"The walls of the café and bistro 'Bakeliet Kaffee' tell an interesting story about the post-War Germany for people to realize that they live in an open-minded tolerant society. The owners Ibrahim and Maaiken use many contrasts in their shop: from bunker-doors next to colorful flowers to a traditional atmosphere with modern cuisine. The food comes from regional farmers and the fair trade coffee is house roasted every week. Daily fresh baked bread and cakes are offered together with very special breakfasts and small dishes. Service was very good--friendly cashier and barista. Cappuccinos were palatable, although coffee could have been a bit stronger. We also had croissants, which I'm sad to say were not the best. Very fatty and not thoroughly baked inside. Really missed those crispy and airy croissants from France; the German versions taste more like bread. That said, we enjoyed our experience sitting outside in the shade. I would return and try other products.

We like it here. It's cozy but sometimes a bit loud. They have a few vegan options. Unfortunately the soy milk curdles in their coffee. Cashew milk is fine but I personally love the Nepal Malty Magic tea and order that instead of coffee.

Decided to try out this place and totally enjoyed having found this cute little spot! We ordered a cake, cinnamon roll and two coffees. Everything was really good, they have some really good vegan options and the staff was very welcoming and friendly 😊 Definitely recommended

I love the vibes of the place. The structure.... it's like a really old torn up place.... from the walls to the furniture but I think they did it with intention . It's really shabby chic....... the service is great the chocolate orange cake I had was awesome and so was the freshly squeezed orange juice!!!!!! The other stuff that I didn't try all looked good as well. From the front the place always looks full so don't just leave without asking the staff if there are free tables, and be early enough, they close at 18U.😊

Coffee is beyond expectation! And not only coffee which you can enjoy the taste. Hier they offer many kind of bakeries. ☕️🥐🍩 Staffs are friendly, greet welcomely. One of my fav cafés in Kiel 🤍🤍

Delicious coffee, even iced if you want it cool in the summer (just as the nice waitress, as it is not advertised on their menue). If you like cake to go with your coffee, do not hesitate to try their german-style cakes :D Everything can be ordered as take out as well!
