The Best New Eco-Friendly Hotels and Resorts in Mexico - AFAR

"Set across the malecón on the Sea of Cortez in La Paz, this conversion of a 1910 mission-style residence includes a 34,100-square-foot addition housing 32 rooms and a rooftop bar. Reimagined by Max von Werz Arquitectos with interiors by Jaune Architecture, the hotel retains original terrazzo floors and exposed wood beams and favors natural heating and cooling—shade and strategic cross-ventilation—to minimize air-conditioning, while furnishings and earthenware are sourced from within Mexico." - Jennifer Flowers

Baja Club – Restaurant

The restaurant and bar of the Baja Club Hotel has its own character. The bar has a few classic mixed drinks with a local twist: for instance substituting gin with mezcal in Negroni (delicious) or mezcal with Aperol (incredible). The food is very fresh and delicious. They say it’s “Greek” but aside from a couple of “Greek classics” (moussaka) the place is very authentic and niche.

Lovely atmosphere, good service and excellent cocktails. Sadly, the food didn’t meet expectations at their price point. It’s one of the most expensive restaurants in town, and the Greek chicken dish my friend ordered was served with luke warm, soft French fries. The best dish by far was the hummus platter. When we go back, it will be for afternoon drinks, hummus and olives.

Atmosphere was nice. We stopped for a drink but it was almost dead at 9pm. And the mentioned to go to roof top. Will come again later

very nice place, visually but the staff was a bit weird and seemed like they have no experience in hospitality, they came four times to ask us if we where staying at the hotel, and brought us food without the cutlery. ordered the mole dish for breakfast, it’s really good with the spicy sauce. i have mixed feelings about this place but overall good.

I am so disappointed that this restaurant canceled our Christmas Eve dinner reservation without explanation. It is our first night in town and I am now scrambling to find a place that’s open. I guess they just decided they wanted to close early. Be cautious of a restaurant that doesn’t keep their commitments!
