We visited in September 2025 as a couple and had a thoroughly enjoyable and relaxing break.||We particularly enjoyed the calm, quiet nature of the resort (and guests!!), which resulted in a very relaxing week on the beach, and although it is located on a hill, the staff were very prompt at transporting you to your room via the golf buggies.||There were no mosquitos which was great, and our room (45) was extremely clean with a view of the lagoon.||We had a half board package and thought the evening food was excellent, especially the ragu and risotto. The drinks were reasonably priced, around £35 upwards for a bottle of wine.||Breakfast was equally as good, with a fine variety to suit almost everyone’s needs - we enjoyed the fizz which in our experience, some other 5* hotels don't provide.||The beach is absolutely amazing, with a gentle breeze, crystal clear waters, no pebbles and lovely warm water to bathe in all day. You are allocated a bed in a row, we assumed the higher spec the room, the nearer you are to the front!||Staff were always very helpful, spoke good English and assisted us whenever we needed it but.......||..... we felt it fell short in a number of ways for a 5* hotel, particularly around the facilities which are dated in some way and need renovating:||- roads around the resort need re-tarmacking in some places, with the road uneven|- the path from the outside bar to the pool is unevenly paved, and my wife tripped over one of the paving stones|- some slats on the wooden decking by the pool were loose and popped up when I stepped on them|- the beach has no toilet (you have to hike back up the hill to the resort) or showers (again up the hill), some of the loungers were looking old and the path/steps leading down to the beach are uneven and need replacing|- outside the front of the dinner/breakfast area is an old, disused, and derelict pool|- in the rooms, the AV unit is the old-fashioned dial type, we had a leaking sink (quickly fixed), the top of the bin fell off and the bathroom sink didn't drain very well|- the pool sunbeds are quite hard to lay on, and don't have a soft topper like the beach (but they are wider)|- when you sat down outside on our balcony, the hedge was too tall, so you lost sight of the lagoon and flamingos |- no bath robes were supplied in the room, so we had to request them|- the free Wi-Fi was unreliable, OK at best, and not working at all in some cases. We refused to pay for the upgraded package out of principle and turned on 5G which worked much better (and cheaper)|- cocktails at the bar we felt were a bit pricey at 18 Euros each|- our room, and we assume all others, have adjoining doors to the next room meaning we could hear the next door's phone ring and furniture moving|- the water in our toilet kept running after a main flush|- salt and pepper is not supplied at dinner or breakfast tables by default (you have to ask for it)|- when we stayed on the beach later, we had no running hot water on one day (around 6pm)|- this is a dog friendly resort and despite all dogs behaving impeccably, it's worth noting they join their owners for lunch and breakfast in the main dining hall |- at breakfast, there should be an a la carte menu – there was no soft-boiled eggs, eggs benedict etc. just omelettes which you had to order and queue for (not very long)||Although these are a lot of minor points, we didn't let them distract from our wonderful, relaxing, calm time here and you will have a great holiday, but at some point, Hilton need to seriously invest and improve the facilities.
