Bahnhof Hotel Aus

After a long trip on dusty roads, we arrived at Bahnhof Hotel in Aus. The hotel /room was spotlessly clean, hotel staff friendly and happy, and the hotel felt like an oasis in the desert. Moreover, the chef(s) know(s) what they do: the meals were excellent. Overall, a wonderful stay in a spotlessly clean hotel.

The Bahnhof Aus Staff (except for the General Manager) was very friendly and nice. We were given delicate welcome drinks, provided with chocolate on our pillows and while we had decent dinner the staff put hot water bottles in our beds, which was very lovely as I slept warm and cosy. Even if the area around the hotel is a bit shady, there is a security guard at night. So the only thing that was not up to standard was the manners of the general manager, he didn’t even say hello or introduced himself once even though we saw him multiple times. Besides him the other staff was very friendly.

Bahnhof Hotel Aus is a jewel by local standards with unparalleled hospitality. The staff was super friendly (except for the white owner who didn't greet once) and went above and beyond to make the stay perfect. There were so many little details that made us love our stay. We were greeted with a delicious welcome drink, we had a little good night chocolate on our pillows, there was a hot water bottle in all of our beds so they were already warm when we went to sleep. There was an electric heater in the rooms and the bathroom was spacious and had a little bench to put your stuff and clothes on (something many hotels lack). They have a cozy bar, an even cozier lounge with a fireplace and a restaurant where they serve dinner and breakfast and even go out of their way to put little name cards on the tables for guests. The breakfast was good and the dinner was decent. Parking is behind the hotel in a fenced courtyard and there is a security guard with a dog on duty at night.

We (a couple from Norway) stayed here for a night on our way from Fish River Canyon to Sossusvlei (as we suspect many of the guests do - perhaps also to&from Lüderitz- ). It is perfectly placed for that. We had a nice room , no frills but clean and comfortable. We enjoyed having an aperetif in the fire place lounge before having a nice a la carte dinner. Compliments to friendly Trainee Waitress Chrizelle Engelbret! PS: There is no abundance of things to do in Aus itself, but if you , as we did, drive north to Sossusvlei it is worthwile to take a detour on the D707 instead of just the C27. Very scenic!

What a friendly accommodating hotel, with lovely staff. The food is excellent too. We particularly appreciated the Choir that sand during supper. We want to return soon.

Always a highlight of a visit to Namibia. Hotel, rooms, staff are all excellent. Meals were very good. Will always book at Bahnhof. Can highly recommend.

Friendly staff - warm welcome. Service, breakfast and dinner excellent. Enjoyed our two night stay. However, accidently took a room key, had numerous emails whilst travelling. Problem eventually solved after a few days.

The Bahnhof Hotel is Aus has a very convenient location; excellent price range, clean, well maintained rooms and facilities. Staff and service is also great and the food was good every time. Very quiet and relaxed accommodation while you explore Southern Namibia.
