Bakki Apartments & Hostel (Eyrarbakki Hostel)

I had a great stay at Bakki Hostel, including a very interesting and friendly conversation with the owner. The hostel is located perfect for a lot of activities around, as well as coming and going through the airport or Reykjavik. It has all the amenities you can ask for (and more) as a traveler…! Highly recommended.

Just perfect spot to end our Golden circle drive and start our journey on to southern coast. We had 3 adults, got the 1 bed apartmeny and it felt spacious with the pull out couch, large bathroom and best view from the lot to the ocean over the sea wall. We were late arrival and host waited longer than he needed to make sure we got in ok. 100% would recommend.

We booked the deluxe two-bedroom apartment for our group of 5. There was plenty of space and the sofa beds were very spacious. The apartment came with everything you’d need, well-fitted kitchen, dining table, WiFi, towels etc. ||There is private parking just in front of the apartments entrance, and a petrol station just next door. It’s right by the sea, and on particularly stormy days the spray from the waves would spray over the top of the footpath, which was quite fun. It takes approximately 15 minutes to drive into Selfoss where there are multiple grocery stores to choose from, as well as a range of places to eat (including the food hall). ||One of our favourite aspects of this accommodation was how rural it was, although based in a small town and with a brightly lit forecourt next door, there wasn’t too much light pollution in general and we had the joy of seeing the aurora clearly, every night; we were ecstatic.||We hired a car and it took us around 50 mins to drive into Reykjavik, and just short of two hours to drive to Vik, visiting waterfalls on the way.||The staff were friendly whenever we needed to interact and quickly got us a new plate when one broke. One of the staff members helped us to understand the aurora forecast, and where gave us suggestions away from the apartment of where to view them. Though we got our best sightings just along the sea wall!

Great spot right on the beach! We stayed in an apartment and felt it had all the necessities. We slept very well, almost overslept checkout. Bed was comfortable, place was clean, and quiet. The water pressure was great as well as the duel headed shower. Our host was very helpful and kind during checkin.

Fantastic place!!! So cosy, great bathrooms, comfortable and well equiped kitchen. No problem to park a car. And the town is very peaceful and charming. Realy recommend 👏🙂

Really great apartment. We had everything that we needed: - reasonable price - great location directly at the see - clean and tidy, comfortable beds - warm and quiet - water kettle and coffee machine (pads) - hair dryer and cosmetics - you can pay in cash (€) - staff is very friendly and helpful We saw polar lights here twice 😲 (end of October)

I loved Bakki Hotel. It was clean, spacious, and complete with oven, microwave, dishwasher, stove, ref, and kitxhenware. The water had a hint of sulfuric smell but it didn't bother us at all. We just used bottled water for brushing and drinking. The place was very spacious since we stayed in the one bedroom apartment. I will definitely be back for sure!

I booked a bed in a dorm for one night and everything was fine. The rooms, bathrooms and kitchen were really clean and it was quiet after 10 pm. The hostel was quiet but, as the kitchen is quite small & there aren't a lot of showers, I could see how it could easily get crowded when the hostel is full.
