Stopped by for breakfast one day while in St. John. The food and beverages were delicious. Lots of different styles and mediums of artwork here that gave us a great glimpse into the history of the island. We purchased some books and are looking forward to reading them! Staff was incredibly nice as well.

Really beautiful gallery, I will take one of everything. Loved the full service bar and coffee shop as well. I tried a St Lucian spiced rum on the rocks that was 6/5 (never new I liked rum). My wife got an empanada and another pastry that were both to die for.

Bajo el Sol Gallery sells a wonderful collection of locally made pottery, paintings, baskets, jewelry, sculpture, wood carvings, and more. I had an absolutely delicious iced dirty chai. There was a selection of pastries and sandwiches when I was there.

Definitely one of my favorite stops on StJohn. Wonderful rum bar and cafe with the added gallery makes for great conversation all night!! They have a large selection of aged rums, which can be sampled in perfectly curated tasting flights. They also serve Puerto Rican espresso coffee, chocolates, wine, craft cocktails, lite savory bites and locally made pastries. Priscilla Hintz Rivera and David Knight Jr and the team are welcoming and helpful in navigating the rum selection and so much more! A great experience every time we visit St John!!

It’s a shame that this place doesn’t populate when you search “coffee” in google, because they had a great espresso bar. They stocked decaf espresso which is sometimes rare in certain destinations. Cute art gallery with a wide selection of runs as well. Worth stopping in!

We went in to checkout the art but heard the coffee grinder and stayed for espresso. The staff is super friendly. I had my usual iced latte and it was great! We didn’t have any cocktails but they looked amazing!

We enjoyed a rum tasting with David teaching us about various styles of rum. Highly recommend it if you are interested in high-end rums.

We visited Bajo el Sol in early April while on the island of St. John. I had wanted to purchase something unique that would always represent our love of the islands when we are home. We spoke with David Knight Jr. while visiting and he was very knowledgeable, helpful and great to work with. I loved this wood carved piece but wanted to think on it before buying. He assured me it was easily available and would ship. I called him back after we returned home and placed my order. It arrived and is beautiful. Top notch experience from start to finish. Service is always good. Owners very personable. Drinks (both with or without alcohol) are delicious. Attended a poem open mic night with jazz music, great and intimate ambiance.

We came here because my husband was looking for a good rum-tasting experience, and we were not disappointed. It's a combination between a rum bar and an art gallery, so it has a wide variety of options here. They had such a great variety of rum to taste - you could choose one of the pre-picked flights, customize your own flight, or even enjoy a rum-based cocktail. They had so many great rums from both the Virgin Islands and the Caribbean at large, especially ones that we wouldn't have been able to find at home. The rum sommelier was so incredibly knowledgeable about all the rums, tailored our tastings to our preferences, and was able to provide a wide breadth of information to everything we tried regardless of if it was on a pre-made flight or not. Highly recommend stopping here, whether you're a rum expert or just looking to try some of the local rum.

This is a fantastic shop in St. John, offering a wide variety of unique and local art and crafts. They also have a great selection of drinks and rum. Definitely worth stopping by if you're on St. John!

Local art work is sold here. It's reasonably priced too. It was hard to choose from the jewelry to the paintings to the pottery. So many things. We didn't have anything to eat or drink here. People looked like they were enjoying the food. And the service was good.

St. John offers an abundance of natural beauty and adventure and our experience at Bajo el Sol was the perfect complement. We found beauty and adventure indoors! Rum sommelier David expanded our understanding of rum's history and how the methods vary by geography and approach. We learned a lot and found rums we never would have known about that we love. We wanted a unique rum experience on this trip and what we found here was way beyond what we'd imagined!

Awesome cold brew and a gorgeous gallery. The art and crafts are attractive. A wonderful spot to buy some local art.

We stumbled into this art gallery and was pleasantly surprised that there was an extensive rum bar with rum cocktails and tasting flights. Our server, Alex, was fantastic in helping us create a custom flight. So personable and knowledgeable about rum. I would recommend this place to anyone who wants to gain a deeper knowledge of rum or to simply enjoy a tasty cocktail or try something you cannot find in the US.

Truly enjoyed two rum flights at great place presented by the owner Priscilla. Art hall Ary backdrop was very nice too for ambiance.

This place in all aspects was outstanding! Very cool local art and paintings mixed with a rum tasting and an espresso bar!! Got a double espresso and it was fantastic, I'm a big espresso drinker and was impressed! Much more impressed with the place, price (ONLY $2.75 for my double espresso) and conversation with the owner about rum and espresso! We don't drink but highly recommend this place for its espresso, rum, and the great vibes and knowledge of the owner!
