These Are the Best Temecula Valley Wineries to Visit

"The Baily family was among the Temecula's first wave of wine producers, planting their first vineyard in 1982. Founder/winemaker Phil Baily concentrates on Bordeaux-derived grapes, and gives the reds up to 30 months in barrel for added smoothness." - Richard Nalley

What a great place. $20 gets 6 pours, keep the glass and $5 off bottle purchase. We tried 6 reds, all were excellent. Really enjoyed the Cab Franc and the Meritage. Chuck was exceptionally nice and thorough in explaining every pour. He surely added greatly to our tasting. Glad to take a couple bottles back to Oklahoma with us.

Went there Sunday for wine tasting. Don’t need reservations so really easy choice if you are suddenly in the mood to taste. Great grounds, wonderful ambience. Need a mask to go inside and plenty of seating outside to really enjoy the weather. Very dog friendly Tasting costs $20 for six pours. The white wines were all great (dry Riesling was particularly good). We enjoyed most of the reds as well. Stepped into Carols to see if they had a cheese plate or something easy to take out with the wines and they didn’t, but that wasn’t a big deal. Generally a great experience and highly recommend.

Visited this winery on our own self guided Temecula wine tour. Kelley was absolutely delightful & knowledgeable. Highly recommend this beautiful winery. Love a family owned business. ❤️ 🍷

Google
One of our favorite wineries in the Temecula valley. Terrific reds, and love the dry Reisling. Great staff! My one complaint is their restaurant never seems to be open when we visit.

We did some research on the fly of which vineyard to visit and this one came up on Food & Wine, which we consider a somewhat reliable source, so we went. We got there and the parking lot was empty, we thought they were closed. Went inside and they were open, just a slow day I suppose. Inside has the look of a castle. The walk up had lots of interesting concrete decorations. Inside also had a very strong smell of air freshener, something that should never be used in a winery, let alone a tasting room. (After we left, it took a while to clear our noses of that heavy smell) The wines were just OK, definitely nothing at all what we’re used to from California wineries, more in linen with those we’ve visited in PA, CO, and even the run-of-the-mill very low-end VA wineries. But, to each their own. The lady working inside was very friendly and helpful. Prices are fair, they even have all sorts of specials, such as get 2 bottles free when buying a case. Guess they’re trying their best to move their wine!

Google
This was my favorite winery during our weekend visit. The man pouring our wine was incredibly friendly and knowledgeable which I guess one would be when you've been there for 30 yrs! Wine was reasonably priced and we walked out with two bottles and loved the fact that we got to keep the glasses!

Google
Nice grounds. Good deal on tastings. 6 for $20. Pretty small pours though. Nice area for the dogs. Wines tend to be on the dry side but the Serenity port was delicious.

Google
Another outstanding tasting at Baily Vineyards! Aged to perfection, the best experience in Temecula. Thanks Kelley for the excellent, personalized service you presented. Mike and Lynda (with a Y) from Prescott AZ.

Yelp
My group of 6 enjoyed their experience here. Great tasting wines and great customer service. It did not feel pretentious like some places and reminded me that Temecula had some passionate winemakers that still existed. Thank you - I will recommend to family and friends.

Yelp
PRETTY VINEYARD! Bailey's has a restaurant, tasting room and a cool little courtyard where you can relax and hang with friends! I personally like the courtyard near the restrooms, especially at night! It's dark but very peaceful. I think Bailey's could use a little more light in some spaces. Also, they close early compared to some of the other neighboring wineries. My family and I visited to watch a Shakespeare play as Bailey's hosts summer theater. Some of the caretakers were a little annoying and started playing loud music during the show. It was kinda disrespectful.

Yelp
I really can't say I enjoyed my experience here at all. I did like that the inside was somewhat medieval appearing, with the stone behind the bar. And I thought one of the wines I tasted was nice. I walked in and there were a few people (less than 10) seated at high top tables. One couple at the bar. One woman behind the bar. I waited while she chatted with a couple who appeared to be joining the wine club. As I was waiting, a man walked up to the bar with two glasses. The woman behind the bar acknowledged him, asked what he wanted for his next taste, then told me she'd be with me shortly. Considering I'd been standing there a fair amount of time before that man even walked up, I wasn't pleased. Finally she got to me and the tasting began. The wines did not stand out to me and there was sediment in each of the reds I sampled. Not only did I not feel welcome at all, I just really didn't like the wine. The outside area looks pretty, but there isn't much space.

Yelp
Another winery on the trail. There's also a Restaurant here on site. Plenty of Parking. Very nice ambience.

Yelp
Service is super friendly and very laid back. Tastings are "choose your own" which is fantastic. There's comfortable space indoors and out to chill with a glass of wine. Definitely a great easy stop along your wine tour.

Yelp
Bailey Winery is a hidden gem! Visited midweek and loved the relaxed vibe. Bonus points for being dog-friendly and felt right at home with treats and water provided. The staff were incredibly friendly and knowledgeable, making our tasting experience top-notch. The wine selection was great ! Can't wait to return

Yelp
Karen was an amazing sommelier! I had read how amazing Baily was in Food and Wine online. She made suggestions on her favorites and we definitely got a great bang for our dollar with the tasting. Highly recommend them

Yelp
Came here on a weekday, trying to get away from busy city life. There are many winery to choose from in Temecula, we decided to come here to this vineyard because it seems more secluded. $25 per person for six different wine tasting, 6 Kelley was our server. She was knowledgeable with the wines and also the wineries in the area. She is friendly to talk to. Instead of using a card system for wine tasting, I like how this winery uses poker chips system. Every time you redeem one of your wine tasting, you turn in the poker chip, which makes it very convenient to just carry your glass and enjoy the outdoor scenery. Overall, positive experience at this winery.

Yelp
Baily's is such a great winery. You don't need to deal with the huge crowds like a lot of the other wineries, and their prices are very reasonable for the great wines that they serve. The people are very nice and they are very dog-friendly. It's one of our favorite spots to go when we're in Temecula, especially when we bring our dog. They treat Angel like part of the family!

Yelp
Beautiful gardens, so many different kinds of flowers. Definitely a small boutique winery. I love the idea of coming to this place as a theme night. Have the Party dress up like royalties, A real Henry the eighth vibe . The aesthetic is castle. Gargoyles outside Lots of Swords tapestries And a couple full armor Mid evil statues. I imagine all the kings Horsemens drinking here ! #Five stars #GoingToCarol'sForFood

Yelp
Honestly, this was a very quiet winery for Mother's Day weekend and I was surprised since it is a busy weekend. The view was nice and I enjoyed the medieval theme. We did have an issue with our server and I called and spoke to the owner. Phil is absolutely amazing and took care of my family. He understood where I was coming from. He went above and beyond. The hot bread is delicious. Make sure to buy a few baskets. I enjoyed a few glasses of champagne. The Baileys will take care of you! I will be back.

Yelp
Best winery in Temecula! I was greeted immediately upon entry and complimented on my outfit which was a great start to the day. we all enjoyed hanging out at this gorgeous spot with a nice grassy area to lay while the humans sipped on some wine. their favorite is the port and they always get a bottl
google avatar

Yelp
Was looking for spots we could bring our dog. He was welcome in the tasting room and we had a great experience and tasted some wonderful wines! Bought ourselves a Cab!

Yelp
Didn't get to try the restaurant but made it for wine tasting. Service is great. The wine tasting room is spacious and they have plenty of interior seating. They also have outdoor seating which is also sectioned off table by table which provides privacy so definitely a plus. Wine was very good as is all Temecula Valley Vinyards... the walking grounds seem pretty small but there is an outdoor stage nearby that you can go and see, view and enjoy for yourself... Overall, without having tried the restaurant, it's a 3/5... again, probably wouldn't go out of the way but if you're already in the area then sure stop on by...

Yelp
Absolutely beautiful grounds roses blooming. Everything is green... bathrooms are clean and handicap friendly. However, the food and wine were terrible . Extremely disappointed and will not be returning.

Yelp
Baily is one of our favorite wineries during our visit in October. The place was beautiful and not commercialized. Pricing for their wines was very attractive!! Tasting was $20 for any 6 glasses on the menu and you get $5 off your purchase plus a souvenir glass to take home. My favorite wine here was the Serenity 13 - it is their dessert wine. Our server Cindy was knowledgeable and gave us good information during our tasting visit. They were running some awesome deals on 12 bottles where the average bottle gets down to $6. Too bad that we couldn't take advantage of it since we were visiting! Staff were wearing masks and we felt super safe.

Yelp
Baily Vineyard & Winery was the first stop my friends and I visited on our wine day excursion, and it was a wonderful start to our day! We were a big group, but luckily the Saturday morning that we stopped in was not too crowded. It is recommended that you make a reservation if you a a large party. Chuy and the rest of the staff were so friendly and welcoming. We paid about $21 each for a flight of 6 tastings of our choice. There was something for everyone from whites, rosés, to reds and dessert wines. It was a nice surprise that we got to keep our tasting glass to take home. I definitely recommend Baily and will for sure return!

Yelp
Cute place that is calm and has good wine! Loved the puppy! Service was fine - they let me hang out here for awhile while waiting for friends from LA to arrive.

Yelp
Love Baily wineries, both locations have great wines to taste. Beautiful tasting room. Loved the port. Some good red wines here. Stop in here for a great selection of wines.

Yelp
We went here for our honeymoon trip. We had Chuck serving us and he was AMAZING. Incredible service and such a kind person. He really took care of us. The wine was incredible and he was very knowledgeable about the tasting. I would recommend anyone come back here and try the great wine, ask for Chuck!! He rocks.

Yelp
Every summer since I can remember we come to attend Shakespeare in the Vines. I love this winery solely for this event. I take my kids and they don't get it but I hope one day they will say "mom took us to a lot of cool and different things." Wine is yummy. But I don't think I would know about this place if it want for Shakespeare in the vines.

Yelp
We enjoyed our visit here on a chilly windy Saturday. You pay when you first arrive and they give you 6 tokens for $20. The pours were all a decent size. The workers were super friendly and down to earth. It wasn't overly busy so we were able to find a table inside and make trips to the bar area to order our tastings. The wines we tried were all awesome and flavorful. All in all a great tasting experience!
google avatar

Yelp
Cute place for wine tasting! Dog friendly (allowed inside tasting room) with a cute outdoor space to room. $27 to taste 6 wines, the port was especially good! Friendly staff. Very photogenic area.

Yelp
Visited on a Sunday morning for brunch and has a terrific experience!! Bailey themes their Sunday brunch as "dog days" which means they're super dog friendly. Having two small pups myself, this was the perfect brunch choice for me. Absolutely loved the food! Top it off with a little breakfast wine and it's a perfect morning. The staff was very friendly. Our waitress even brought our pups two doggy bones which they went crazy for!! I'm absolutely coming back. Loved everything about this place!!

Yelp
This place came highly recommended to us, so we were excited to come here as a group of friends for a birthday party. Cute winery with some cozy indoor seating options, a small outdoor patio and some lawn space too (our picnic blankets came into handy)! The interior of the winery has a grey stone and medieval vibe. We ordered several bottles of wine here and the wine was also fantastic. The reason for this low review is that our party was quite frustrated by our experience with the service here. Despite paying for several bottles of wine, our party was told that there were not enough wine glasses for us and therefore the server at the counter refused to give us a single glass to drink the wine from, instead offering plastic cups. I'm not a wine connoisseur but I don't think it takes expertise to know that drinking wine from a plastic cup can affect the tasting experience. While I understand the difficulty of keeping up with cleaning wine glasses on a busy day, no self-respecting winery should offer plastic cups to their paying customers as unapologetically as this winery did. The server seemed a little stingy about even offering enough plastic cups for our entire party. The final icing on top was that when a couple sat down next to us and ordered some wine right after we did, the server magically produced 2 clean wine glasses for them. What?! The unapologetic nature that permeated this whole experience, as well as the race/demographics of my party versus the couple and the server which I don't even want to get into, was enough to make several members of my party upset. We didn't want to make assumptions but it was just hard not to feel like we had been treated dismissively. Better and more respectful communication from the staff here would have improved our experience. If you're coming to Temecula wine country with a large party, I genuinely believe there are other options with more space and capacity to host you that will make you feel more welcome.

Yelp
Had a great experience here! Chuck, who was our server, was wonderful! Very attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable. We enjoyed the wine here as well! Really liked their Montage white and their reserve cab. Overall, the best tasting experience we had this trip, and we took lots of wine home!

Yelp
Carol's Restaurant at Baily Vineyard is outstanding. It has a great ambiance, generous portions, and excellent service. It's also very dog-friendly. We love this place.

Yelp
It was a fabulous southern California spring day, sunny and about 70 degrees, as we arrived at Baily Vineyard & Winery. As we passed through the inside dining room of their Carol's Restaurant, we were pleasantly surprised by the décor, reminiscent of a medieval castle, including a massive floor to ceiling fireplace. Of course, it was empty on this lovely day, as everyone was outside on their beautiful patio. Patio seating is located next to their Cabernet vines and overlooks vineyards across the street. On this day, there was live music, playing many popular favorites. Service was prompt and we ordered: * Reuben Sandwich (Our most popular sandwich) $12.95: Succulent corned beef, swiss cheese, sauerkraut on fresh rye bread with house made Russian dressing. * Kevin Bacon Burger (Named after our friend Kevin Bacon, the mini pig) $14.95: Lean ground beef with Merlot BBQ sauce, onion rings, bacon, lettuce, tomato, cheddar cheese, fresh burger bun. * Great Caesar $10.95 (Add chicken or shrimp - $14.95, Salmon - $16.95): Crispy romaine lettuce, homemade croutons, fresh Parmesan cheese and our Caesar dressing, garnished with cherry tomatoes. Overall, we thought the food and service was very good, and the venue was excellent. After lunch, we stopped by their wine tasting room, and each couple ordered a flight. We enjoyed the wines, especially the 2015 M&M, "a majestic blend of Malbec and Merlot, a balance of rich and smooth." We'd be happy to return to this lovely venue any time!

Yelp
So pleased to have Cindy and her team help us with our wine tasting fun! Great December 2010 Cab promotion and left with a case! White wine lovers paradise! My fiance LOVED every single white wine wasting Baily offered! As for me I totally enjoyed and took full advantage of their red wine tasting selection! I say out of only 3 wineries we went in Temecula, Baily had the most clean and delicious wine tasting selection! Will def be back!

Yelp
Came to the place after having an excellent experience at the nearby Europa Vineyards next door. We came with a party of 15 people and approached the indoor wine bar where they sell their bottles in smaller groups of 2-3 people. Each of our these small groups purchased 1-2 bottles for a total for around 8 bottles total. They gave us 2 plastic cups for our mini group of 3 people and we asked for an extra plastic cup for the 3rd person and the employee kind of rudely stated "I already gave extra cups to your friends" and reluctantly gave us the one cup. After making a $60+ purchase I was kinda shocked by the stinginess but fine. My issue was not with this but when walking out to sit down I had seen that several of the other customers were sipping wine in actual wine glasses which one might expect at a winery. So I went back with a friend and asked if we could get some wine glasses. She glared at me and said "sorry we don't have any clean glasses". A somewhat surprising statement to hear at a winery and as I walk back to join my party I see her associate magically bring out 2 clean wine glasses for this older couple who was ordering as I was leaving. Our group was primarily composed of South Asian/East Asian people in their 20s/30s which definitely was not the primary demographics of the place. You draw your own conclusions... do not recommend this place and from glancing at the other reviews seems like this is not an isolated incident.

Yelp
First time in Temecula, and this was the first winery we checked out. We tried the wine tasting for $15, which offered 6 different wines of your choice. Our favorite was the New Released Chardonnay. We loved the Chardonnay so much we took a bottle home. The winery was beautiful, but due to COVID you were not allowed to taste the wine indoors. Instead, you had to take your glass of wine outside. It was warmer than usual today, but I'm sure if it was cooler I wouldn't mind tasting outside. Shout out to Cindy who was a great host and gave us some ideas for food and entertainment. Great winery and will definitely come back.

Yelp
We chose Baily for our May 2023 wedding rehearsal dinner and we had a great experience! Marla was friendly, helpful, and made the whole process of reserving the guest space and choosing the menu extremely easy. The food and service were great and the dining room has a beautiful ambience, with gorgeous red decor accents - perfect for the Chinese tea ceremony part of our dinner. The surrounding vineyards are also stunning. This is the perfect venue for a rehearsal dinner. Highly recommend!

Yelp
Friendly, beautiful, and most importantly they have some good stuff. Service was top notch, we were well taken care of. Thank you.
google avatar

Yelp
Nope. Nothing but sugar fruit bombs to hide the subpar wine making. Pay $20 for 6 tastings but if you sip a bit and don't like it, your loss. Staff don't wear masks either - even though the state mandates it.

Zachary P.

Yelp
I greatly enjoy their heavy red options; Good Cabernet and Merlot blends. Carol's restaurant has a nice ambiance and I enjoyed the salad they had on special that day (large portions as well)

Yelp
My husband, daughter, and I visited Baily in early November. We went on a Saturday not long after they opened for the day. It was nice and quiet, and we got wonderful, personable service from Chuck A in the tasting room. We felt very welcome, and Chuck gave great information and recommendations. He also told us about their other location that we will definitely have to check out on our next trip to Temecula. As far as the wines, the flights were a reasonable $15 with the pretty logo glass to take home with you. Some wineries are $20-$25 on weekends, which seems very high, so $15 was a welcoming site! I tasted one white and 4 reds, all of which were delicious. They had one library wine available that day - their 2011 Cabernet Franc. I ended up buying a bottle to take home, as it was very good and a great price that day. We did eat in Carol's restaurant as well. There's a beautiful patio, and there was live music that day. The food was good and service friendly, but the tasting room was definitely our favorite experience of the day. I have probably visited 10-12 different wineries in Temecula - some I would return to, some I would not. I will definitely return to Baily. The wines, service, prices, and views were top notch!

Yelp
Had a great time here with my husband on our anniversary! We did a wine tasting and we had a blast learning about red wines and white wines. Our server was super nice and knowledgeable about the different grapes and how the wine was made! Definitely made our day! Thanks so much Baily!

Anthony S.

Yelp
Just a very nice Vineyard and winery to spend the day. They have a very low key tasting room and very good people! Nice and quiet with a patio to enjoy a bottle of wine.
google avatar

Will D.

Yelp
Friendly staff. Had to discard all the tasting samples. Heard good things about this winery and was looking to expand our wine club memberships in Temecula. Unfortunately the wines were not good.

Bailey T.

Yelp
We've been to Baily Winery twice now and love it! They have great wines. It has a very small, friendly, family feel. Highly recommend!
google avatar

Bianca P.

Yelp
This place is great! Beautiful and the wine is amazing! The hubby and I bought a bottle of M&M and loved it!
google avatar

Tash F.

Yelp
I just didn't enjoy a single wine here. I feel bad since the staff were so kind. The whites and reds were all watered down, harsh and unpalatable.
google avatar

Michael A.

Yelp
Came here two celebrating an anniversary. Place seemed to be clean. Staff was nice and friendly. Place has a Good atmosphere.

Stella K.

Yelp
Beautiful winery. Nice outdoor seating. Some areas look a bit less maintained, but overall very nice. Did not try food, not sure option exists. Owner was very informative and made Lots of great wine suggestions. Bought a bottle or port wine (yummy). If you have time, worth stopping.
google avatar

Kurtis H.

Yelp
People always dump on Temecula wines for being pretty low quality and I don't think that's always fair. There are some great wines in Temecula. You do need search for the good ones though and you won't find them at Baily's. We had lunch here so we tried their whites (both a Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc) and we had to discuss which one was worse. Temecula isn't known for whites I. General so I'm hoping their reds are better. But their whites are bad enough a winery shouldn't be serving them. The patio was very pretty. It's a nice property and the food was fine. Service was friendly and engaging. The restaurant Carols was fine. I would not travel out of my way for the food though, and I would certainly go out of my way to avoid the wine here.

Yelp
What a great experience! After researching a number of wineries, my group and I decided on Baily winery as the place to celebrate my sister's birthday. This tasting room was elegantly decorated with more than enough room for all ten members of our group to spread out and enjoy the space comfortably. You can drink both inside and outside the tasting room, which is great because drinking your glass of wine next to these beautiful vineyards really makes the experience! *Also as a dog mom I MUST include that this is a dog friendly space!
