Baker & Cook - Chip Bee Gardens

We’ve been loyal customers of Baker & Cook for over a decade, and it remains one of our all-time favorite places in Singapore. The food is always fresh, wholesome, and full of flavor, and the service is consistently warm and attentive. The atmosphere — especially at our favorite outlet in Holland Village — is relaxed, welcoming, and perfect for families and dog-lovers alike. One thing I really appreciate is that they offer gluten-free options. The Simply Scrambled Eggs in the photo I shared is the gluten-free version, and it’s just as tasty as the regular one! Another must-try is the Big Breakfast — it’s generous enough to satisfy two hungry adults. I can only share a small glimpse of the many meals we’ve enjoyed over the years, but we highly recommend Baker & Cook to anyone who loves delicious, healthy food in a friendly, feel-good setting. I visited the café on a Friday morning, and it wasn’t crowded at all — a nice, quiet time to go. As a big fan of Pain Au Chocolat, I had to try theirs. The pastry wasn’t as crispy as the one from TBB, but it had a lot more chocolate inside, which I really liked. If you enjoy a richer chocolate filling, this one’s worth a try. The coffee was strong, with two shots, so it definitely gave a good caffeine boost. But in terms of taste, it was pretty standard — nothing too special or unique. Overall, a nice place for a quiet morning bite. The Pain Au Chocolat stood out for its filling, but the coffee was just okay.

Polished concrete flooring, and an exposed ceiling with black track lighting and pendant lamps gives off a warm and inviting ambience. 🔵 Seats = is a mix of large wooden communal tables, smaller round tables, and various wooden stools and chairs. 🔵 The bakery counter is a long, glass display case, with a heavily textured grey stone base ➖️ showcasing a wide variety of freshly baked goods. 🥪🥗🥖🥐🍞 It features an extensive selection of items, including various breads, pastries, tarts, and cakes. 🟩 What I bought = 🟩 2 packs of All Butter CRANBERRY Shortbread Cookies priced at SGD7.50 per pack. 🟩 These cranberry cookies are my favourite cookies in Singapore. They are deliciously crumbly and buttery cookies studded with generous bits of dried cranberry fruit. 🟪 Service = Nicole was the very kind, helpful and empathetic staff who gave me permission to take some photos in the cafe. 🟪 When she realised my left leg's muscles were strained, she kindly opened the heavy glass doors for me and even supported me when I was exiting the cafe ( because the door threshold was a abit high). 🧡 Thank You So Much, Nicole, for your wonderful omotenashi spirit of hospitality. ➖️ It is staff like Nicole who brightens the day and makes a cafe experience so heart warming. Love this place and I am a regular here. But come Halloween each year, it's fully decked out with skulls, imageries and objects that look like a full-blown 7th Month celebration. Why? Is this not under Far East group?

Came here for brunch with family today. We are a group of 6. Love the ambience at this branch. It was spacious, quiet and relaxing. And a special shout out to the staff: Mona, Charisma and Nicole. The service was top notch. Everything from patience in taking our orders, readily agreeing to swapping smoked salmon to sauteed mushrooms (due to dietary needs), right down to recommending sourdough bread options when we were picking out breads to pack home. These were just some examples of the exemplary service we received. We enjoyed our meal. It was hearty and satisfying. Food was beautifully plated. Highly recommend their Big Breakfast and Avo Smash which was what we ordered. Will definitely be making another trip there soon!

The nearest outlet to me is in Serangoon Gardens but I will travel to this outlet. It’s my current fav cafe spot to hang out to read or work. Healthy meals with yummy tarts and cakes. Comfortable and clean environment.

Overcooked poached eggs for two of the mains I ordered, ruined the entire breakfast. Very difficult to swallow the entire meal as the whole breakfast is dry without the runny egg yolk. A low-level silly mistake by the chef I guess. See the photo I attached. Nice environment, no queue on weekends, compared to their other branches. Good place to bring kids, they got very friendly staff and a nice environment. My 6 years old get to order caramel brownies on his own and get to have fun with the staff there which gained back a few points.

Located in Dempsey this place is a bakery cum cafe. Their specialty is sourdough bread and they have a wide array of freshly baked goods on display. We tried their sourdough and soy bread which had a nice nutty flavor that went well with the sourdough taste. We also tried some meringue cookies which were average. I would definitely go back to try more of their breads.

Pretty good bakery with a variety of artisan bread selection. The croissant sandwiches here are quite good (though a bit pricey) as well.
