One of the best banh mi I have had in my life. Better than some Los Angeles locations.

Google
Pretty tasty banh mi, especially the grilled pork one. I wish there was a bit more protein in the sandwich but overall it was good.

One of my favorite Vietnamese bakeries in the area. It truly is a hole in the wall type of place. It is very small with an equally small, slightly sketchy looking parking lot. The interior is a no frills or deco type of bakery and is all grab and go. They aren't as busy or offer as much items as their competitors, but I wouldn't write them off because of it. I'm happy to say that their deals on the sandwiches (buy 5 get 1 free) and the pate chaud or banh bao (buy 10 get 1 free) are still going strong. We ordered 2 sandwiches, 10 pate chaud and 1 banh bao for my son. Everything we had tasted delicious and the prices were decent in comparison to their competitors. We all thoroughly enjoyed the food. I did feel like my grilled pork sandwich could've used my meat in it, but that's my only complaint. I do prefer their pate chaud over most of the other bakeries in the area though. The flavor is just so much better.

Google
This small little shop is easy to miss but when not too crowded, serves up some good banh mi and other dishes too. I really like that they loaves they serve are not too chewy like they are at New Saigon. There is plenty of filling in each loaf and they are generous with the veggies as well. Custom banh mi orders accepted. This is strictly a take out place - no dining inside. Cool. Large orders may take a little long as there seems to be only 2 people prepping orders in back. But, still a place I'd come back to. I've been back and they are still consistently good.

Google
This place is selling affordable banh mi sandwiches. Lots of options to choose from. I got the grilled pork banh mi. It was loaded with pork, along with the usual cilantro, daikon, and carrots, all in a flaky baguette. Whenever I'm in Denver again, I have to try their bakery section!

Google
4.5/5 - total gem and hole in the wall. Cheap. Still bikable from downtown. Delicious.

Google
I highly recommend Baker's Palace to anyone in search of banh mi. They use freshly baked bread, and the quality of their ingredients is truly exceptional.

Google
Excellent Banh Mi! Great size for the price with a lot of fixings. I got the grilled pork banh mi, $3.50. It was super tasty, lots of jalapeño and cilantro were well balanced, the pork was good the flavor was great but a little different, it didn’t have a fish sauce flavor but I can’t put my finger on it exactly. That is what makes a great banh mi, the explosion of opposing flavors create confusion and delight for your tastebuds.

Google
The combo banh mi is super good! Spicy and refreshing, perfect balance.

Yelp
Great food and friendly employees. I'm excited to go back to try lots of other things.

Yelp
Pretty tasty but a little pricey now a days. Service was as to be expected for a prepared to order kitchen.

Yelp
In recent years, CO has seen an uptake in banh mi spots opening across the state but Bakers Palace still remains number one in my heart. I have tried other locations but they are just decent compared to bakers palace. It still reigns supreme and sometimes it's better than banh mi locations I've tried in California and Texas. Don't judge a book by its over. It may seem a little run down if you look at it from the outside but the food just speaks for itself. It is a family owned banh mi shop where they have a variety of banh mi, che, boba drinks, steam buns, and pate chaud. The baguette is baked at Bakers Palace and it just tastes wonderfully. You can throw it in the air fryer the next day and it'll be fine. The pate banh mi is my favorite. We ask the vegetables on the side so we can set it up to our preference and the banh mi won't become soggy if we decide to eat it later. The pate chaud and steam buns are one of my favorite breakfast items I buy to save for the next day. The steam bun is quite big but it has a lot of stuff inside. Unlike other places I've tried, the steam bun bread is still very soft and moist. It doesn't taste like freezer burn which is nice. The pate chaud is just one of the best here. It's a nice balance between pastry and meat.

Yelp
Great banh mi shop that has been around for a while now and still serves the best in Denver. Bread is always fresh, crisp on the outside and soft in the middle. Buy 5 sandwiches and get the 6th for free. Definitely worth checking out if you love banh mi.

Yelp
They deserve the 4.5 rating. Best grilled beef Banh mi I ever had. Rice cakes are delish Can't wait to go back

Yelp
Friendly and fast lunch! Banh Mi was good and fresh. Meat could have been more plentiful and flavorful, but still all around yummy. Steamed bun surprised me with a little egg in it, which I enjoyed. Strong flavor of black pepper wasn't my preference, but still yummy and filling.

Yelp
This the first time I've been here, but definitely not the last. This is a small mom and pop shop so expect to wait for your food. I ordered a grilled pork banh mi and a mixed fruits chè. Both were delicious!! The banh mi was full of veggies and the pork was super tender. The pork was very savory and probably the least sweet of all the banh mi places I've tried. However, I love how savory each bite was. The bread was perfect! Crunchy but doesn't cut the roof of your mouth and super airy. The che was very sweet and 80% toppings! The owners were super nice as well! This might be my new go to banh mi shop!

Yelp
On my way to tend to other business on Federal, I noticed the flashing OPEN neon sign at this unassuming hole in the wall. Once I saw Tiem Banh Mi, I knew I had to stop by. Turns out the actual name of the Vietnamese sandwich shop is Baker's Palace. How cute. Before I walked in I noticed all the steam and condensation that was building up inside the windows and doors. They were obviously cooking up something. Hopefully something good. So far I've been underwhelmed with the sandwich shops in Denver. They just don't remind me of the ones I had growing up in Houston. I will tell you that this place comes pretty close. I ordered the THIT NUONG Banh mi. I loved it. Crisp exterior and chewy interior to the baguette. Succulent pork meat. The right ratio of Pickled radish and carrot. Fresh cilantro and jalapeño slices. All it really needed was an order of pate inside and it would have been sensational. Nonetheless a very respectable and courteous sandwich shop experience. It just happens to be a few doors down from the behemoth New Saigon Banh mi shop. But I will tell you this one is much better.

Yelp
Got a Combination (#1) to go and it tastes sooo fresh. Bread has an awesome crunch and each bite makes you hungry for another. My sandwich was cut in a perfect half. 10/10 would recommend and i'll be back!

Yelp
On the outside, it doesn't look like much. On the inside, it's the same but... with Vietnamese goodies you can pick-and-choose from prior to ordering a banh mi sandwich. I've been coming to this location for years and Bakers Palace was once the spot my husband and I used to pick up sandwiches for lunch before hiking with our children (COVID started and we stopped hiking). Usually upon entering, there is a line and/wait to order and receive banh mi. I always take it as a great sign since everything should come out fresher. Out of all the banh mi shops, this is still hands-down my family's favorite. Oh. What do we or others usually get? Grilled steak, pork, or a combination banh mi paired with Vietnamese coffee. Simple yet bursting with flavors.

Yelp
Easy parking, local mom and pop banh mi shop. I love that they open bright and early so you can get your Sammy fix for breakfast. This may sound strange their vegetarian banh mi is THE BEST!! Yup they use all vegetarian ingredients and even have fake meat. I've heard they can do a vegan version too. Of course the go to special is always delicious too. You can call ahead or walk in. Parking is easy and on the side or the building. The owner who runs the shop is super sweet and nice ! One downside is their bread is so, so. It's a little too crusty, dry for me but hey you're in Denver. I can't complain :)
google avatar

Yelp
Simple fact: The best Asian food is found in hole-in-the-Wall places like Baker's Palace. Go to PF Chang's for impressive decor, high prices, and generic Asian. A delightful little square savory meat pie in a delicate flaky crust for breakfast, and a couple of huge spring rolls for lunch, set me back less than $6.00. I'd love to return to discover what everything else is! My only suggestion to the Baker would be to place more descriptive signs out (in English) so we know what's on the menu!

Yelp
This spot is a hidden gem! The sandwiches are super good price and they are delicious. The bread was so soft on the inside and perfectly crisp on the outside. I tried the chicken and grilled steak and both meats were seasoned very well. They do a lot of vegetables on the banh mi too. From the pictures, I imagined that this spot looked very different inside. It's tucked away on federal, but the inside is very inviting. They have a variety of snacks and drinks to purchase in addition to boba and banh mi. It almost feels like a corner store vibe. I'd try it out! The sandwiches are a little smaller than New Saigon, which is down the street. The flavors are a little bit different between the shops and it's definitely worth trying out to see which one you like better. I think both are extremely equally delicious!

Yelp
Let me start by saying that banh mi is one of my favorite larger sized snacks. Some/most may consider banh mi a meal but I tend to eat a lot. On my quest to find the best banh mi in Denver, I've tried quite a few different places and I think I may have found my new favorite place. The bread here is just hard enough on the outside for the good mouth feel without destroying the roof of your mouth. I've had that issue with a lot of different places. The vegetable to meat ratio is great. The vegetables taste fresh and crisp. The meats have a nice clean taste to them without being too greasy or fatty. Mayo is applied sparingly which prevents a really heavy, fatty taste. I really enjoyed the banh mi here and will definitely be coming back. If I had to be nit picky and pick something out that I didn't like, it would be that the size of the banh mi here is a tad bit smaller than other places I've been. Again, really not a big enough issue for me to consider going elsewhere.

Yelp
I actually prefer this Vietnamese bakery over the one down the street which I tend to see as overcharging. Bakery palace is humble and more reasonably priced and the quality is better as the warm products were kept warm and nothing on the shelf appeared old or below standards
google avatar

Yelp
A friend recommended stopping here to get some banh mi sandwiches before we went to Pikes peak. He told us that when he first moved to Denver, he would literally eat the banh mi's here everyday. Well, if I lived in Denver, I'm not sure about eating this everyday but I would certainly eat here often. Yes, it's THAT good! The main reason why the banh mi's are so good is that the bread is made fresh daily on site. While we were waiting for our banh mi's, there were several people that came and asked if they can buy the bread. I only ended up getting 3 banh mi's to go this time around but next time I will be sure to take advantage of the buy 5 get 1 free offer. We also ended up getting the pork bun and some bubble teas. They were also very good.

Yelp
The Boulevard this shop sits on is full of Vietnamese sandwich/drinks stores. I come here because it's fresh, the people are always so nice, they take credit card with no minimum (this seems to be a problem at the other places because one sandwich is under $4 but with a card, you need to buy more. Kind of defeats the purpose if you came here for a quality low priced meal). Most sandwiches are under $4, very traditional and a wide variety of drinks! I def recommend this place and have been coming here since I was a little girl (for over 20 years). One thing is that the coffee ordered is always gone in a few sips bc the cup is full of ice. The coffee is so strong so perhaps we don't need that much but it feels a little over priced to be gone that fast. Good coffee though! Just one small point of truthful feedback :) I'll still order it though!

Yelp
I wish you were located closer... like in my backyard. This place does not disappoint. Go here to get your bahn mi fix in. Need to make another run soon.
google avatar

Nikki L.

Yelp
Pretty good. I like New Saigon betters. The bread is better, bigger and cheaper but this place isn't bad at all. They have a buy 5 get one free bahn mi offer.
google avatar

Adrienne L.

Yelp
Love this mom n pop shop! Owners are so nice and friendly. The sandwiches are a bit smaller compared to new Saigon but they are slightly cheaper as well. Still has a decent amount of meat. Not as much as new Saigon but not skimpy like ba le sandwiches either. Just the right amount. I do love the Banh mi flavoring here more than new Saigon to be honest. It reminds me of authentic sandwiches that you can find in California or even Vietnam. If you buy 5 sandwiches you get 1 free yay!! Also I'm a huge fan of their sweet red rice wrapped in rice? Paper (xoi gac) as well. If you want more savory rice then their shredded chicken rice (xoi ga) is located right next to the red ones and I love those too. My favorite dessert are the sweet rice balls in ginger and also their fresh sugar cane drinks. They're closed on Tuesdays so watch out !
google avatar

Trieu G.

Yelp
I have been to Banh Mi shops all over the US. This one is surprisingly the best. They make their own special butter and pate. The servings are plentiful and the bread...the baby pain bread is made fresh in the shop! It's lightly crispy on the outside and soft and fluffy on the outside. This whole in the wall is a magical place that delivers fresh ingredients and grilled meats that beat any Viet restaurant around. I buy five and get the one free! I have 3 of them. They are that good! Get the Grilled Pork and add Pate! Trust me, the combo will make you buy two more.
google avatar

Amiel C.

Yelp
It's not the kind of banh mi I used to have in LA but Baker's Palace is pretty good. Each item is reasonably priced and portion is pretty big for such low price. food is fresh. Service is fast. The shop is straight forward. Will 100% visit again!
google avatar

Yelp
When I die, wrap me up in a Bahn Mi from Baker's palace, because even if I'm sent to he||, I'll be wrapped up tightly in a heavenly garden of flavor upon a fresh, soft baguette. Everything about my "6 for 5" deal here was perfect: customer service was polite, quick, and without the fake Denver "nice," neighborhood still holds its character and of course the food was incredible. We tried a panel of flavors included two beef varieties, patê, pork skin, a classic chicken and more. I'm in town every other month and if I'm the hood, always stop by.
google avatar

Amanda N.

Yelp
A staple banh mi place that is highly regarded in Denver. I have been coming here for years and the banh mi is consistently good. The sandwiches are so affordable that it makes a for a perfect lunch break or to pack to-go if you'll be out for the day. The family behind the counter is so friendly! I came in once in my rave outfit before going to a show and instead of making me feel embarrassed (because I was), they complimented my entire outfit and asked for details! You won't ever be disappointed with a banh mi from Baker's. My favorite is Thit Nuong (grilled pork)!
google avatar

Joe E.

Yelp
Baker's Palace is my new go-to for Bánh mì sandwiches. Despite their amazing low prices compared to most nearby competitors in the area, they are incredibly filling and high quality considering the low price. The bread, fillings, and sauce are all great on the several sandwiches I've tried.

Caitlyn V.

Yelp
This was one of my favorite bánh mì shops from my childhood, went here today with my mother since we were nearby, thought we stop in to get chè (Vietnamese dessert drink) it was disappointing we ordered 2 #9 and the sad part was there was barely any fruits in the drinks one slice of Jack fruit that's it, it's filled with jelly but one small piece of Jack fruit that was probably rotting tasted very bitter and quiet soggy, ice took most of the space in the cup barely any coconut milk, for the bánh mì thịt, it was good as always nothing much had changed. Probably won't be visiting this shop anymore. (Heard they changed ownership)
google avatar

Adrian S.

Yelp
Where to begin ! The customer service was excellent ! The lady who asked me what I would like to order was extremely nice and even made a few suggestions for my next visit, which will be in a few days ! Tasty sandwiches and plenty of options that won't kill your pockets ! I rarely give 5 star reviews btw.
google avatar

Yelp
You guys need to go here. They are super friendly and sweet. Reasonable prices and large portions. Most importantly the food is delicious. There's a ton of variety of prepared foods that's made fresh. I could see the aunties in the back making the pork buns from scratch. The banh mi is made to order and they are large and don't skimp on you with the filling. The bread is thin and airy. I had the sticky rice wrapped in a wafer and it was fresh, chewy and flavorful but not too sweet. I highly recommend. It reminded me of Vietnam. I got the pork buns and pate chaud (meat filled flaky pastry) too. I haven't eaten them yet because the banh mi and sweet sticky rice was so filling. I'm in love with this place. Go here instead of ba le sandwiches! Highly recommend.
google avatar

Tina H.

Yelp
This is the ONLY place we get banh mi in Denver. Worth the drive, and we always stock up when we go. Good quality, good prices, authentic. The discounted pricing starts at quantities of 6 -- Buy 5, Get the 6th Free. They are good about asking if you want the sandwiches made or to keep the veggies on the side (which you should do if you're not going to be eating right away!) And they have the sauce for the dac biet (combo) sandwiches here, which a lot of places don't. Ask for it!
google avatar

Ellen L.

Yelp
So I used to go to Ba Le for my banh mi needs, until they jacked up their prices and I needed an alternative. Went to Yelp and found amazing reviews on this place. This is now our go-to banh mi place and I recommend it to family and friends. The service is great and you get a deal, buy 5 get 1 free. The sandwiches are bigger and filled with so much meat. Don't go anywhere else.
google avatar

Lien H.

Yelp
Wow, I haven't been here since they changed owners... which has probably been a couple of years. The last owners were great, so I really didn't think the new ones would be able to live up to the previous owners, I was wrong. Their sandwiches are delicious, but what makes them different from the other Banh mi shops is that they make this little meat filled pastry.. I honestly don't know what they're called, but they're delicious. The pastry is buttery and flaky and they only make a certain amount each day, so you have to get them before they sell out. Service is great, the girl that works at the register is super cheerful and really sweet.

Yelp
Been coming here since I was young and everything still tastes the same. One of my go-to bakery whenever I'm craving a Vietnamese Banh Mi Sandwich. I always go for the combination with head cheese ( it's the last number) and it has extra BBQ meat in it. It depends on who you deal with but they will give you a side of sauce to smoother on top of your sandwich. The people here are super friendly! Also, if you buy 5 sandwiches, you get one free. The deal isn't as great as back home (L.A.) where you buy two and get one for free but it's still pretty good.
google avatar

Florence V.

Yelp
I have grown up on this place and of all the places to get a Vietnamese sandwich, this is hands down, my favorite place. They have several varieties of Banh Mi, but I usually get the one with all the meats. If you buy 5 sandwiches, you get 1 free. The baguettes that they use for the sandwiches is what makes Baker's Palace stand out over other establishments. Of course, I buy more than just sandwiches because they have your typical Vietnamese desserts and also boba drinks. Because I don't always go to Federal Blvd, I see visiting Baker's Palace as a treat and usually overindulge (oh well ). The family who owns Baker's Palace are always super sweet and nice when taking and getting you your order. One thing is that the store is small and despite coming here for almost 2 decades, I still miss it when I drive north on Federal and usually have to make a u-turn to get back to it, but it's so worth it.

Yelp
Best Banh Mi in Colorado baby!!! Had the combo banh mi and it was fireeee recommend to anyone
google avatar

Ben K.

Yelp
Fantastic Bahn Mi sandwiches! People that run it are super friendly and prices are cheap. Go try it.
google avatar

Marsha M.

Yelp
This. Place. Rules. The absolute real deal, banh mi is affordable (should not cost more than $5 for true Viet banh mi), service at the counter is kind, courteous, and quick. TRY THE PORK BUNS --- absolutely game changing. $5 CC minimum, but there should be no problem going well beyond that. Try some of the fresh prepared Vietnamese sweet rice desserts or savory filled rice delicacies wrapped in banana leaves. This is the type of small business any city, but Denver especially, should value and support. In honest truth, I am heading there right now.
google avatar

Alisa N.

Yelp
Been going here since I was young. It is the only banh mi place I order from. The special red sauce they make is delicious and my favorite is the egg one, sooo good. There Vietnamese desserts are delicious as well, especially the sweet rice.

Yelp
If like me you subscribe to the belief that a crummy looking place on the inside has just as much potential to be a winner as a nice looking place, then you are off to a good start with Baker's Palace. You'd never mistake this place for a Palace... I've learned that when you are in Italy, ask the locals. In this case I was on Federal Blvd eating Vietnamese eating @ my favorite place in Denver, New Saigon, when I had the idea to ask our waiter where he liked to get "Bánh mì" which are Vietnamese sandwiches made on French Baguettes. I had watched a recent episode of Anthony Bourdain's "No Reservations" where he revisits Vietnam and on that episode, he pigs out on Bánh mì. So the waiter pointed me to a place only one block up, Bakers Palace. Had it not been recommended, I would never had stopped. Am I glad that I did. They were out of the Pork Bánh mì so I got the #1, the combo which was basically ham and cold cuts type sliced meat. Wow, it was delicious! And only $2.75! My kids got a cake sampler that they liked. I will definitely be going back to check this place out! More info on Bahn Mi here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bahn_mi

Yelp
Another one of my favorite haunts - till the new ownership. The counter people are a bit standoffish at times. I would give it a 5 - but the new owners appear to be skimping on the meat quality now. They did start selling a lot of new items, so I'm not that bummed out over some dry meat on occasion... If you are on a budget after a long day of drinking expensive coffee down town, head over here. It is by far the cheapest sandwich you will find in town - especially being made on an in house, fresh made baguette. Most Bahn Mi sammiches on the board are $2.75. I dig on the chicken or the pork. As an added bonus, they have a pretty good Bahn Bao - steamed bun with Vietnamese sausage and half a boiled egg. It's only $2.00. I haven't tried it lately, but I use to get extra veggies added for no extra charge. What can I say, I'm a sucker for that stuff. Except for the Jalapeños, normal dose for me, they get some dang hot ones sometimes. If you are feeling bold, try some of the deserts or special items in the display case. I got something a couple weeks ago that was pretty dang good. I only wish I could remember what it was, sigh.... Bottom line: Super cheap, filling and decent quality.
google avatar

Dustin R.

Yelp
Best Bahn Mi I've had in Denver and the staff is incredibly nice and helpful. The bread is really what sets them apart in my opinion, the sandwich fillings are on par with other places but the bread here is top notch.
google avatar

Colter H.

Yelp
Great bread, good value, mediocre filling. Date of Visit: 9/19/16 I found my favorite Bahn Mi spot closed on Mondays, but noticed that Baker's Palace was quite close, and open, so I gave it a go. It's a quite small spot with a carryout area and very friendly service. As far as the sandwiches themselves, they have probably the best baguettes you'll find in the area. I'm not a bread-head, but these were *legit*. That said, I the fillings were lacking a bit in both seasoning and amount, including both meats and veggies. Additionally, their sammies are on the small side, i.e. you probably need two to equal the size of one of the other places in the area. Overall this is a solid spot, but they are overshadowed by their neighbors' offerings.
google avatar

Pamela M.

Yelp
I've been wanting to try banh mi for a very long time, and after asking around BP got the most votes so that's where we went. I ordered the #9 which seems to be a favorite of this place and it was very tasty. The only thing I'd change would be that I'd add a little more meat with more sauce, as it was a bit dry - but it was good. For the price, you can't beat it. (2) of us each had a banh mi and shared a dessert and our total was $7 and change. I'll definately be going back and trying something new.

Yelp
This place fell out of favor with me a couple years ago. To the point where I told myself I would never eat here again. I heard that they completely did a 180 and decided to give it another try. I am so glad I did. They open much earlier than the other banh mi shops (7am vs 10 am for Vinh xuong). I do like the bread at vinh xuong better, but the pork buns at bakers palace has no rivals really. I highly recommend it.
google avatar

Ken L.

Yelp
The freshest banh mi in town. They bake their items fresh and at that location. I recommend the charbroiled pork sandwich, the vietnamese iced coffee, the boba is soft and chewy in all the smoothies, and they do good Vietnamese dessert items. A must try for all who visit Denver. Don't be misled by the Torta and Mexican type illustrations on the window.

Yelp
I love this place, I used to go here every weekend to pick up a banh mi and nuoc mia. This place has been a stable in my life and I've told everyone I meet about this place. Their banh mi is one of the best and cheaper ones in federal. The ingredients are super fresh, and it reminded me of when I used to live in Vietnam. I tried other places like new Saigon, or ba le, but their banh mi never really hit the right spot. My favorites from here is the banh pa ti so, banh bao, and nuoc mia. The owner is super nice and friendly. I love this place cause it's ran by a small family who just want to make a living. My organization would always use this place to cater for our fundraisers and everyone is always in awes with the amazing taste. The banh bao is super light and airy which is perfect. The banh pa ti so is super flakey and the meat filling has the perfect seasoning. Definitely recommend this to everyone who loves Vietnamese food. Also if you get a chance, try out their chicken rice, that they make daily. It's seasoned with a soy seasoning and its just the perfect seasoning. Not too salty or bland! Must try if you're ever in the area

Yelp
Nom nom... My SO likes to order more than 7 sandwiches at a time for just the two of us. It's usually gone within 2 days. Baker's Palace is a quaint little building off of Federal and if you don't keep your eyes open, you might miss it. Inside they offer a visual menu of the different sandwiches you can order. I hear they use olive oil? Good prices, good sandwiches!!
