"Looking for more than the usual pastries, cookies, pies, and cakes? Baker Street also features 16 kinds of artisan, hand-shaped bread, including whole wheat Italian bread that really tastes Italian! Grab a cup of coffee and watch their bread come out of a French stone hearth. Mmmm... Nothing like the taste of freshly baked bread!" - Leah Garlock

Quaint bakery situated in a prime location. Unfortunately none of the items had any prices on them. Which is a shame because it’s an inconvenience for both the staff as well as the customers. Isn’t it standard practice to display the price? Will maybe try again at a later date.

I’ve become a huge fan of baked goods over the last couple years. I really enjoy trying new bakeries and exploring what they have to offer. It had been quite a while since I’ve stopped at Baker Street Bakery. Now I’ve been three times in the last couple weeks! Stopped today for blueberry muffins, almond croissant, blueberry lemon scone and a loaf of rustic Italian bread. The muffins are huge with plenty of blueberries but are not overly sweet which is nice. Last time I got chocolate chip muffins and honestly it was just too many chips in the muffins for my preference so didn’t get them again today. I haven’t tried the croissant or scone yet but am excited to. The rustic Italian bread is fantastic, the entire family loves it! The loaf is usually gone in a couple days 🍞 The staff has always been very friendly and helpful, which I appreciate. If you’re near Park Ave in Rochester and you’re looking for some delish baked goods I suggest you stop at Baker Street! 🍞🥐🥖

If you value family owned, independent, hard working, and the area’s most delicious artisan baked goods support them. They are a treasure and a blessing to have in our community. Best pizza dough and I’ve tried them all.

!!!!DONT PARK IN THEIR LOT!!!! The owners get income from the cars that get towed out of the lot behind their bakery. They will tow their own customers, if you stay in the lot too long. Pastries are OK.

I love this place!! I went looking everywhere for a cinnamon roll with icing yesterday and this place had it one left!! And it was amazing!! The staff was friendly and had a smile on their faces. The other item in the photo was the blueberry cheese slice. Also bought their cranberry apple bread which was super soft and fluffy. Next time I am getting their mnm cookies!

This place smells amazing and tastes amazing. If you need desserts or bread for a special dinner stop here and get something great. The Rosemary Sea Salt is highly recommended!

Friendly polite service. Bought a loaf of rustic Italian bread and a blueberry pie. Both were ok but not neither were above average if I'm being honest. A bit pricey as well. Doubt I'll return.

Everything is fresh. Didn’t like the cupcake icing. It was tasted bitter. But looks beautiful 🤩 Love their German chocolate cake and the sourdough bread. Parking available.

Yelp
Stopped in here today for some treats. Trying to find parking was a bit confusing. All of the ladies working here were super nice and very helpful. Had a sticky bun and a fudge parfait, which totaled $10. Felt slightly steep for what they were, and the sizes, but whatever. Both were pretty delicious, but not as good as treats from other area bakeries. The sticky bun in particular tasted a bit...aged. Grabbed a cinnamon streusel bread thingy on the way out ($7.50) that hasn't been tested yet. Overall, an okay experience!

Yelp
One of Rochester's best bakeries in super selection from sweets and cakes to breads. Friendly service. I'm sure to try their sourdough as well as the their breakfast pastries

Sierra S.

Yelp
Best baked goods hands down! Friendly, helpful staff make Baker Street a Park Avenue staple.

Isabella T.

Yelp
Painfully average pastries and bread. I've had better loaves at Wegman's and WAY better loaves at Amazing Grains. Staff is unbelievably rude, no matter when you walk in, and how little/much you buy.

Tom M.

Yelp
We've stopped by the Baker Street Bakery a few times now. The staff is always friendly and helpful. The varieties of treats and breads is great. They have a new offering: Savory Danishes. We tried two flavors: Parmesan Leek and Spinach Feta. They're both great. It was quite a surprise. We also had carrot cake squares (decadent), Nanaimo bars, Rugelagh, Lemon custard tart, chocolate bear, eclair, granola squares, Parker House Rolls, and an apple kutchen. We haven't sampled everything yet but what we have is first rate. We've had a cherry kutchen before and some of their cookies. We keep coming back for more.

Gabe J.

Yelp
Baked goods aside, I was sold an expired jug of milk. Yelp demands that I write more... Don't sell expired food products? Especially dairy?

Weijia L.

Yelp
All stars go to the jalapeño pepperoni rolls! Crusty, chewy, soft and with a spicy twist. Reheat them for about 15 secs in the microwave - trust me ;)

Yelp
Have been here a few times, actual bakery items are pretty good, however the owner stopped me while in the parking lot when going to another business next door to confront me about parking there. When asked if I was going to any of the businesses in the plaza, he told me that I could not park there if I wasn't going to any of the four businesses and would tow me if I did. What I found interesting was the fact that the parking lot was mostly full, with the 4 businesses being completely empty and people all at other businesses. Anyone who frequents Park Ave knows this is where people park to go to a few coffee shops, and while I respect his right to do this, if he isn't consistent with enforcing his policy then I don't know why I was targeted. Won't be coming here again due to this experience with the owner.

K H.

Yelp
,I've been here many times and parked in the back lot by the back door as I'm handicapped. Love your scones, cookies, bread, desserts, cakes. However, last week I drove into the parking lot and the back door said Employees only! Parking on the street is impossible to get a spot. So you've lost my business!!

Steve D.

Yelp
Whenever I visit Rochester, I make a point out of stopping by Baker Street Bakery to pick up a breakfast pastry. There's a great selection, and I'm always happy with the result. The people are friendly and helpful. I'd give them five stars, but my only experience with them has been breakfast, though I'm pretty sure that everything else they make would be delicious.

Jillian Z.

Yelp
The best bread i have ever had. So very light and airy along with having the perfect amount of crunch! Their rustic Italian is great for dinner or toast w/ jelly in the morning! I will never buy bread from anywhere else again

Katie N.

Yelp
I have yet to have a bad experience here. I opted to buy my bread from this local spot than from the grocery store and I haven't been disappointed. My favorite so far is the sunflower seed bread but you can't go wrong with any option. Treat yourself to a cinnamon bun, I promise you'll love it. They also have Pittsford Farms Dairy milk on hand in the cooler. The scones, biscotti and pies are my go to favorites. A word of caution: pick your time wisely. Saturday mornings can be busy! They only have one register, which is normally fine but to avoid a line I suggest a weekday morning if you can swing it.

Jen R.

Yelp
I have lived in the area for about four years.. why did it take me this long to get to this place. Well.. maybe cause sometimes Park Avenue for parking can be tricky sometimes. Ok onward... So after asking and reading a few reviews thanks Nicole M and our fearless CM Breanna B I went into this lovely bakery. They have a few tables, and they were getting orders ready for the Thanksgiving Holiday. I called in before to make sure they had Sourdough Bread and indeed they do. So I bought some Sourdough for my stuffing and took a few pieces of it to toast. It was perfection. I also got a Cranberry Scone (I warmed it up) it was good but I'm use to the ones from the relatives in the UK. As they are made smaller and with Currants. These were very good, I also got a croissant which I warmed up as well.. this was pretty good but I would be interested on how they are like out of the oven. The brioche bread its fabulous. I would say for all your bread needs come here it's made on site. The staff is lovely and I think I will make this part of my bakery rotation. I like to go to small business owned bakeries and this is a great one. If you're in the area go in and check it out. They have a little parking behind the building, but mostly street parking.

Dabe M.

Yelp
Great little bakery! I frequently stop in for breads for special occasions and the occasional (fantastic) brownie. I recommend trying the apple cranberry bread as well. Exceptionally nice staff too! A great alternative to the big grocery stores and worth an extra stop on your shopping trip.

Neven F.

Yelp
I walked in here today because of a promotion I received at a venture I'm currently engaged in. To celebrate, I decided to do what any 20-something would, and that's get a cookie. I've passed by BSB a few times and I remember the smell sometimes lingering in the air when I sat down for coffee at Cafe Sasso (shameless plug). Two dollars later and an inch in the waistline bigger - I was satisfied. If you have access to a heat source, I would recommend warming up the cookie if that's all you're getting! Next time I'm trying to bread!

Noah E.

Yelp
When we used to live nearby, I would walk with my daughter to Baker Street weekly. Always great bread which is baked fresh daily. The pastry selection is great as well. Customer service doesn't always seem overly friendly but still a great place to visit

Connie S.

Yelp
I've been to Baker Street a handful of times. They have a good bread selection. I've tried the honey sesame which is soft and tastes great when toasted and topped with peanut butter. I've tried a few of the baked goods: cannoli, scone, pecan twist puff and cinnamon roll. Overall, I have enjoyed everything I've tasted, not blown away, but definitely would recommend and return. Their products taste very homemade and constitute standard bakery fare.

Yelp
It's odd to me that this place does not have more reviews especially being in a trendy, yelp loving area. I often stop on the way home to pick up bread for dinner or a dessert. When you walk into this place the aroma makes you smile! The smell of fresh baked bread and pastries will make you want to buy everything! I love all the bread but buyer beware that bread goes fast and you may not have the best selection. I went at 4:00 one day and the only crunchy bread they had was sourdough and rosemary ( no regular Italian or etc) so be sure to call ahead and ask them to put it aside. Their baked goods are delicious however the pastry case is small. Their brownies are the best brownie I have ever had! I did order a cake for a family members birthday and it was just average. I don't know what they do with leftover pastries but wish they had a discount day old bin!

Natalie M.

Yelp
The offerings here are amazing! From breads, rolls, cupcakes, cake slices and pastries. Everything I have tried has been delicious! All quality ingredients and fresh. My favorite item here is their cherry cheese round. It is huge, filled with cheese, cherries and a sugary crumble topping. Drooling writing this. Recently brought the butter flake rolls to thanksgiving dinner and they were a hit! Parking can be tricky but sooo worth it to partake in the best bakery in Rochester!

Amy H.

Yelp
I always come here when I pick up my coffee from cafe sasso. It's my favorite bakery! Fresh sweets and friendly staff. Stop by when you're strolling on park ave or if you happen to be in the coffee shop next door (p.s. the sweets at cafe sasso are not worth it).

Matthew C.

Yelp
Walked by dozens of times and finally went in--we'll definitely stop in again! Friendly people and delicious babka.

Pinky C.

Yelp
Smells great when you walk in the door - and has a good look but the selection was a bit sparse for a bakery and what I was expecting. The pictures here on yelp show amazing looking baked goods - and a nice supply of them. I was looking to purchase a selection of pastries but the only thing they really had more than one or two pieces of were gingerbread cookies and cupcakes. Everything else was one of this or one of that. After driving around for a bit to get a parking spot I was a little annoyed that I had to now go to another bakery to finish my purchase. The few items I did buy were ok. Just average, nothing special. I have been told they are known for their bread. I didn't try the bread--if I can ever get a parking spot again I will try their bread. Still imo a bakery should have a nice selection of bake goods along with bread.

Gail Y.

Yelp
I tried to walk on by without stopping here because I just had a large breakfast and some coffee nearby. But, I literally made a u-turn after passing it on the return home because the aroma of fresh.baked bread couldn't be resisted. My excuse was that I had to pick up a couple of things for someone else. The pair of someones said the chocolate cupcakes were delicious. I guess I need to go back to get some for myself. What I did get for myself was the giant heart lintzer cookie that was sort of like a cookie made of pastry and filled with just the right amount of jam. Not too hard, not too sweet; just right. I pretty much shamelessly ate it all by myself, saving a small chunk for my husband to try. He lovingly shared his jalapeño and cheese bun with me. Well, in my defense there were three in a bag. They were quite spicy, of course, and even after a day-old toasting, was delicious and "hand-tearable". I will definitely return. At the very least, you need to walk by to get a whiff of their baked goods. It is the "icing on the cake" that gives the Park Ave. neighborhood that extra charm!

Dirk W.

Yelp
FOUND IT!!!!! I finally found a bakery that gets cupcakes right! None of that mile high frosting you end up scraping off. None of that oooey gooey squishy piped in filling (that is just gross who thought up such a horrible thing?) Baker Street is what a bakery used to be, fresh baked breads and pastries, made to order or just off the shelf. I can't jog pass the door without stopping for a bear claw, muffin, strudel, or just for a bag of rolls. At home right now I have a half bag of rolls and a cherry strudel pastry....well half of one. So I am off to finish it now.

Deb C.

Yelp
Beyond rude service. Called and person didn't identify this was where I was calling. When I apologized for not hearing that it was indeed the bakery, he said it was because he didn't say the business name. Told me they weren't taking any special orders and I could come in and get something out of the case. He wasn't going to "stress out his decorator any more than they already were". So, pretty much, come in & take your chances that they'll have something you want. DON'T BOTHER... There are plenty of great/better bakeries around that would appreciate business.

Felicka N.

Yelp
Ok, this review is based solely on my experience on not on any of their goods. The hours posted on the website, on yelp, and on the door are all the same...they open at 6am. Well, I went here last Thursday morning at 6:30am, to buy for my office, and was greeted with a locked door. I knocked, because I saw people working inside, and got the pretty annoying response of employees shaking their heads and mouthing that "we're closed" and "not open yet". Really? This place was supposed to open 30 minutes ago and I can't even get the door opened and have someone explain to me why the doors are locked. Poor service. I won't give 1 star because I'm sure the place is lovely.... once you are allowed inside and can actually purchase something.

Andrew G.

Yelp
Man oh man, these people really know how to bake. Down on Park Ave. near Culver Road, there's a place where you can get oils and vinegars, and next to it is this little bakery called Baker Street Bakery. It is heavenly if you haven't been. They do a mass arrangement of cookies and pastries and breads and the second you walk in, you could just melt from the sweet aroma of everything all around you. If you're looking for freshly made insanely delicious bread, this is the place to go! They've got that gift for sure. More people really need to learn of this place because what they do is truly superb. So HUGE recommendations for their multigrain breads, their twisted bread-pastry pretzels (one was swirled with raspberry jam that I shared with a friend and we raved about it all week long), and their jumbo cookies! They're also usually out during the summer festivals, so this is one place you definitely don't want to miss!!

Cece C.

Yelp
First I want to say I love how this place is set up inside. So many fresh baked goods on display. Customer service was great with a very friendly staff. Had a custom cake done for my sons birthday. A chocolate layered cake with a peanut buttercream frosting. Cake was moist and had great texture but I found it lacking any chocolate flavor. The frosting was ok. It had a great peanut butter taste but I thought it was really buttery. Other people who tried it loved the frosting! For an 8in it was about $30. Also tried a loaf of italian which was amazing. I also like that they slice it for you if needed. It was very light and fresh tasting. Definitely will be going back to try many other yums.

Ancient A.

Yelp
This review focuses only on scones. For some reason, other bakeries feel the need to tweak scones and make them softer...more like cake. People who do that bring shame upon their families. They should be publicly humiliated and pelted with rotten fruit. Scones are not cake. If you want cake, buy a cake. This place knows how to make scones. Go get some right now. Clean your coffee pot, make some coffee, and enjoy the simple bliss of great scones. Did I mention that I like scones? The venue is very clean and welcoming. If you appreciate beautifully designed workplaces, stay a while and gaze upon their fabulous work tables. I want one. And, the staff is invariably very friendly and helpful. That's a recurring theme in my grouchy reviews. If I don't like giving my money to certain people, it doesn't matter how good the food is. These people are sweet! Another reviewer said that some of the products here were too dry. That person is probably too immature to appreciate subtle flavors, and needs everything to be gobbed over with frosting. That's a whole different baking style which you can easily find at any number of Italian bakeries around town. Or, pour a half cup of sugar over a stick of butter, eat it, and die.

Shirin P.

Yelp
Went in to get desserts at this place because we didn't like the dessert choices at the restaurant we had lunch at. Wanted to get one or two items to share but ended up buying 4 monster pastry items. All were fantastic and fresh. As soon as we walked in the door I felt my nose had an orgasm with the smell of fresh bread and sweet pastries. I wish I lived close, so I could go in every day for fresh pastries. The employee who waited on us was super cute and polite. We asked if they also have coffee and he said he would put out a fresh pot for us if we want, even though they normally don't brew coffee after certain hour in the morning. We declined and bought coffee from a coffee shop across the street but I thought that was a very nice gesture on their part. Good service good products, some people know how to run their business.

Mel P.

Yelp
Ordered a half sheet cake for a bridal shower. I wanted something nicer than a supermarket cake without spending $120. I was in the area so walked in to ask about their options. Baker Street was exactly what I was looking for, though the info on their website doesn't make this option super clear. The cake was beautiful and delicious and just the right price point.

Joanna S.

Yelp
Just the smell walking in is amazing. Had a blueberry muffin and was awesome. Got some rolls and a rosemary baguette and both were great. Will definitely be back

Jamie L.

Yelp
Such a wide array of baked goods to choose from! I got a loaf of honey sesame and it was really good. They don't have set specials or sales though, it is usually done on a day by day basis. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable too.

Casey L.

Yelp
Very friendly and patient staff! I stopped in this morning to buy a loaf of bread and scones. Impulse purchased two croissants and wound up eating both on the way home-- so good. The bread makes excellent toast, too.

Nicole M.

Yelp
Carbs glorious carrrbs! I have been here twice in the last week, and boy do I love me some fresh treats. Last timeI had one of the flaky apple turnovers, and a bite of my friend's butter croissant (so good with some jam!). Then again, for the second indulgent breakfast we got some pain au chocolat. Nothing beats a fresh pastry. I even got lucky enough to have them fresh out of the oven. Both times I also bought fresh bread, rustic italian and sourdough. I love the fact that they slice it up for you right then in there, instead of hacking it half-hazardly in your kitchen. Stays fresh if you keep it in the fridge, perfect for my panini press at home, or a delicious piece of toast in the morning. Yum, yum...I am a frequent flyer now. Like others say, the cash under 10 dollar rule still remains, or you can use your card if you want to spend more. I have yet to try their cupcakes, cheesecakes, other danishes, pies and large cakes. They have beautiful gourmet cakes for about $15, a total steal. Promote your local business, and you won't be disappointed! They have coffee, but I might buy a pastry here next week and then pop into boulder next door for a latté.

Chad F.

Yelp
Baker Street is a fantastic bakery, great fresh bread (which they always have samples available of), excellent cupcakes, cookies, and other treats. Has a little bit of seating inside and benches outside (in addition to some tables in the summer months). Has hours that you have to get used to which is the only issue I have ever had. The staff is always incredibly friendly, very helpful, and will answer and explain any questions that you do have. I would love to always get my bread from here over the grocery store, there is nothing better than some nice warm fresh bread.

Breanna B.

Yelp
Danger! Smells coming from BSB will in fact provoke you to buy something. The day I visited, the door was open and the smells of their breads and sweets were wafting through the air along Park Ave. I couldn't resist, I had to walk in. I'm a sucker for a good loaf of bread and wanted to give their sourdough a try. They sliced it right there for me. This loaf cost me just under $5. Nearly the same price for bread at Wegmans, although, I'd prefer to support these folks. And, I like that the crust on the bread isn't too tough. Great for a sandwich or toasted. I'm also aware that Cibon uses their bread for the bruschetta and paninis, which also makes my heart smile. **Cash for everything under $10.

Amy M.

Yelp
I love baker street's large apple pie, I'm from a family of professional bakers and it is hands down the only pie that has ever come close to my mother or grandmother's pie. Great, flaky crust and NO nasty goopy filling, it's the REAL DEAL made with upstate apples. MUST TRY!!! We like their cakes too, we've really gotten hooked on the tiramisu cake, more cake than tiramisu but it has good flavor for a special occasion. Their danish cheese pockets are like a cheese danish on steroids. Zap in the microwave for a few seconds and it's heaven. All the breads we've tried have been good too AND they sell Pittsford dairy milk! Some of their other pastries are a bit dry and their loaf/keeping cakes are hit or miss (which is why i'm not giving 5 stars)

Rina S.

Yelp
As I eat my toast, made from Baker Street Bakery bread, I wonder why I have never written a review. This bakery is by far the best I've ever been to. Wether it's bread, croissants, scones, or biscotti, I have yet to find something that doesn't taste amazing. They are also very welcoming in the store and will help you find what you're looking for. This is my go to for all my baked good needs. If you're looking for something yummy, I suggest Baker Street!

Em R.

Yelp
I love going to Baker Street Bakery to get bread. They have a great selection (if not very varied) of high quality breads and other baked goods. Their service is always nice. It is a small bakery so I they may not have exactly what you're looking for, but if you're flexible enough and ask questions, they will steer you to a great choice of bread. I am not the biggest fan of some of their sweet baked goods, but that's just personal taste. However their bagettes and sourdoughs are always great

Tina W.

Yelp
I've been going to Baker Street for quite some time now, mainly for bread. I love it. Although you can buy their bread at various local stores, if you go directly to the bakery it's a bit cheaper and you can get a bread punch card. After you buy 12 loaves the next one is free. Because I don't live nearby, I buy several loaves at a time and freeze them. They freeze well. I love the honey sesame bread! Aside from that, they often have a basket of 50% off day old items. I've had several of their pastries and they're all delicious. I have yet to try one of their cakes or pies but they look wonderful. It's only a matter of time. The staff is always friendly and accommodating. They always seem to have free samples of something to entice you with and it works! The kitchen is in full view so that you can watch them working, mixing, baking decorating. Love this place!

Rachel G.

Yelp
Cakes here are beautiful...and even more importantly, delicious. They are so pretty though, you may not want to eat them...but go ahead anyways.

Kathleen M.

Yelp
I have posted a comment before, but it was filtered. This is a honest review...please do not filter.. I have tried many of the breads at Baker Street Bakery and they are all delicious. I even ordered brioche slider rolls and a whole wheat for a party we were having for my daughter's 30th birthday . Everything was absolutely delicious and fresh. Our still favorite bread is the Sesame Honey Wheat!! Absolutely fantastic with pb & j. I have tried some of their pastries.cookies, brownies, cupcakes...and they are just ok. What they started out as a Bread bakery is still their strong suit. Don't hesitate to stop in for their delicious breads!!

Thu M.

Yelp
They were good with taking the order, and the cake was decorated professionally. Everyone at work loved it and asked me where the bakery was. Unfortunately, they did not go by the hello kitty design I asked, though they themed the colors like the character, but not the actual thing I wanted. I should have come in to design it better, so I'm gonna try that at a different bakery next time. The women were very nice when I picked up the cake (white cake with raspberry ganache and cream layered fillings). Too bad no samples before I buy.. Cake was $40 to feed 10 people.

Aryeh C.

Yelp
Baker Street is my favorite place on Park Avenue. Pretty much everything here is great, but my personal favorite is the Classic Pan, just a simple loaf of white bread for three bucks. It's so good that you can eat a slice of it plain and it tastes amazing; stick it in the fridge and you have bread for sandwiches for a week. My wife and I got our wedding cake from Baker Street, and it did not disappoint--one of our guests, a serious cake aficionado, said it was the best cake he'd ever had.

Peter B.

Yelp
I used to walk from my apt. down the street, in the snow, at 6:30 in the morning before work, just to get some of this bread to have with dinner. Best bakery around, I think. The popover biscuits are the best thing you will ever eat in your life too, by the way.

Josh L.

Yelp
This place is great. The bread is the best in the City and the workers there are great. You can even go there late at night after you're out at the bars and talk with the night shift bakers who are a riot. Great bunch of guys. My favorites are either the cinnamon rolls or the butter flake rolls. You cannot just eat one! And the car towing thing has nothing to do with the bakery. It's the jagoff landlord that owns the parking lot who gets those scumbag tow truck guys. Overall a great place and Great people.

Chris C.

Yelp
Thank goodness I do not live close to this bakery. I would be as big as jubba the hut. The apple raisin bread is so tasty, the cheese pocket pastry and the pan au chocolat is tasty. It's a fave place to go to when I am visiting family. The staff are warm and friendly - a Mom and Pop bakery feel. Keep up the wonderful baked goodies coming!

Anna S.

Yelp
I love the smell of fresh bread! My favorite here is an almond kuchen. And their little dinner rolls are great. Get there early though for the good stuff.
