We ordered a cake for my daughter’s graduation not knowing anything about the bakery. We were so impressed with the service, communication, presentation and TASTE of this delicious cake! We did the raspberry chocolate cake. It was beautiful and scrumptious! Would highly recommend BAKE!

I'm so glad I found Bake! We ordered the confetti cake for my son's birthday party and the entire party raved about how delicious it was. We'll be ordering from Bake going forward! Also love all the sweet decor and gift options.

Ordered a Nutella malt cake for my wife’s birthday and it was fantastic! Perfectly balanced flavor with just enough sweetness. The nutty, toasty notes of the malt were a great, subtle touch. So many bakeries we’ve ordered from in the past make their cakes way too sweet for our taste. Bake set itself apart from the rest for us and really nailed it! Also, ordering online is quite convenient. We’ll definitely be back!

The employees were super friendly when I picked up my cake, but even after sending photos and Bake confirming that they'd place my daughter's name toward the bottom of the cake, there it was, in the middle of the cake. And a little sloppy. Also, the chocolate cake was pretty dry, so perhaps I just got the wrong cake. I did appreciate that the flavor was balanced and not too sweet. Probably a fluke, but have to leave an honest review- just had an OK experience for an 8" cake at $50.

I love Bake so much! I live right nearby and count my blessings every day when I come here (which is probably far too often!). The prices are fair for what you get -- a rich, delicious pastry for me at least once a week. I've tried just about everything and really don't think you can go wrong. But the pistachio croissant is especially unique here — grab it if you're lucky and they haven't sold out! In fact, this place sells out pretty often, so the earlier you go, the more choices you'll have. The quiche is a good non-sweet option. I also got my birthday cake here this year — the $60 rainbow cake easily fed ~35 people and I had a little under half of it left over. It was both absurdly cute and delicious, a good reflection of the balance between aesthetic taste and taste taste that is well-straddled in just about everything these folks do! And they're nice :) (PS -- good spot to have a little sit-down at too! Sadly the patio is gone, but it's colorful inside and fun to see parents come with kids from ballet across the street. Family friendly place, not a go-too for me for work)

I love their chocolate chip cookie. The salt balance is off the chain, a week later I’m still thinking about it. Banana bread was also really well balanced, not too sweet. My only criticism is the case was half empty at 10:15 and it wasn’t busy. Was hoping for a little more variety but I’ll be back a little earlier next time!

I visit Bake often for their delicious bakery items, but I also purchased a half sheet marble cake for a wedding rehearsal dinner and it was so delicious! All of our guests raved about the cake and asked where we got it. I highly recommend a cake from here in addition to just strolling in for breakfast!

This is a nice bakery and cafe! I came here in the afternoon and tried the cookies which were nice and tasted homemade. The chocolate chip cookie seemed a bit too thin and was too salty with some bites. They have greeting cards and books for sale here too. I would come back to try out other desserts here.

This place is super cute. Super pink. Super femme. Love the whole aesthetic! Only a few tables, but it seems like most folks take it to go anyway. A full wall of quirky cards. Candles that look like baked goods. Other adorable home knick knacks and books. I don't know how someone could go in and not feel their mood perk up. Ordering was easy and no-fuss. Super quick and also very nice to us even while our younger little was hopping some wiggles out. What we got: Quiche (the daily was a sausage and broccoli) - I don't think I have ever had a quiche this style before. It was so so good. Huge portion that can easily split between two people. The egg was so custardy. And the crust was so flaky. It was more like a puff pastry or amazingly buttery pie dough. I think any quiche they make would be delicious. Even our kid kept wanting more ... and that's with broccoli y'all! Surefire way to get a kid veggies is through this magical quiche. Get it. 11/10 -- highly recommend.

WOW. I had never heard of Bake but it's nowhere near my own neighborhood so I guess perhaps that's why. But after being treated to a cupcake from here, I am a fan. I had a chocolate cupcake and it seemed to be equal parts cake and buttercream--I had to study the thing for a moment to figure out the best way to eat it to minimize mess, haha. The cake was perfectly moist and the buttercream was so freaking good. I'm not a fan of overly sweet icing, but a good buttercream is delicious and this was the latter. It's about a half mile from the cafe where I attend a new mom's group, so I stopped by one Wednesday morning to get a couple cupcakes for later that day. I got chocolate caramel one (it was the frosting that had that combo) and a chocolate with chocolate frosting. The chocolate one was a bit disappointing--it didn't have buttercream but more of a sugary icing. But the chocolate caramel was good. My birthday is looming so we got a cake from here to celebrate. In addition to cupcakes, they have cards, books, coffee drinks, and other sweets. I love that they sell special birthday candles, too. Service was friendly and quick, and though parking is street only there was plenty when I was here (but maybe that's just the joys of a late Wednesday morning). I'd recommend it to anyone looking for delicious, drool-worthy dessert.

Great bake shop with beautiful cakes and pastries. Super cute and cozy on the inside and staff is always smiling. Their cakes are absolutely gorgeous and some of my favorite in the city. They have always delivered great cakes and I would always order ahead!

Bake is such a cute place! When you walk in, you see greeting cards, tea concoctions, tea towels, books, handpainted ceramicware, and other various gift items that you can purchase. We came here after having lunch in the area, and we ordered several cookies and a tart - my favorite was the Pretzel Chocolate Chip, but the Raspberry Cookie, the sugar cookie (we got the one that was an octopus!), and the berry tart were all good, too. Be sure to check out their social media, as they're pretty good in updating it and showcasing their seasonal or limited edition bites! Note that the baked goods here get sold out quick, so it's best to come earlier in the day! Service was very warm, friendly, and welcoming! There are tables inside, but there is a patio in the back, too, with some tables and chairs. I can't believe I've never written a review for Bake! We've gotten countless cakes and desserts from here and THEY'RE ALL SO GOOD! Be warned the buttercream very rich! *cue drooling* Extremely reasonably priced and is our go to place for desserts for any occasion. My personal favorite is their cookie dough cake, but we've also tried their cookies and cream, rainbow, Nutella and s'mores which are all good as well. Cakes have to be ordered 48 business hours in advance but if you walk in during open hours they have a variety of cupcakes and pastries and other desserts available for take out. Do yourself a favor and go to Bake!

Came here one morning after an appointment nearby. I have been wanting to try this location for a while. I grabbed chocolate cupcake for my husband and a sprinkle sugar cookie for myself. I didn't end up getting coffee because quite frankly they weren't that friendly there. The treats that we got were really good and paired well with coffee at home. I enjoyed the baked products, would love to come sit on their outside patio area. Hopefully the next time I visit the staff will be a little bit more welcoming. Felt like the customer service was that of an Italian beef shop and not a bakery. However we all have bad days so I will try it again.

The best neighborhood bakery. Their cakes are delicious and always a hit! The owners are great. They also sell great cards and little gifts.

Was in the neighborhood visiting my doctor and I wanted to treat myself afterwards. I love exploring local pastry shops to fulfill my sweet tooth. This place is the cutest! I loved all the decor inside. They sell more than just sweets, coffee, and tea. They have things like candles, cards, books, etc. that you wouldn't be able to find anywhere else. The walls are lively with patterned wrapping! I felt happy vibes inside. Pastries: They have so many yummy options to choose from - croissants, quiche, cookies, cupcakes, and more! I knew for sure that I wanted a cookie so I opted for the oreo cookie that made my mouth drool just looking at it. You can tell more butter than flour was used in making this cookie, which is what I prefer in a cookie. It was so good, it just melted in my mouth. For some variety, I also decided to try their lemon scone because why not? I'm not a huge fan of scones but I do love lemon in pastries. I wish the lemon flavor was a little stronger. Don't be fooled by the amount of icing on top because honestly it wasn't as sweet as it looks. Overall happy with my visit because it was just the kind of pick-me-up I needed for the week. Plus the cashier who checked me out was so sweet and nice! Great service!

I used to stop by scone city on the way to work and was disappointed when they closed until I found Bake! The maple brown sugar, chocolate chip and the chive and green onion scones are all amazing! The ham and cheese croissant is also a winner.

Ahh! Trusty lil' BAKE. Whenever I'm craving something just a little sweet, I always visit BAKE. Maybe I'm basic, but I love their gigantic chocolate chip cookies (at $3.50/piece). If you microwave that sucker at 12 seconds, it's just right to consume. Of course, they have other tasty treats too like cupcakes, scones, muffins and lattes. That said, do NOT sleep on this place because they only remain open till they sell out. And trust me, they sell out. Also to my surprise they have a patio in the springs/summers so it's definitely a spot worth visiting! NOTE FOR MGMT: I would love if BAKE offered late night hours to be my own personal Insomnia Cookies type of location :)

I used to bake cakes for the family whenever we had a birthday, then we discovered their s'mores cake and it was over. Now we are all just counting down a reason to buy a cake from Bake for any possible occasion. Their other pastries and desserts are delicious and their staff is kind and helpful. It's a wonderful local small business that is definitely worth checking out! We now have guaranteed invites to friends parties in the burbs because we live close to Bake and can pick up a cake on our way to the party. And you know we say yes, because that means we get to eat more cake.

After ordering my birthday cake from here for the past 9 years, I wouldn't imagine a better business to support during this time. I have gotten the Nutella, S'more and red velvet cakes and truly have stuck with the Nutella and s'more cakes. They used to have amazing pop tarts and happy times when they had them, but sadly I was told they don't make them anymore. The final time was many years ago as a special order. This place originally had 2 female owners, but lately I believe it's now solely owned by the family. It was great to go in recently and get a couple HUGE oatmeal sandwich cookies, chocolate chip Pb, and choc chip pretzel cookie too. And a couple cup cakes and a slice of quiche and a raspberry topped scone. Can you tell I'm buying a lot as I want this place to survive so I can still order my birthday cake from them. Turns out they're open on Mother's Day so I ordered a whole quiche today for pick up. The first slice of quiche was loved by my mom so much she asked for this for Mother's Day. Just call and ask if they can make you're favorite cookie, and check out the cake menu as most can be made into cupcakes for birthdays. Thank goodness they're still around and their son is now 12!

First of all, the location itself is a delight. It's got almost a local bookstore sort of feel to it, with some great cookies and other tasty treats instead of books. Of all the ones I've tried, I think the flourless triple chocolate cookie is my favorite. I love the texture of the outer layer, with just a perfect chewiness on the inside. Their cupcakes are good, but definitely on the drier side. Prices are reasonable, actually a bit cheaper the competition ($10 for 2 large cookies and a big cupcake). A really cool spot I'll try again.

This is the kind of place I always insist on stopping in whenever I happen to be in the area when they happen to be open. I love quality stuff like this! Take their rainbow cake for example. Oh my! I always tell my wife, get this for my birthday! But on other days I'll opt for their sprinkled cookie. Often I'll get two so I don't have to share with my wife. And you really can't go wrong with their cupcakes. Don't even get me started on their pastries! Actually I'm quite glad they're not closer with more generous hours, I don't feel like buying bigger jeans!

A colleague of mine surprised me with a vegetarian quiché after I had a surgery and was recovering. The quiche was so yummy and warmed my heart! I would definitely recommend picking up a whole quiche from this spot.

We had some friends order a baby shower cake from Bake. Instead of making the original rainbow cake they accepted the challenge of doing a ombré blue cake. The layers went from light blue to dark blue. The cake was delicious and the presentation was amazing!

I purchased a cake from Bake for a friends 30th birthday four years ago. Everyone raves about the cake and asked me where I got it from. Since then, this is the only bakery I use for events. They are so reasonable in regards to pricing, their cakes are always delicious and they are so accommodating. I couldn't recommend them enough! FYI- I always get the marble cakes, they're perfection!

I never write Yelp reviews but I had to write one for Bake. I had pre-ordered a cake on their website to celebrate a birthday and Father's Day. When I arrived on Sunday morning to pick up the cake, they did not have my order. This was clearly due to an error on my part when ordering the cake. The owner was there and told me that she would still make me the cake and that it would be ready that day to pick up. This was above and beyond - especially when their website asks for 2 days notice to pre-order a cake. Now for the cake! I have to preface this by saying that in general, even though I have a massive sweet tooth, I do not like cake. It is often too dry, too sweet, not enough depth in flavor - I'm just not a fan. I ordered the S'mores Cake and I don't think I can convey how absolutely delicious this cake was! I will never order cake from any other bakery again. This is everything cake should be and almost never is. It was absolutely amazing! Moist, deeply flavorful, not too sweet, and an amazing combination of flavors. I am now a cake, and a Bake fan!

I decided to pop in to get some coffee. It had a cute storefront, coffee, and good looking pastries. I ordered a caramel latte, which was good and not too sweet. Next time I'm in the area, I think I'd like to try one of their pastries!

I LOVE BAKE. Maybe it's the fabulous smells. Maybe it's the kindest service. It might have even been the fact that their storefront is the exact same color palette as my classroom. Seriously, everything about Bake is wonderful. I was so overwhelmed by what to try. So many baked goods in a million unusual and enticing flavors. Being a cupcake aficionado, I narrowed it down to at least choosing a cupcake and asked for recommendations. She asked my flavor preference (who even does that?! Brownie points for Bake's service) and recommended Nutella Malt, which I ran with. $3.31, tax included. This is the cheapest cupcake I've had in a LONG time. And don't even get me started on how wonderfully rich and buttery it was. I'll be back to try them all. :) Bake might very well be my new favorite bakery!

I got there minutes before closing, so options were limited. They don't sell whoppie pies anymore btw. I did get a cinnamon bum (delectable) and oatmeal cream sandwich (just ok, too sweet). Also, I got an awesome AOC candle (yes, they sell candles, reminded me of my mom's Mexican religious candles) and coffee. The customer service was good, which is a plus for a place that's about to close. I am going back for a dozen of those cinnamon buns.

Bake was spectacular!!! Ordered a birthday cake from out of state for a Chicago party. The staff was uber accommodating. The cake was ready exactly as stated on the day and time. Our guests went crazy we they saw the deliciousness the staff had prepared. Cake was over the top fabulous, moist, fun, icing was divine. In closing don't take chances anywhere else, Blake is where it's at!

A dessert shop should be a joyous place, but every time I come here the lady at the front isn't very friendly (think very curt responses, no banter, no additional help with selections). Don't get me wrong -- the cookies are awesome, but when I hesitate about going somewhere because the staff isn't nice, I think I should call that out.

I have been here several times, typically to bring treats to my work clients. I was there two days ago and seeing only four cupcakes in the display asked if they had others and if so could they do some purple frosting. My clients colors are purple/white. I knew it was a long shot but thought I'd check. I got a bored No from one employee, then the three employees just stood there. I was the only one in there and had to ask if anyone was interested in helping me. One cupcake and two cookies = $10.50. I really want to shop local but I get quicker and friendlier service from Dunkin or the Jewel bake shop. This was my last time coming here.

This was the perfect pick me up cake! Always happy to support local and get sugar high, and happy I did it with Bake - first off, this place is adorable. Definitely unique and special vibes from the interior and bright pink wallpaper. I live for wallpaper. The cookies scream at you in the case, so clearly I couldn't leave with just my pre ordered cake - I got a pretzel cookie too (saving for later to prevent a heart attack). The cookie cake is nuts! The cookie chunks drizzled on the outside are very fresh, soft and delicious, and the cake is nicely balanced - not overly sweet like many cakes are. Would highly recommend a trip to Bake and come with your sweet tooth. They are churning out wonderful treats!!!

My 3 years old refers to this bakery as the magical bakery, and he's really not wrong. One day we went on a rampage and got quiche, morning buns, sugar cookies, almond croissants, regular croissants, chocolate chip cookies, and a red velvet cupcake. I have to say the morning bun was my favorite, but everything else was excellent as well.

I had a great experience with all of the staff members at Bake. It was super easy to order a 10 inch chocolate chip cookie cake online and then I called to customize the decorating. It turned out perfectly! The cake was a huge hit and so delicious; worked out great with a group of 13. 10/10 would recommend and will be ordering from again. Thank you Bake!!

Eh. This place honestly was not my favorite. My iced coffee was overly watery and my chocolate scone was one of her most bland things I've ever had. The maple scone on the other hand was decent. The place itself is honestly inviting and quaint. Could be a great place to study or work. The decorations are adorable. Very mixed feelings about this place. Came here on a whim because of yelp reviews so maybe I'm missing something.

We ordered from Bake for NYE. Had heard lots of good things. We ordered online and all went well. Easy ordering and pick up. We got a cake (carrot) and 9 cupcakes (chocolate, Nutella, and cookie). I personally only tried the cookie cupcake bc not the biggest fan of other favors. Wow those cupcakes are best I have had, perfect combo sweet and subtle. Can't wait to try more and when I walked in their display was so enticing can't wait to try more. Only tried one item but amazing!

This little hole in the wall place is heaven. When you walk in, it smells so good - which tells me they make everything in-house (unlike so many bakeries/coffee shops I've been to). Also everything is made in small batches so it is fresh. The oatmeal cookie sandwich is everything. I still think about it. The cookies were perfectly baked, not crunchy but not too soft to be able to hold the buttercream filling in between. It wasn't overly sweet at all, which made it even easier to scarf down.

I love everything about this bakery. From the wall of greeting cards to the colorful prints and the large array of pastries and fun party supplies, I love it all. I've been to Bake twice before and have now been here for a third time. I recently came in to do some work on my laptop, while enjoying breakfast (tea and croissant- yummy buttery flakiness perfection). I had a lovely experience. The lady who worked the counter was very friendly and helpful and I was able to get an hour of work done. I definitely want to return to try more of their sweet treats (red velvet cupcake and cookies, I'm looking at you!)

My best friend and I were in search for the fattest slice of cake in Chicago. Our friend recommended Bake, which apparently was originally in Fulton Market, but has moved to the outskirts of commercial Wicker Park since. We went to Bake in search of the iconic Rainbow cake and was a little disappointed that it wasn't offered at the time we went. So we went to the cashier and asked her to give us the fattest slice of cake available. She immediately proceeded to an 8 layer cake on display and when she started describing the layers and flavors, we were like "say no more". The thicc 8 layer cake was only around $6.50 which was really surprising given how generous the serving was! Given that there are eight layers, it got very rich very quickly. But every bite was delectable and I especially enjoyed the creaminess of the dark chocolate ganache. I recommend sharing a slice with someone, unless you really want to challenge yourself. The cafe overall had a really homey, pink aesthetic. There were decorations plastered all over the walls and the space was quite large. I don't think there was wifi but I could also be wrong. Bake is a high quality bakery for those who want to enjoy a chill afternoon catching up with friends over delicious baked goods and I certainly see myself going back to try different flavors of cake.
