Balabanov's House

We visited this house in a cheerful mood with my friends, and when one of us simply asked if we could take photos inside, the lady in charge abruptly replied, “Not without a ticket,” and shut the door in our faces. We were already planning to buy tickets to enter; we only wanted to ask whether photography was allowed inside. Such rude behavior is truly disappointing and does not suit a cultural center like Plovdiv at all. I strongly condemn this attitude.

Amazing place, home to many art evens. The house itself is a world heritage, protected by UNESCO. Pay special attention to the wood carved ceilings.

The house is not the original one from the beginning of the 19th century, since that was demolished, but a faithful reconstruction from 1935 based in every detail on the original plans. This probably explains the great shape the house is in. Typical for the Revival Period in Bulgaria, my personal favourite were the wooden ceilings, fine Ottoman style. The only thing I didn't like is that the house is now used to host temporary art galleries in an attempt to mix the old with the new with mixed results in my opinion

This house is one of the cites from combined city tour. Nice big house, first and second floors are full of a furniture of 19th century. The basement contains exhibition of modern art. Toilet at the second floor is in excellent condition. You can pass to Hindliyan house through the courtyard (another one from the city tour).

If you come to Plovdiv, you should visit this house. Awesome architecture in the style of "The old town district". It's museum too.

Great structure in Plovdiv and if you like antique houses, this is the one for you.

It was very well kept and worth the visit.
