Always the most delicious food served to us here. We tend to order the following every time we visit: Tom Kah soup with chicken, crab rangoon and either pineapple fried rice, basil friend rice or one of the specials that they advertise on their chalk board. We have never had a bad dish. The soup is amazing! Order it, you won’t be disappointed.

Bahn Thai was closing in 8 minutes. I called in an order. I live 6 minutes away. I would have made it in time had I ordered from the right location. The owner was going to go to the other location to pick up the meal to bring it to me. And on top of this, the other restaurant stayed open until I arrived, 3 minutes past closing. If for nothing else...5 🌟 My first time here. The chili sauce is so good I bought a jar and couldn't wait to try it on pizza. And it is freakin' tongue tantalizing. Also a hit on avocado toast. Yes, I did actually purchase two dishes- vegan Pad Thai with tofu and drunken noodles with beef. The drunken noodles were tasty but sober (dry). I've had more inebriated noodles. The beef was tender enough and I have braces. The Pad Thai was perfectly prepared and seasoned. The tofu was crisp on the outside with seasoning and soft on the inside. Each dish could comfortably feed 2.25 people. There are other dishes, flavors and spices created here that may be uncommon or not existent in other Thai eateries but highly recommended. Fifth Avenue location is stunningly inviting and open. Parking is street metered and free 8 pm or later. Yes, 8 not 6 pm. Four spots in front of the restaurant (2 handicapped) (2 pick up orders). I would suggest this place to tourists and locals

Google
Bahn Thai is good Thai food and there's really no other way to say it. Each entree is well made, piping hot when served, and the seating is spaciand ample. Be aware that if you order the fire cracker chicken it is VERY hot. A different spice level is used. There is a front patio and somewhat hidden back patio you may discover on the way to the restroom.

First time here, and we would go again! The service was quick even though they were fairly busy. Prices are average for Thai food in this area. The food itself was good, I had drunken noodles (in photo) and my wife had Pad Thai. Hers was much better than mine. What I really liked, and this is more uncommon, was how spicy they made it for me! I like my spicy foods to taste like pain and they really came though! I've had many other restaurants around that were underwhelming in spicy, no matter how much I requested it. Another thing is I wish they served you on plates. All they have is plastic to-go containers. Seems wasteful and at this price point (for dining in) a bit under par. Overall the flavor of my drunken noodles was a bit bland and I wouldn't order it again but the pad Thai was delicious and we enjoyed the environment of the restaurant and will return!

Google
Simply authentic and delicious. If you’re looking for one of the best Thai restaurants in San Diego, this place is it. The noodles are cooked to perfection, and there’s a good balance of sweet, salt, spice and acid. The proteins were tender and were melting in my mouth, it’s that good. It may not look like the portions are big, but trust me, one plate will get you so full. The spice level is also just right. I got a level 2 spice and the dishes were still enjoyable. I also love the outdoor patio and interior decor. It’s inviting, refreshing and just a great place to hang out, eat and take a break from the sweltering heat. If you want a great reminder of the beauty of Thai cuisine, this place is it. You won’t regret it.

Google
A friend of mine calls this her favorite Thai spot in all of San Diego. It's taking me a few years but I finally tried it one afternoon on my way through North Park. It did not disappoint and let me just say I'm sad for all the time I've wasted not eating their food 🤣 The North Park location currently has outdoor dining & to go, with no inside seating and no bathrooms. I ordered the chicken satay with a side of steamed veggies, the Tom Ka soup (a hidden gem), and a vegan (yay!!) Thai tea. Phenomenal. They were able to accommodate us in regard to dietary restrictions too. We called ahead to ask about food allergies and cross contact and they took extra caution in preparing the entrees that we ordered without any issues. They were also familiar enough with their menu items to know which items had the allergens we were trying to avoid and offer suggestions of what would work. We appreciate that they are allergy friendly & willing to work with you!! I'm already planning my next visit!!

Google
This location is much better than the other one at Park Blvd in terms of good amount of seating. This place is unbeatable when it comes to Thai food in SD. We had panang curry and pad Thai both with tofu and they were lip smacking. Rich in taste and decent quantity. One thing I do not like is they serve in plastic to go boxes also for dine in. I understand they could have potentially started for COVID reasons, but definitely it isn’t an ecofriendly option. For food, 10/10 for both locations. Highly recommend.

Google
Visiting from Belgium. Outdoor seating in the front and the back. They give it to you as takeaway but you can eat there just not inside. Friendly staff and the place is quite busy. It’s not the best Thai I’ve had but it’s good. My biggest complaint is the amount of lettuce and cabbage they put in our dishes. We both ordered our own laab and papaya salad spicy level. Should’ve got the laab spicier but the papaya salad spice level was perfect.

Yelp
Flavors bold and bright Spices build, then linger long Waking up the mind Packed with care (and heat) Aromas sealed, travels well Freshness holds its place Parking takes some luck But a quick stop does the trick Worth it every time

Yelp
Love the Tom Ka soup, the lemongrass chicken, the panang curry, the crab ragoons. Everything here is so delicious! This is our absolute favorite Thai place ever!

Yelp
I love the original Bahn Thai so I was excited to see this second location nearby where I was getting my nails done. I knew I had to pick up lunch here and my pad see ew was just as good as I expected it to be. I was bummed when I heard this location was temporarily closed due to a fire, but I'm relieved to see that it's scheduled to reopen again. We all need more Bahn Thai in our lives. Now if only they'd expand to other neighborhoods in San Diego, like Mira Mesa (hint, hint!).

Yelp
Finally!! A good Thai place! We both thoroughly enjoyed this place as well as the friendly service. The pad Thai was delicious, the yellow curry was super flavorful w/ properly cooked potatoes, the Tom kha was tasty. The chicken satay was not bad but the sauce was good. We will most definitely be back.

Yelp
TL;DR: no frills, tasty Thai dishes served quickly in takeout containers - great for quick bites and lazy-cooking days Order: - Choo Chee fish curry (3.5/5): This was a really flavorful red curry. That said, we were a little disappointed in how little fish actually came with the curry - ymmv. - Drunken Noodles (3/5): some of the noodles tasted a bit undercooked but still a good carb base Overall, happy with how quick and efficient the ordering process was to get the food to us asap. Will be back for the quick Thai fix Cheers, Bahn Thai

Yelp
Finally found a place that has the perfect about of *SPICY* heat to add to a dish. Never could find a spot that would make their dishes hot enough when asking to make it spicy, but look no longer!! I'll easily be coming back here! Ordered for pick up the shrimp pad Thai for lunch, spicy (level 3) and it was perfect! Walked over and was ready within 15 mins. The women who rang me up was also very kind and welcoming. Can't wait to try out more dishes at an even hotter level!

Yelp
Food (5/5 stars): Highs - loved their Pad Thai. It was very flavorful and had the perfect amount of sauce. Highly recommend! Lows - none! Experience (4/5 stars): * Price: reasonable * Wait Time: minimal wait on a Saturday at 11:30am * Service: good * Parking: street parking can be difficult * Ambiance: very nice and modern outdoor seating area

Yelp
The food here is amazing. The flavors are popping and the portions are perfect. Each of our dishes were cooked to perfection. We had to wait over 30 minutes to get our food and there are only a few (about 4) small tables outside. It's first come first served, so we had to stand like vultures to get a table after a family finished their meal. You order inside and either take it home or wait for an available spot outside. For ambiance, it's small inside with no seating. The food is excellent. I have 4 stars because of how challenging it was to sit and eat.

Yelp
Green Curry with Tofu, Pad See Ew with Chicken, Crab Fried Rice, and Roasted Duck Curry Everything was perfect and wonderfully flavorful. Green curry here is my favorite thing, and I'm not even much of a curry person. Entire family loved all the dishes, so glad this place is so close to work!

Yelp
I love Bahn Thai, and this location even more! I gave the other Bahn a five star as well, but this location is better in my opinion. The food is fire, like the other spot, but Hillcrest has better parking and the interior is far more nice. It's VERY nice! I took my food to-go, but I would love to dine in. Hihgly recommend anything on the menu, specifically the noodle dishes (pad Thai is fire), and the tom kha soup. I will undoubtedly be back here repeatedly.

Yelp
The best thai food ever!!! My boyfriend and I are hooked and always come back here whenever we crave thai food :D

Yelp
This is actually the best Thai restaurant I've had in recent memory. I even prefer it to Sala Thai, our favorite in the Bay Area. Normally pad Thai is something we feel obligated to get because it's such a Thai cuisine staple, but most pad Thai dishes aren't very memorable and all kind of .. taste the same? Bahn Thai's pad Thai was flavor packed, and the duck was juicy and paired perfectly with the noodles and crunchy peanuts. We demolished this dish. I even liked it better than the pad see ew, which is normally my favorite dish. Bahn Thai's pad see ew is also very yummy, but the pad Thai was my favorite. We also got the Thai Basil eggplant, which was excellent, and the pineapple fried rice. My daughter loves pineapple fried rice and gobbled theirs up. I'm personally not much of a fried rice person, but still enjoyed this one. Wish we had a place like this in the Bay but I'll be back the next time we're visiting San Diego.

Yelp
This restaurant has a large menu with bold colors and a clean and modern feel. You can smell the chili oil and Lemongrass as you approach the front door.. thats how you know you came to the right place. I came at the end of June 2022 and there were still covid policies in place, such as only serving food in take out containers. I'm a creature of comfort/habit at Thai restaurants and usually stick to 2-3 different dishes, but I decided to try something new this time: Bomber Eggs - ground chicken stir fry with veggies and sweet brown sauce over THREE fried eggs! (I'm a sucker for any type of egg in my meal) The dish was large, hot, and used fresh ingredients. Unfortunately I realized that I'm not a sweet brown sauce fan, so I didn't really enjoy it until I poured the broth of my Tom Ka Soup in there to cut down on the sweetness! I added some of their signature chili oil and transformed it into something tasty. Despite me not liking my dish, I would still gladly eat here and try something else. The portions are big (it lasted me 3 meals), and the ingredients are fresh and well prepared.

Yelp
I think I found my new favorite Thai Restaurant. When you walk up to the place you see that it's very small with only a couple outside seats. The menus are large, easy to read and really convenience minded. Whomever did their design is smart. Very very easy to order menu where the price is based on the meat and type of item you want. (They also have a few specials). When you order the food is out very quick and piping hot, we had a 25 minute drive home and the food was still so hot it burned! The spicy Red Curry is absolutely delicious and so deep with flavor. The Pad se ew was some of the best I've ever had. The parking is easy if you show up for an early lunch. The outside is a lovely place to sit and very quaint feeling. I'll drive to this place anytime I want Thai from now on.

Yelp
The wings are always delicious but the the rest of the food if you order hot 3 stars is way to spicy to enjoy (last time I got the medium & it wasn't spicy) I was disappointed that I couldn't enjoy it but the cashier also said it was a good choice for the fried rice (don't order the 3stars unless you can handle your mouth burning)
google avatar

Yelp
I got their Tofu Pad See Ew and it was extremely flavorful. Their mild spice level added some great flavor without being too spicy. I like how this location has outdoor seating and can accommodate a larger group (10 people), compared to their original location. The staff made our meals in a relatively quick time period but still maintained it's great quality.

Yelp
Parking - came here on a saturday night and was able to find street parking close to the restaurant quickly. think we were a little lucky though lol. oh wait, it was also raining the whole day - prob why. possible that not many people were out and about. ‍ Food - shiii, gotta give this place a 10/10 for tastiness. i believe that for most menu items, if not all, you can choose what meats to add and what spiciness level you want. we went for mild to no spicy because i have a low af spice tolerance, but regrets since i was able to go to chow town on the mild. if you're like me, level up a bit. challenge yourself, because that's how growth happens. anyway, we got a few entrees to share. see below for ma two centz: - pineapple fried rice - absolute levels of fuego. - pad see ew - more like pad see ooooo lala. so good. - massaman curry - one of my go to's at any thai establishment. this one did not disappoint. not sure how to detail the taste of food haha, it was just really good. Service - when you go in, you order your dishes at the register and i believe u pick ur order up at a counter. Ambience - we chose outdoor seating even tho weather was not good. it was still surprisingly enjoyable, as they have working outdoor heaters and cozy lighting // wooden seating. it was very cute and comfy. Overall, i absolutely loved this place. Will definitely be a go-to thai place in the future.

Yelp
This is my 3rd time here at the restaurant. I highly recommend. You can pick one protein for each dish and the level of spiciness. There are vegan options as well. Each portion has more enough foods for me to have leftovers. Also there are great customer services and atmosphere.

Yelp
They offer outside dining and to go orders only. The patio is very nice and they have heaters. The service is fast and friendly. The food is packed very well in reusable containers. The spring rolls are delicious and great for sharing. You get 5 rolls for $6.95. The Pad Thai is tasty. Portions are more than adequate.

Yelp
No matter what mood I am in the authentic warm delicious food from bahn Thai can turn any frown upside down. I haven't found curry any better then the magic they are creating in the kitchen. As most people have felt the chilly days us san diegans aren't accustom too their soups hit the spot. The problem with their delicious food is you can't just get one dish. My eyes always grow when I know I am getting Thai from bahn Thai. I especially love that this location has more seating and parking spots dedicate for those of us just doing a drive by and picking up food on the go. As most know neither bahn Thai have parking. So this makes life so much easier. This is always my got to restaurant. The staff is extremely friendly and ordering online is easy. Tip the Hillcrest location is the only location that does online ordering and designated parking. This trip I not only got soup, curry I decided to try their special chicken. With my cold the soup was the only thing I could stomach and I can never eat at this restaurant without my favorite curry. They are a little expensive but worth it. bon appétit!!!

Yelp
Honestly the food is not that much better than your standard local thai spot. But what makes the experience bad is everything is to go and if you dine there outside you get treated like peasants with janky plastic plates etc. Drunken noodles 7/10 medium is not spicy. Nothing special. Pad thai: 8/10 i actually liked this which i usually dont. Panang curry: 7/10 nothing special Larb: 8/10 i liked it others did not. Spring rolls 7/10 nothing special Mango rice: 5/10 mango was not ripe or cold. You need that mixture of warm rice and cold mango. Atmosphere: 2/10 it has potential, but dine in is awful given you get worst dining utensils than a tailgate party

Yelp
This is our second time here during a San Diego trip, we made a stop out of our way to get one more round in before traveling home because we like it so much! We got the chicken garlic, which is loaded with roasted garlic and flavorful, perfectly cooked veggies. We also got the pad see ew, which was also very flavorful, with a sweetish sauce and lots of egg and veggies to round out the noodles. Pick up was quick and the staff was kind. We'd definitely be regulars if we lived here!
google avatar

Yelp
I cannot say enough great things about this place - whenever I am in the mood for takeout, I come here. The food is so fresh - highly recommend their Crab Rangoons and the Pad See Ew with beef! The food is consistently fresh, and flavorful. The portions are very large, and I usually have left overs. I also love that they let you customize every order and the spice level. I usually get the medium spice level and it's very very good. Overall 10/10, and I come here several times!

Yelp
Overall: Hands down, top notch Get your booty and belly there No indoor seating, tho plenty outside in the front, on the side, and on the back patio in the back Everything is served in to-go orders Super nice staff Pad See Ew (5/5): Crazy flavorful The right amount of sauce, which was a nice blend of sweet and salty Perfectly proportioned, from noodles to sauce to veggies to meat/tofu Eggplant Basil (5/5): This dish was the STAR of the show Would eat this everyday if I could Sauce was incredible Eggplants were cooked perfectly Loved the thickness of them too Pork was cooked well, most places overcook this Bonus points: Super clean bathrooms

Yelp
Both Bahn Thai locations are close to our house but we visit the Hillcrest location most often and at least once a week. Yeah, we have issues. The crab and cream cheese Rangoon is a must have starter. They're creamy, have a hint of garlic and are fried crisp and served with a sweet chili dipping sauce. We sometimes get two orders! The hubby always orders the pad Thai with chicken and I rotate between the Firecracker chicken, Bangkok chicken or Lemongrass chicken. The firecracker is spicy and makes my heart hurt but it's a good burn. The Bangkok is vegetable filled with cashew pieces for a nice crunch. The Lemongrass is mild and delicious. Their curries are superb as well, so anything you order will be so good that you'll keep returning each week like me.

Yelp
I'm not sure you could find another Thai place with awesome prices and portions like Bahn Thai! Seriously, a full order of papaya salad is $6.95?! FYI: They have a "Thaiger chili sauce" (similiar to a chili oil/crisp) that they provide for to-go orders and it is amazing! Papaya Salad: Absolutely delicious! The fish sauce is prominent so beware. Flavor was great and even at #2 medium spice, it was hot where I was going ooh hoo ahh with every bite. Recommend! Pad Thai: The dish was more on the sweet side but it was decent overall. I would get this again at spicy level #4 because #3 was not. Skip the beef option because there's a slight chew and doesn't seem marinated or infused with any flavor. Basil Fried Rice: You can choose jasmine white rice or brown rice, but we opted for jasmine. Another thing I noticed when ordering online was the option to remove the oyster sauce, which surprised me as I wasn't aware this dish was made with oyster sauce. It looked promising when I was about to take a bite, but it did lack a distinctive "basil fried rice" flavor that I typically enjoy. I would not get this again because it's not something I'm looking for, but it might be down your alley. I love the prices and portion, so I totally recommend them if you have a craving for Thai food and you aren't picky.
google avatar

Melanio F.

Yelp
Crab Fried rice with heat. I wouldn't eat this every week but maybe at least once a month. The takeout can get expensive nowadays but everytim I get something here, there will be always one dish as favorite. We ordered spring rolls (fried), spicy chicken wings and also crab wontons. The wings were fine, a little dry for me but my convection oven helps warm it up without getting drier. The spring rolls and crab wonton are great for sharing. Overall after several orders from Bahn Thai, its been good or better.

Yelp
I drove by on the way to my doctors appointment and was surprised that Babycakes wasn't in its usual spot. I must have overlooked that for so very long! Funny how that can happen! During the appointment I could feel the hangry start to build and the cheese sitting in my car was not going to do it for me. I wanted flavor! So I looked up the restaurant and saw that their prices were super reasonable and they have a online ordering. I was able to order my food while at the doctors office! Tom Yum Soup: (Vegetarian) I love a nice Tom Yum and they pretty much got it. I wish they had put spice in it as it wasn't very spicy at all. I put down medium to see how they spice. I now know I need to go big time aggressive with the heat.. helps me eat less! Papaya Salad: I freaking love this salad. In Thailand I ate it like everyday for several weeks. This salad should be served everywhere! Again it didn't have much of a kick at medium so I was a little sad about that. However, it did have great bright flavor and not too much fish sauce. Also it had a lot of dressing which is the way I like it. The portion was really fair for the price! Eggplant basil w/veggies and Tofu... veggie subbed for rice: Again no spice at all. But great flavors! Because I'm doing the whole low carb thing (yes I can eat small portions of this stuff and still stay in ketosis. I just can't make it a habit) I had to forgo rice. Man I miss rice. Anyway, nice flavor. The sauce was a little runny. Rice would have been so good with it. Did I say rice? Because rice. Chili oil: I think they might make their own? They sell it at the counter. I just took the free little cups of it and was surprised that it had such a nice flavor. It is also not hot. They were quick getting my food made and it was a nice temperature. Super easy to just park really quickly and go in and grab your order. It is awesome that they have parking for pick up orders! In all I will be able to eat on these dishes for like 3 meals. A little treat to break up my keto boredom that doesn't push me out of ketosis as long as I am careful. All for $30! I'll be back! Maybe next time I will be able to try the pad Thai.... Or rice.... Both. I'll do both.
google avatar

Maia J.

Yelp
Let me start by saying this, this food was so incredibly tasty I placed an order to take on the plane right home! The crab fried rice and curries are EXCEPTIONAL. The space is a tad bit small, but they had a wonderful outdoor seating area. Service was quick and efficient! I'd go back again and again and again.
google avatar

Julia L.

Yelp
Food is always good, kind people and great place to wait for to-go-orders as this pic shows the waiting spot. I ordered the green chicken curry spice #3. Get a good spice sniffle which I enjoy!
google avatar

Jeff L.

Yelp
Been a fan of this place since their University Heights location! I remember the first time I tried their Pad See Eew and it blew me away with the smokiness was something I didn't even know could enhance the dish like that! Months later after having it I ended up in Phuket and had this Michelin star rated Pad See Eew and the only thought running through my head was that I couldn't wait to go back home to San Diego to eat the PSW from Banh Thai instead. Aside from the food the staff has always been courteous and friendly. It feels like a true mom and pop shop and I had no qualms eating/ordering from there there multiple times a week during covid. Some folks may have other places on their top 3 lists for Thai but this is hands down mines!
google avatar

Jenny N.

Yelp
This location is in Hillcrest which can make it difficult to find parking depending on when you go, but if you're fine with street parking, it'll be alright! I was lucky to get a spot by the front when I went. They have indoor seating as well as outdoor seating in the front, side, and back! It's pretty spacious. We tried the pad thai and the fried rice. Both were good!
google avatar

Gina A.

Yelp
My fav Thai place. Their curries are thicker which I like and it's casual and easy to get. My go to always!
google avatar

Kelly D.

Yelp
Great take out option in the neighborhood! I've been a long time fan of the Banh Thai on Park and was so happy to see this larger location open up. If you've been to Banh Thai on Park, you know that lines get long and seating is extremely limited. This new location is a huge upgrade from the Park location. Outdoor dining options is important right now and at Banh Thai Hillcrest, you'll find plenty of outdoor dining, well spaced out. Indoor dining is not available, but the interior is beautifully renovated and I can tell it'll be a great place to enjoy a meal indoors down the road. On my most recent trip, I got the Beef Pad See Ew with extra noodles. Price was $11 for the base and $2 for extra noodles. My experience at Banh Thai has always been consistent. Although I found the beef to be on the drier end, the noodles and veggies were well cooked. Even with extra noodles, the protein still felt generous.

Yelp
Hands down one of my favorite Thai places in San Diego ! I really enjoy their yellow curry , pineapple fried rice and the Tom ka soup. It's also reasonably priced, I was able to feed my family of 5 for less than $65 dollars which is great! I also love that most dishes can be made vegan ! The only dish I am not too fond of is the drunken noodles for some reason just has an odd flavor for me. This is perfect for takeout , just not open on Sundays !
google avatar

Chandni D.

Yelp
Great Thai food, fast service! We ordered at the front and found an open table on the outdoor patio. Our food came within 20 mins of ordering which was great! We got drunken noodles with veggies and green curry with tofu. The drunken noodles were good! A little less Basil in flavor than I'm used to but still great. The green curry was amazing, definitely my favorite dish!! It's a little on the spicy side but I loved it. We finished off with the mango sticky rice which was also fantastic. Perfect combination of sweet and salty. Overall we enjoyed our meal and would come back!
google avatar

Tiffany P.

Yelp
Wow I got the level 5 Thai spice (I love spicy) and it made me sweat! No regrets though, would just caution... Pad se ew and mango sticky rice were outstanding. Would come back!

Yelp
You can't go wrong with the massaman curry here. It's always creamy, full of flavor, and has a good ratio of protein, potatoes, and onions. The rice that comes with it is small compared to how much curry they give so I recommend ordering an extra side if you're splitting with someone. Their Thai tea is delicious. I'm not sure if it's a mix that they use, but I like that it's not overly sweet and actually tastes like tea. I only wish they would offer a larger size and alternative milk options (like coconut). Crab fried rice can be a hit or miss flavor wise, but when it's a hit, it SMACKS. The rice is never too wet or dry and the crab is generous. The menu doesn't list garlic as a component, but it definitely tasted garlicky. If you order takeout, I recommend ordering at least 20 minutes in advance. Also, if you're like me and not sure about what spice level you can handle then order mild and ask for chili sauce on the side.

Yelp
2nd location since their original location on Park is super tiny and always PACKED. This place has the same quality food and service! I always get the pad thai or yellow curry here and it never disappoints!! Not sure what else to say besides the fact that everyone visiting SD or even living in SD should eat at 1 of the 2 locations they have. One of my top 2 Thai food spots!! This new space has tons of seating and a cute backyard patio area. Parking is still limited given the location, but there are 1-2 pick-up spots right out front if needed.

Yelp
The enticing sweet-savoury fusion of their Pad Thai is something to write home about. The moment the fork met my mouth, my tastebuds were served with the immediate satisfaction of the salty, nutty but slightly sweet sauce. I enjoyed the warmth of the perfectly cooked shrimp, the crunchiness of the fresh bean sprouts and peanuts and, the underlying tang of lime and tamarind. The restaurant is centrally located in the beautiful urban area of Hillcrest. The space is clean and modern offering patio seating either up front so you're near the action of 5th Ave or, tucked in the back for a more secluded option. I appreciate the quick service and friendly the staff. They have 2 dedicated parking spots and street parking can be a bit tricky, but I assure you it is worth it!

Yelp
Restaurant was super clean with plenty of outdoor seating! Loved the vibe! Food was delicious! I got medium heat but should have gotten hot. Didn't know if medium was going to be spicy enough. Highly recommend! Definitely going back!

Yelp
I LOOOOVE BANH THAI!!! Banh Thai is one of the best restaurants in San Diego. It's consistently really good, and the atmosphere was so cute. I am getting emotional writing this review-- I love Banh Thai so much. I always get the green curry, which is so flavorful and delicious. My friend loves the crab fried rice, which I can't speak to but she raves about. I've also tried their pad thai and tom yum soup, which were super tasty and delicious. An order always lasts me two meals, which is great because I don't want the joy to ever end. Also, their chili oil is so freaking good. It's not spicy at all, if that's what you're looking for, but the flavor-- wow. Thank you all so much for bringing such goodness into the world.

Yelp
Fire!! Fabulous!! Our first stop in San Diego when arriving for a late lunch. We snagged a table outside & quickly got our beef drunken noodles & chicken pad thai to split. Excellent service too!!

Yelp
I have been searching high and low for Pad See Ew with Roasted Duck and drum roll please... I finally found it and it is DELICIOUS!!! The Calamari is tender and crunchy. The customer service here is great. I haven't dined in yet but I will soon.

Yelp
Fantastic!!! We ordered to go. The friendly and helpful people said 15-20 minutes, and it turned out to be 16 minutes. Took the dishes home, and immediately ate as it was still piping hot AND it smelled so good in the car. We ordered the shrimp pad Thai, and the shrimp See Ew, both $11. Both excellent. We also bought some satay chicken skewers and a specialty rice for another night's meal this week. Great value and super tasty with generous portions. This place rocks.... We'll be back!!!

Yelp
Friend recommended this place so thought I'd give it a try. The atmosphere is nice. There's a patio with string lights so it feels fun and chill. The menu is pretty basic and honestly, I feel this caters to people who don't usually eat Thai food. It seems like a more hipster Thai restaurant. You order at the counter and then find your own seating. They'll bring the food to you. I ordered pad kraw pao which they called bai grapow. It didn't taste right to me. It's supposed to be a spicy basil dish with ground chicken sometimes topped with a fried egg. I didn't taste any basil flavor at all. It was spicy and tasted mostly of soy sauce. I can make this better at home. We also ordered some sweet chili wings as an appetizer. These were pretty good. They were crunchy, sticky, and very flavorful...maybe a little too much. It was a little on the saltier side which made me want to eat it with some rice. I probably wouldn't come back again just because there are so many other Thai restaurants that are better.

Yelp
I've been here twice now and the food has been delicious both times! They were super accommodating for my gluten allergy and their menu makes it very obvious to what can be and what can't be made gluten free. I got the pad see ew which can be hard to come by at normal Thai places. Just be sure to ask them to make it with gluten free soy sauce. The Tom yum soup is also a great option for something light and tasty. Service is quick and friendly. I prefer getting takeout because everything is already served in takeout containers and parking can be hard to come by. Definitely my favorite Thai spot in SD so far.

Yelp
Yes 1 million % yes This is one of my favorite Thai restaurants in San Diego hands down! They never disappoint. I've personally enjoyed many of their dishes, from basil fried rice, drunken noodles, pad Thai, eggplant and veggie sauté with rice, and Panang curry are some of my favorites!! The vegan Thai tea they have is also delicious. I'm starting to crave one now just thinking about it. Yummmmy 10/10 highly recommend. I've been here many times and I'll be back many more.
