Spent the weekend in Savannah, and on my last day, I found the best donuts in town. It's on the south side of town. Leave it to the Southerners.. LOL let's talk about it. Donuts are thick, fluffy, and covered in yummy deliciousness. Sean helped us, and he was really friendly and helpful. The Bavarian Cream, aka Boston Cream, was really good. The chocolate was not overly sweet and paired well with the custard. The Glazed donuts were thick and fluffy. The Peach Fritter was good but only had 2 or so slices of peach. Otherwise, it was just a glazed donut.

Baker's Pride is hands-down the best bakery in Savannah! From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with warm smiles and the irresistible smell of fresh-baked goods. I tried their donuts and a slice of their famous carrot cake—both were absolutely delicious, perfectly moist, and not overly sweet. The staff was super friendly and helpful, making the experience even better. I love that they’ve been a family-run spot since 1982—it really shows in the quality and care they put into everything. Can’t wait to come back for more treats! Highly recommend to anyone in the area.

WOW! This is the bakery to choose while visiting Savannah! Such a wide selection of donuts, pastries, cookies, sweet breads pies and cakes! Choosing just a couple things was so hard… so I chose three. 😀 There was a line at 9:30am, but it was totally worth the wait.

Lived in Savannah for almost 7 years and this was our first time coming here!! Loved everything about it. It had a cute mom and pop cafe vibe to it, and soon after I arrived, the line was to the door! They had many many selections but I had my eye on the cheese danish after seeing some photos. Little did I know, these things are gigantic! Banana for scale in the photo! I also got a persian donut and some donut holes. Their donuts are absolutely delicious!!! The cheese danish was a teeny bit on the dry side when you dont get a bit of cheese, but still delicious! The worker who helped me so nice and patient while I decided on my order. They also serve coffee and have seating for those who want to sit and enjoy their donut in house. We live about 3 min from here so we will definitely be coming back! The prices are reasonable too which is really great. A glazed donut is $1.75 and the cheese danish was $4.60. Donut holes are $0.40 each. I’ll come here over a coffee shop any day!

Every time I go here it's always a nice encounter. I was actually very happy because they had bear claws when I went in. Blueberry fritters actually is the name of them. And so I was really happy about that I was in and out able to place my order the customer service agent over the counter who was able to help me he was very polite he's always polite when I go in there. I don't know his name so next time I go I will ask him to leave him a nice review but he's a very nice guy he's always helpful I would recommend this place they have very nice desserts is quick and efficient you step in you order they have a couple of tables if you would like to sit down but for the most part we just go in and get what we want and then head out. I had an amazing visit and they had exactly what I wanted out even tried something new and it was great

Google
This bakery is a staple of Savannah culture. Sometimes there is a line, but everyone there is kind and patient. They know the quality and love put into their baked goods. You can get every try ing here from cakes, pies? Tarts, cheesecakes, twists, cannolis, donuts… you name it, but they are definitely touted as the best donut in town by everyone I know. And definitely their donut holes are underrated for how amazing they are! The service is so kind and walk you down the line, helping box your order. The payment process is a little chaotic with the restaurant layout but the people are so kind. The designs are unique. The quality is if your grandmother made everything from scratch. You cannot ask for better. Love this place!

Google
The restaurant is disgusting. The lady who was trying to take my order was very nasty. She wrote down everything I was ordering on a yellow note pad put it in her apron. Put on plastic gloves... Adjusted her face mask with the gloved hand. Then she proceeded to handle my order. I politely asked her to change the gloves. She changed the gloves, but proceeded to handle the paper she wrote my order on in her apron with the new gloves. I asked again about the gloves and she got very upset and said do you want someone else to get my order, I said no but I want you to stop touching everything insight with the same gloved hands you're packing my cookies and cupcakes with. Why can't they use tongs? It's highly unsanitary to handle a person's food with the same gloves you touch every thing else with. Very disgusting place.

Google
Genuinely some of the best pastries, and my favorite that I’ve found in Savannah! The workers are always super happy and friendly, be it during the early morning or in the middle of a rush. I love coming here!

Yelp
Best old school bakery in Savannah. The only bakery worth the drive and extra love handles.
google avatar

Tanya J.

Yelp
This is my favorite bakery in Savannah. There are no many options for sweet treats, and well as some mini quiches. The weekends get a little busy, so plan ahead to go early. If you're waiting in line, it is so worth it. There are some seating options inside, but customers normally take their orders to go. If you haven't tried bakers pride and you're in the area, you doing it wrong!
google avatar

Christa V.

Yelp
These donuts were 10/10. Fresh, lots of variety, friendly staff, cheap. It was an overall great experience. We will come back if we are ever in the area again!!
google avatar

Yelp
We stopped in on a Saturday afternoon. They explained that normally they would've sold out of a lot more, but the race kept them a little bit more stocked than normal. We were so lucky! I posted a picture of what I purchased, but I personally ate the glazed donut, the donut with chocolate frosting, And the donut with cake frosting on top. They were all exceptional! My husband devoured his cream, cheese, danish, and the danish with apple on top. Although there is seating inside, we took ours to go. The staff was friendly and very helpful. Casual atmosphere.

Yelp
After work, I had a sweet tooth and Baker's Pride came to the rescue. Thankfully, they're open until 6 PM! The shop has four large display cases filled with goodies, including cheesecake, brownies, cookies, donuts, and a variety of pastries. I decided to get a large cannoli, they offer two sizes. I also picked up a sugar cookie for each of my nephews, and they loved it!
google avatar

Monique B.

Yelp
Baker's Pride absolutely never ever disappoints for me. I have been addicted since my first bite. I have tried so many items and they never fail me. They are definitely amazing when it comes to quality items, taste and there variety. They also serve hot and iced coffee now which is also really good. Service is also amazing!

Cindy F.

Yelp
Great bakery. Always fresh. Service is always great. Super friendly. Donuts are our favorite and the cheese danish.
google avatar

Yelp
One of the best donuts I've ever had! I was visiting Savannah and decided to stop in for a quick sweet treat. Everything looked delicious, but I only got the vanilla frosted donut. Simply amazing! I wish I had tried some of their other pasties, but I will have to do so when I'm in the area again. The staff there all seemed friendly too.

Yelp
I go here everytime I visit Savannah GA. Last time I visited I forgot to take pics and do a review. My sister visited with my mom on the weekend of ¹1/16/2024. I usually ask her to get me a order when she visits and I cash app her. This time she surprised me and bought me some large chocolate chewies! They have small chewies also. I grew up eating the small ones at their sister bakery. Here they take it over the top! I can't describe how delicious these cookies are you will have to definitely try them for yourself. If I had some money money I would have to have a location of this bakery in my area!
google avatar

Cody M.

Yelp
Not sure how a half dozen regular donuts and 3 drinks came up to $28. I said to my kids "well for the price these better be some good donuts" These have entirely too much sugar. My kids and I eat donuts about weekly from a local place or Shipleys, so it's not like we're just picky. The chocolate is like a Walmart glazed donut with extra glaze and chocolate on top. We just threw these away.

Yelp
Wow! Visiting from out of state and needed something for breakfast for a group. Looked up bakeries and took an Uber to in unassuming strip mall and lucked out on this gem! Locals know about this place. It's THE place for bakery items. The place you go to get the stuff for the office and you get a donut for yourself to eat on the way back to the office. Staffed to get you in and out quick. And the ladies were sure nice and patient with us first timers, too!
google avatar

Daysha P.

Yelp
Why am I just discovering this gem??? Superb!!!! I'm not a girl who indulges much but these donuts were superior.....I can't wait to bring my daughter! EXCELLENT donuts!!!
google avatar

Linda S.

Yelp
We were visiting Savannah for my Mom's birthday and after looking on yelp i decided to order my mom cupcakes in the shape of her age. They were ready on time and were beautiful, but the cupcakes were dried out, old, the icing wasn't great and it was certainly pricey for what we got. Maybe if I had ordered a cake with icing/filling flavors more to our liking it would have been better, but based on what we got I wouldn't go back.
google avatar

Karen C.

Yelp
Thank you to the staff for a great experience! It's a cute bakery & the ladies room is delightfully decorated!!! Excited to try the my treats after the weekend!!! It did not disappoint! Thank you for the signs for credit & cash use.

Yelp
One of my favorite places to go to in Savannah if I'm in the area, it's a must stop for me. I love the original glazed donut probably one of the best donuts they have in addition to a number of other baked goods and pastries. Customer service is always on point with friendly staff, especially in the morning when it can get pretty busy. And as far as ambience goes, it's a Savannah institution so yeah it's in an old building but that's what gives it charm. This is a must stop for donut lovers!
google avatar

Liz M.

Yelp
This is the best Bakery ! I have been going here since I was a little girl. None of the "chain bakery's or chain donut shop's" measure up to the quality treats I have grown up on! Baker's Pride has THE BEST donuts I have ever had the pleasure of eating in my life! I highly recommend that every one try's their wonderful baked goods! God Bless!
google avatar

Alyssa M.

Yelp
These donuts are absolutely delicious, especially the fritters! I would definitely recommend the blueberry fritter, I even made a special trip to get it again. The ambiance is nice and there's a good amount of seating. The service is quick and mostly friendly.
google avatar

Yelp
I was walking by heading to Papa Murphys when I looked in the window and noticed that there were way more options today than there was when I first came. The staff are all really helpful and nice and when the line grows they come out of the back willingly to assist. Today I tried their glazed donut, lemon loaf and the jumbo poppyseed muffin. The glazed donut was good even without my usual attempt to warm everything up. The lemon loaf was dry and the frosting was more like fondant (a definite NO for me). But, the muffin was amazing (I did warm it up first and add butter) I've been looking for a good muffin because back home in Portland there are so many options to choose from. I'll definitely be back, but just for the muffins and maybe to try something else I've never tried.
google avatar

Isac K.

Yelp
I like to think that I have a high bar for donuts. These donuts were the best I've had in a while! Not overly sweet, and yeasty! The perfect combination. Plenty of flavors to choose from. If you like yeasty/doughy donuts, you have to try Baker's Pride. They are also good a day old.

Greg Y.

Yelp
We visited Tybee for the week and someone recommended Baker's Pride for our grandson's 1st birthday. Boy was that cake delicious-moist and flavorful, and superbly decorated. The attention to us and the other guests was outstanding. Our decorator even came out to make sure it was EXACTLY what we wanted. While waiting we looked at the shelves of dozens of different donuts, desserts, and pastries. This will be a staple as we visit Savannah more often.
google avatar

Marissa N.

Yelp
Cute little spot, with so many options. I went small and got a mini donut. I thought it was filled and asked what it was filled with. I loved the answer "nothing, but it can I can fill it". How do you pass up a pillowy fresh filled donut. You don't. I'm a fan of apple fritters and had to explore the peach fritter.

James B.

Yelp
We picked this bakery, based on the doughnuts that we enjoyed while staying at the Thunderbird Hotel. ( they serve exclusively "Baker'sPride" doughnuts at their motel.) Even though we arrived a half an hour before closing, they had an incredible selection of goodies. The gentleman who took our order was extremely helpful and friendly. This place deserves a Five Star rating. Needless to say; we will be back.
google avatar

Reese H.

Yelp
I would give more stars if I could. Y'all I'm in LOVE with this place. They had AMAZING service. Very welcoming and friendly people. But their food?? y'all I'm blown away. I got a red velvet cupcake and it is to die for. The real winners however are the DONUTS. Thick with a pound of icing on top. And so freaking good. I'm usually a Krispy Kreme gal but baker's pride has converted me. Please come check out this place!

Manuela T.

Yelp
Do not come here if you're looking for a reliable service. I ordered a birthday cake weeks in advance only to find the shop was closed when I was supposed to pick it up. Nobody was inside, nobody picked up the phone (Thursday at 9:15 am). They did not call, nor did they send me an email letting me know about any changes. The excuse was a snowstorm that took place 2 days prior, so this was totally predictable. Now I don't have a cake for my birthday. I am so, so disappointed.
google avatar

Chelsey C.

Yelp
Hands down one of the best donut places ever! There are so many to choose from, so try them all! But for real the donuts are soft, the icing is creamy - not too sweet - and like the best thing you'll ever eat. Go try them, now! And everyone in there is incredibly nice :)
google avatar

Laura P.

Yelp
You'll find a plethora of daily fresh made donuts and pastries at Baker's Pride in the Midtown area of Savannah! This locally owned bakery, since 1982, has quite a following and today there was a steady stream of customers! My custard filled donut was pillowy soft and delicious! I do so wish there had been a bit more custard than the small dabby do, however, it was Yummy! They have a cooler of sodas, juices and teas, and a coffee bar with a choice of five different varieties to choose from. Additionally, they make wedding cakes and have premade cakes and pies ready for your celebration. Preorder if you have something special in mind.

Stephanie H.

Yelp
Really incredible donuts! Stopped in while we were in town, and this will forever be a regular stop for us now when we're visiting. We only had donuts and danish, and they were so fresh and delicious. Next time we'll try more items. Can't recommend the donuts enough though!
google avatar

E B.

Yelp
This is an old time type bakery. Know what you are getting into before you go in. I thought the glazed donut was pretty good, but definitely not the best I've had. the apple fritter was also good and flavorful. I would definitely return here. Probably wouldn't try a lot of their other stuff though.

Alex J.

Yelp
This bakery is a A+ for me, Amazing Donuts, fast, very nice workers, service depends on how much you are wanting, you should be helped very quickly. Very nice experience, fun art and cozy little shop. Thank you for the experience. Twas a stoners mid-morning delight.
google avatar

Yelp
Baker's Pride's name is pretty accurate! It was so hard to choose between all of the delicious-looking pastries! Here's what we got, in order of preference: - Cinnamon Sugar Twist: It was a close call between #1 and #2, but this classic was just so good! - Apple Fritter: Deeelicious. We got the small, but it was still so big! - Cake Donut: Not the best cake donut I've had, but it was still decent. - Chocolate Chewy: The lady who took our order recommended this to us. We should've passed. It's like a macaron that tastes like a brownie, but not a gooey brownie. We wouldn't get it again. It was so cheap too! For all of the above, plus a coffee, it came out to $5 and change! Amazing! The staff at Baker's Pride were so sweet, friendly, and patient. They made us feel like family! We highly recommend for donuts and would love to go back and try more of their offerings!
google avatar

Mark M.

Yelp
Now this is a donut shop! Super friendly staff, answering all my questions on the history of the place and what the donuts had in them. They have been doing this for over 30 years, and have a wide assortment of donuts, muffins, cookies, and more. We ordered three different kinds of fritters, the apple, banana, and peach. Unfortunately, all of them didn't have enough fruit pieces in them, and were far too oily. The glazed twist donut was also too oily. The cream filled donut was my favorite, it was prepared perfectly, and had lots of tasty chocolate on top and white delicious cream inside. The donut holes were good, but a little oily too. 5 donuts and fritters, and a dozen donut holes, cost us just over $13. Glad to have found a classic bakery that bakes so many different kinds of items from scratch!
google avatar

Bryan M.

Yelp
I thought I had review this place before, but if not, here it is. The blueberry fritter is absolutely outstanding. When I ordered mine yesterday, it was still warm. Plain donut with chocolate glaze on was also exceptional. Staff is always friendly, and there is usually a line in there with tells you how good it is. Highly recommend.
google avatar

Yelp
So we had an unusual occurrence at this establishment. We showed up and walking up to the door, the woman who worked there came up to the door and turned us away claiming that the power is out and the register isn't working. We sat in the car and watched her let someone else into the shop minutes later who walked right up to the counter. I'm very concerned that either we were lied to, or that the shop continued to be giving out orders without working refrigerators which were full of baked items. Either way, there was something very off about our visit, and it was not a happy birthday at this bakery. Not something to be proud of at all. For ambiance, this is a full glass window entrance which lets you see everything inside, and it's a pretty basic looking strip mall of small businesses, nothing beyond ordinary. As far as the food, we can't comment as we were turned away.

Jeana R.

Yelp
Was sold the wrong cake I ordered and paid for a head of time $45. Was told by Trisha, the owner their policy is not to 'refund' orders but could give me a gift certificate. Even after she admitted that her employee made the mistake.

Elaine B.

Yelp
The staff was courteous and the food is delicious. My father loves lemon meringue pie and the baker said they will accept an order. I'm so excited to be able to get this dessert for him. Thank you Baker's Pride!
google avatar

Josh B.

Yelp
Fantastic! Delicious! Friendly! The ambiance was small town homemade bakery. Was very busy, and everyone seemed to be a regular.
google avatar

Polina W.

Yelp
I'm not a huge fan, but my husband is. He always wants to come back here. He loves cupcakes. I don't find any of their baked goods particularly impressive. I think my tastebuds definitely have a different standard than all the patrons who love Baker's Pride.
google avatar

Mary S.

Yelp
Had a big sign saying closed on Christmas Day and the 26th. Drove 30 mins to find it closed on the 24th.
google avatar

Lucy T.

Yelp
Everything is so yummy here! I was looking for a place that had maple bars and found this place. Their cheese danishes are huge and SO freakin good.

Kayla H.

Yelp
this restaurant is not accessible to individuals without a car, they are not on any food delivery apps and they do not allow you to call in orders for same day pickup even if you pay over the phone. as one of the few donut spots in the city i feel this is a major problem and inconvenience for many of us.
google avatar

Preeti M.

Yelp
"Where everybody knows your name!" ... that's pretty much what my experience here reminded me of! Friendly and warm people - they make you feel like family . As you enter, you will be greeted with a variety of freshly baked goodies. I highly recommend the donut holes - they're just the right amount of crisp and light - also you can taste the freshness! We always pick up goodies from Bakers pride when we're in that part of town!

Diane R.

Yelp
I live 600 miles away and every time I visit or pass through Savannah I always stop here. The best fritters I've ever had. If I arrive back home without a box to share with friends and family they would disown me. Peach fritters, apple fritters, banana and blueberry - each one as good as the next. So grateful that a local told me about this unassuming little hole in the wall - it's worth a stop!
google avatar

Bess B.

Yelp
Best in Savannah for all baked goods! I wanted to especially share this Mardi Gras King cake that was amazing. So impressed!
google avatar

Marissa A.

Yelp
Literally soooo amazing. I ordered donuts for my tiny wedding and had my dad pick them up before the wedding. I was worried about how they would stay fresh but the shop informed me they keep them wrapped in special paper that keeps them fresh. They not only were fresh several hours later after our dinner, they were absolutely delicious. I will definitely be back and recommend for any dinner party because they will not be stale after your dinner!!
google avatar

john j.

Yelp
Dana and her magical team of bakers set the family up with a full assortment of holiday treats. We tried the chewy chocolate cookie and 4 other glorious options. A great team providing amazing desserts. We will make this a regular stop when we are in town.
google avatar

Suzanne W.

Yelp
Cute little bakery with several items to choose from. Donuts, cupcakes and cookies just to name a few. I had the donut holes and they were delicious

Scott S.

Yelp
best doughnuts I've ever had, amazing staff, first class. The chocolate Glazed are absolutely amazing, you always feel welcomed and staff is well trained and efficient
google avatar

Alexis S.

Yelp
"OMG" is all I can say! My co-worker brought in Baker's Pride (Original Glazed Donuts) to share with the team. I bit into one and instantly fell in love! It was so warm, fluffy, and perfectly sweet. As much as I love a "Hot & Ready" Krispy Kreme donut like the next person; unfortunately, Krispy Kreme and definitely not Dunkin can compete with Baker's Pride.
google avatar

Anita Y.

Yelp
Purchased a birthday cake (coconut cream pie) to celebrate a family member. The service was helpful and friendly. I visited on a Saturday morning and there was a queue but it moved quickly. Seeing the local flavors and baked goods you can understand why it is a Savannah favorite. Will definitely visit again!
