Bailey's Retreat Cabins and Guesthouses

My husband and l took there tour of the Shenandoah mountains. Our driver was very knowledgeable of the area and had many stories to tell. The views were breathtaking and our stop in wine country was outstanding, a delightful experience. Thank you for this wonderful experience and all the lovely memories William.

My husband and I booked this cottage for our wedding anniversary. We were super excited to get away and after reading the reviews for this place we thought it would be a perfect fit. However, we left after only being there for an hour and booked a hotel for our stay. The cottage smelled awful, it smelled like moth balls. It was not clean and there were stink bugs everywhere. In addition to this we noticed the patio doors were left unlocked and cracked open, anyone could’ve come in before our arrival. I will say that the bedrooms looked nice and they looked clean. Everywhere else in the cottage was dirty and extremely run down. The property does not have any form of entertainment. There are no TVs, radios, or even board games to pass time. I’m leaving this review so that no one else looks at the other reviews and is led to believe this cottage is something it is not. The owners did reach out before our arrival and the day of checkout and seemed to be nice but because we did not stay we didn’t interact with them much.

We rented a house from William and in good fortune were able to close on our house before our rental started. when William wasn’t able to find new renters for the month of August, which meant we were obligated to pay, we decided to move in while major repairs were going to be done to our home. it made sense, we were paying anyway. This is when Williams true colors came out. We were threatened with him charging us for additional months, which he had already stated were filled for Sept/Oct. His behavior was so bad, we finally gave into his bullying and just let him keep $2800 for the month of august without even moving in! Literally, he took out rent without allowing us access to the property. Just be cautious when doing business with him, he is not a good person.

We stayed for a long Labor Day weekend in this beautiful retreat cottage. We had absolutely everything we needed to complete a relaxing getaway. The cottage was very clean and well--kept. We loved the view from the lookout area and the deer were everywhere. It was nice to be so close to nature and the stillness of it all. We will definitely be back. Also, the welcome basket was a nice touch, very thoughtful.

My husband and I stayed in Bailey's Retreat for our honeymoon. It was so peaceful and only minutes from downtown. We really enjoyed sitting out on the front porch, watching the sunset. The cabin was clean, welcoming, and spacious. We will certainly be returning!!! Thank you Roseanne and Bill be for being wonderful hosts!

My friend and I spent 5 nights at Roseanne and Bill's cottage. What a wonderful, relaxing and scenic experience. The cottage is immaculately clean, quaint and has everything you could possible need. We spent a lot of time on the private deck overlooking the beautiful grounds, with dozens of deer greeting us each morning and gathering again in the evening. Roseanne and Bill are fantastic hosts. We couldn't recommend Bailey's Retreat more enthusiastically!

Bailey's Retreat is awesome. Very clean, well decorated and fully equipt with everything you need. I've had a romantic weekend in The Cabin (the views are incredible!!). I've stayed in a Cottage w/another couple when we attended a concert at John Paul Jones. And had fun filled wine, brewery and distillery toured weekend with girlfriends when we stayed in the Farm House. The host were very pleasant!!

We stayed at one of the cottages last year for the first time and it was absolutely beautiful and peaceful. We just rebooked to return and stay in the cabin. The view cannot be beat! We were looking for somewhere to kayak and Bill recommended Beaver Dam Reservoir which was really close to Bailey's. We'll be going back there, too! We had a great time visiting all the breweries and wineries. We live in Richmond and are only able to take off for a few days in the summer. It's the perfect spot to get away to without having to spend much time driving. Highly recommended.
