overall. Tom kha and pad thai are delicious. The salmon dish is a little disappointing with very little salmon, mostly just veggie. The restaurant is pretty spacious with nice interior design.

Yelp
Authentic Thai Food in a beautiful atmosphere. The owner was warm and welcoming. Conveniently located in the heart of downtown.

Yelp
The food was good, the setting and atmosphere were fantastic, but the staff and service are what really made this place outstanding. Our meal here was the highlight of all the meals we had here, including in comparison to Latitude 65 (overpriced, under-delivered) and the restaurant at Chena Hot Springs (food quality was meh). Our family of 13 visited from SF, and we were craving Asian food after eating only American food for the past couple days --but I promise that's not a bias factor. This was actually my "back up" restaurant; my first option was closed and this place was also close to downtown. So I didn't know what to expect coming in. Well, I walk in and the place is amazingly decorated. Whoever owns this place clearly put a ton of thought, time, and effort to make their guests feel welcome. I went ahead of the group in case there was a wait and asked for seating for 8 pple. Our server quickly got the menus placed and water poured for ALL the guests even before they had walked in. But to my surprise, a couple more family members had decided to tag along than I expected so I awkwardly had to ask for us to be moved to a bigger table. I totally expected the server to be at least a little annoyed (she had just poured 8 water glasses and laid out 8 menus!), but she was so so nice and understanding. She even chatted us up and we learned she is Thai-Chinese! We got settled and picked out a bunch of dishes. Everything was delicious and flavorful, esp the crab rangoon appetizer that she recommended. Their dishes do favor the sweeter side, esp their drinks. But I have a sweet tooth so it was perfect for me. I wish I could come back again but we're back in SF at this point. I would've loved to chat further with our lovely servers who were the absolutely best and learn more about them and how they came to Alaska. Thanks for giving us fond memories along with our meal!

Yelp
Very good. Soup and entree were delicious. Servers were attentive. We were pleased with our decision to eat here.

Yelp
Visiting Fairbanks and heard from our Aurora viewing tour guide that the town is known for Thai food. Naturally this led us to Bahn's. The inside decor is beautiful and very ornate, the service was also very attentive, they refilled our waters about three times. We got the fried rice with chicken and their tofu pad thai, as well as curry puffs as an appetizer. Everything was delicious. The fried rice also had large chunks of tomato, which added a slightly sour brightness to the dish. The pad thai used two kinds of tofu, a soft tofu in big chunks, and a more firm tofu in little chunks in the dish. The curry puffs had a mix of curry powder, potato and chicken in them and were fried beautifully. All in all a very good meal with great service, would definitely recommend.

Yelp
1. The food is terrible. The beef is over cooked. The rice tasted like powder 2. The waiting time is too long. I called them for 3 dishes take out. They said it will be ready in 25 minutes. I waited for 1 hour and 14 minutes for the food. 3 when checking the food status with the manager, she had a very bad attitude. Strongly not recommended. Even though the interior is better, it is worse than another Thai food restaurant, Noodle House that is 3 blocks away. Noodle House is much better.

Yelp
Struggling to find a place to eat in downtown fairbanks we found Bahn Thai. As we walked in it was typical looking decor with an Asian flare. As we were seated we were not welcomed but instead told "we close soon... order fast". Now if there was any other place to eat we would have left but we were hungry. We ordered fast and received are food in record speed. I had the Drunken Noodles at top spice level. The heat was good, the veggies were cooked perfectly, but the shrimp and calamari were booth way overcooked. Dana had the Pork Rad Na. The pork was dry, the gravy salty (both were clearly end of the day product), but once again, the veggies were perfect. The atmosphere was ok until they started closing around us, and the even vacuumed underneath us as we were eating. After many stares and yelling from the kitchen, there were obvious signs that we needed to leave, we paid our bill and left. In our future visits to downtown Fairbanks, we did not give them another shot. The service ruined everything. Sadly, my guess is that normally they are pretty good. The portions were huge and the product was decent quality but it tasted like they trough everything in at the same time and cooked until the vegetables were done. Taste 6/10 Presentation 8/10 Quality cost 8/10 Service 4/10 Ambiance 6/10 v 32/40 = 3.2 = 3 star

Yelp
Fabulous traditional Thai Food in downtow Fairbanks .... worth the trip to Fairbanks!!

Yelp
This was the best restaurant we visited on our 8 day trip. The food was phenomenal and the service was amazing. Our waitress was so sweet and she recognized us from the day before when we got dinner there the first time. If I could rewind our trip and have every meal here I definitely would. The decor is beautiful and makes the meal that much more enjoyable. If I come back to Fairbanks then I'm coming here first thing.

Yelp
My Dad and I ordered the chicken fried rice and really enjoyed it. My wife had the eggplant yum and she absolutely loved it. She said it is the best she has ever had! My mom had Pad Cashew and said it was very good. The staff was very friendly and welcoming, it's definitely worth trying.
google avatar

Shōn D.

Yelp
I enjoyed my meal. It was "today only" special Lamb Bassil Stur- Fry. Was a bit sweet though. I'm sure they would honor my request to make it less sweet next time.

Judah P.

Yelp
This became my favorite Thai restaurant on earth as soon as I came in! The beautiful ladies working are the nicest people you'll meet in Fairbanks! The absolute best service out there. My food was so good and very spicy, the nice waitress gave me a Thai iced tea on the house because my eyes were watering. 11/10!
google avatar

Yelp
Fantastic. We eat thai food all over the world. Authentic, atmosphere, decor and hospitality. All my favorite dishes. best restaurant in fairbanks by far.

Yelp
HAVE AGAIN: Halibut special curry was very good but the halibut pieces were too thin. Delicious Thai iced tea
google avatar

Kate M.

Yelp
My husband and I were really pleasantly surprised by Bahn Thai. It's legit. We had the Tom Yum soup and Pad Thai and both were excellent, the perfect blend of sweet, sour, and savory. The service was great and the decor is super cute too. Would definitely go again.
google avatar

Colleen D.

Yelp
Best Thai food I've had in a super long time. Red Curry was super flavorful. The pad-cashew was delicious. The Spring-Rolls were fresh and bouncy. The Tom Kha soup was sweet and sour like it should be. My only complaint is about the rice. The menu states that it is Jasmin rice, but it was really just some overcooked short grain white rice, which was super disappointing, cuz rice at an Asian restaurant should be perfectly cooked.
google avatar

Sharon P.

Yelp
First time having halibut egg rolls, when in Alaska you've gotta have fish if some sort. This Thai spot was recommended as a favorite of my dinner guest and I can confirm it is quite good. Besides the halibut spring rolls (I've never seen these on a menu before here), the menu is typical of most Thai restaurants. Fresh everything, curries, veggies, teas, crying something this, sticky fruity that, rice options and everything in between. All delicious. I loved the decor; the tile ceiling was impressive and the hanging flower baskets were bursting with live spring flowers. We sat by the window so I could take in their glory. The wine list is a welcome new addition and a work in progress. Another establishment with terrific service. Street parking. Worth a visit.
google avatar

Trudy B.

Yelp
This was a surprise find. We were just driving around and this place had good reviews so we tried it....it did not disappoint. In fact, it was some of the best Thai I've had. It was robust with flavors, good portions, very quick service, and price was right. Definitely going back!
google avatar

Petch S.

Yelp
From native Thai, this restaurant is very authentic. Excellent food and service. The portion is also very big. Four of us (all skipped lunch and extremely hungry) ordered one appetizer, one salad (Yum Woon Sen), three main dishes...we were completely stuffed! We loved everything there.
google avatar

Mariam W.

Yelp
Amazing restaurant!!!! Best place we went to in Fairbanks hands down. Ambience is so calming, service is impeccable and the food is amazing. We liked it so much we went 2 days in a row! All of their curries are awesome and medium spicy is the best balance of spice in our opinion. We also loved their halibut spring rolls. Definitely try this place - best restaurant in Fairbanks.
google avatar

Diane B.

Yelp
Yes, I'm a food snob. Yes, I've had Thai food in some great places in NYC, Denver, SF, DC... but Bahn Thai in downtown Fairbanks blew them all away! Roast Duck Curry?! Mind-blowing! Avocado Curry? Never heard of it, but it was unusual AND extraordinary! Pad See Ew with Tofu had so many complex flavors & textures I couldn't stop! Their Tom Ka Soup was a riot of flavors and the Tom Palay (seafood salad) was chock full of giant shrimp, scallops & squid! If you love Thai Food, don't miss this! And, if you think you don't like Thai food, try their Pad Thai... You'll be a convert!
google avatar

Raych X.

Yelp
Loved this Thai restaurant. We had chicken satay, green curry, and a red curry. The portions were better then Lemongrass and Nim's house of Thai. Both curries had more veggies and better tasting according to our party of three. Ambiance is nice and friendly staff. We will be back!
google avatar

Kaustav B.

Yelp
You have to come here for the food and the authentic ambience. We had fresh spring rolls, pad thai, drunken noodles, tom kha and green curry with sea bass. Absolutely amazing tasting food.
google avatar

Danielle B.

Yelp
I work in the same building as this restaurant and we order from it often. Not because of convenience. Only because it's so good!! The cashew chicken is my favorite. The ladies are so friendly. The food is fresh, hot, fast and delicious. I definitely recommend trying this restaurant.

Lia G.

Yelp
Stopped by for a quick lunch after reading great reviews! I can say it was amazing and the reviews do not disappoint. The service was quick and servers were very friendly. The restaurant is very authentic and is well decorated. We had two dishes and an appetizer and it was all very tasty. I'd definitely return on my next visit!

P G.

Yelp
Overpriced and overcooked food. I bought the same dishes two weeks ago at the Express restaurant and paid $7 less for each dish. Something is not right about this.
google avatar

Steve S.

Yelp
Wow, what a great place - and it's in Fairbanks! We started with crab Rangoon and egg rolls. The crab Rangoon is crispy and the sauce is delicious. The egg rolls are soft and also delicious with hints of cilantro. I had the Pad Gra Phrao with seafood. Wow! Scallops, squid and shrimp. Oooooo.
google avatar

Kirstin B.

Yelp
We were in town for just a day and decided to have Thai. The food here is incredible ! We had the yellow curry and the green curry with halibut (a special). They were extremely flavorful. The yellow curry had warm spices and the green curry was a bright and refreshing spice. Highly recommend! Too bad are just here for the one night. Thank you for a great meal and fast, friendly service!
google avatar

Fanny C.

Yelp
The food was great and affordable. After spending a few days on food in Alaska, we where sick of expensive and American fare. We decided to switch it up with some sort of Asian food. This place was close to us and I'm a great location. I immediately noticed the decor was opulent but with good taste. The decor even matched with their menus. We order the spring rolls and red curry special with halibut. I shared it with my boyfriend. The curry was a great portion for sharing. The dipping sauce for the spring rolls was amazing! I highly recommend this spot!
google avatar

Yelp
What a wonderful thai restaurant. I never would have suspected all the good Thai food in Alaska is hiding away in the interior. I came here after a day working in North Pole. The restaurant was supposed to open at 4, but there was a closed until 5 sign on the door. Once 5 approached the restaurant staff arrived and I was quickly seated by the window. I decided to start with the chicken satay, the satay sauce was chunky but absolutely delicious. For my main course I had chicken pad soi sian, which was absolutely delicious. It was very similar to my favorite dish on Seattle called pad woon sen, this dish features the same wonderful silver noodles. The sauce for the dish is a little heavier, but still delicious. I was slightly worried when the waitress told me that the minimum heat I could get would be "medium" however this medium is just like the two stars I would have elsewhere. Next time I have a hankering for Thai food and I am in Fairbanks, I am totally coming here.
google avatar

Jeff C.

Yelp
Had takeout dinner here for the first time. Had the Sha Sha Duck.... Outstanding!!! I'll be back for sure.
google avatar

Grace V.

Yelp
I was so amazed by the flowers outside that I forgot to take a picture of my plate. The front door is through a main building door. The staff was so friendly. The food was delicious and the portion were huge. We were able to split one plate and was satisfied. We ordered the drunken noodles and the flavor and ingredients were fresh. Would highly recommend.

Yelp
Always delicious and a favorite for us. I order the red curry with beef. The chunks of zucchini are amazing. Rice is very fragrant. My favorite Thai restaurant in Fairbanks. (All the Bahn Thai locations have been fantastic!)

Michelle P.

Yelp
This is a lovely place, an older look in the older downtown of Fairbanks. We walked the 2.6 miles from our hotel into the downtown to find a good non-hotel dinner, wanting to avoid the classic modern hotel restaurant experience of mediocre food at premium prices. Laurie and I had not enjoyed a good Thai dinner in a long time, and decided to try Bahn Thai. I'm glad we did. Laurie ordered a red curry with extra pork and white rice, and I ordered the Panang curry with tofu and brown rice. We ordered chicken egg rolls as an appetizer. These came with the delicious house sweet and sour sauce, and were crisp and fresh. The curries, at "hot" were excellent, not enough to break out a forehead sweat but more than enough to get our noses itching. ;) Very enjoyable dinner, very good friendly service.

Yelp
Came for dinner on a Tuesday night. The restaurant is beautifully decorated and very spacious. The staff are friendly and efficient. The food is delicious. I wanted to order some appetizers, but I knew I wouldn't be able to eat it all. So, my friend and I ordered an entree each. Tofu pad Thai and an order of Preaw Wan Pla (Sweet & sour fish) I chose the halibut. Both dishes were great portions and delicious.
