We stayed here for a few nights and the staff was overall very kind (like when they let us stay in the room for one hour past check out time as our van was only at 1pm), however I can hardly recommend this place. The location is good as it is a couple of minutes away from the center of El Nido and the rooms are alright, however the service is overpriced as can be. The room and bathroom were small, and there is always a horrific smell coming from the shower water for the first couple of minutes when it is turned on. Decent stay but way too expensive for what it is

Walking distance to everything, location is fantastic. There is a small fridge and the shower is separate from the toilet. AC works well and there's wifi. There isn't really a window, it looks out to the courtyard so everyone can see in if you open the curtain. There is no TV The kettle is a shared water dispenser in the common area and there are quite a few mosquitoes. The bed is double so quite small for 2. This was our most expensive stay at over $40 a night in the Philippines but very underwhelming apart from being in El Nido

BALAY PARAGUA HAS PERMANENTLY CLOSED. The hotel currently operating at this location is NOT Balay Paragua. Bait and switch operation. The owner is based elsewhere and continues to entertain listings on websites such as booking.com. He intentionally misrepresents the rooms to take your money. This happens to multiple people daily. AVOID AT ALL COSTS. Photo and video included is the “double with Mountain View” option. It’s very possible you walk into this building and get a good deal on a basic room here, just understand that this is not Balay Paragua as you see it on all website listings, so none of those reviews and descriptions are relevant.

I'd say this is one of the better valued places to stay in El Nido. The rooms were very clean, the water is as you would expect from any place in El Nido, the air conditioning works wonderfully and in a quiet neighbourhood. If you're after good bang for your buck, you can't go wrong here.

The owners here are so kind and helpful! We checked in later than planned, and had a lot of questions, and they answered them all. The AC worked great! My husband and I thought the room was fine for two people, a little tight but we only used it to sleep. Breakfast was cheaper here than at any other restaurant and there’s several tables. The only issue we had was the loud sounds and music from town. Unfortunately it lasted the whole night so my husband couldn’t sleep. So bring a pair of earplugs!! Otherwise the location was great to walk to the beach and cafes nearby.

The hotel is in a very good location. It’s clean, it has wifi and air-condition. The staff is incredibly nice and always ready to help. I think the price is good for El Nido. I extended my stay because I liked the hotel.

The staff are amazing, so friendly and eager to make your stay a pleasurable one. I was here for new year's and they even made the guests a free home cooked meal for the celebration. The room was clean and they kept it clean each day. The served my a breakfast that was simple but hit the spot and started my day out perfectly. The room was a nice size, don't expect a Comfort Suites room. A bed and two side tables. The ac worked great and there's a fan on the wall that blows on the bed. The bathroom is typical of traveling in the region. Everything all together. Not a lot of water pressure and don't drink the water when in shower. It gets the job done, removing the sand from my body. All in all enjoyed my stay.

My boyfriend and I were staying at another accommodation and decided to move somewhere closer to town. For our budget, the little hotel was absolutely worth the price. ||||The room is small with only a side table and some hooks for hanging, so there wasn’t a lot of space to put our things, but we were able to manage since we packed light. Although the bathroom is small and the shower is positioned very closer to the toilet, we really appreciated the hot water shower and the pressure of the showerhead was perfect. There was one cockroach in the room one morning. ||||The staff are extremely friendly. My boyfriend and I got minor cuts and scratches from the coral, for example, and they didn’t have a first aid kit. Within 10 minutes the staff knocked on our door- they had gone out to buy us a little kit with bandaids, alcohol, iodine, and cotton. The staff aren’t always at the help desk, but when they were we found them to be very nice and accommodating. ||||For the price, Balay Panagua was absolutely amazing, just be mindful that the shower is a bit small, you will hear quite a bit of street noise, and you may find a cockroach or two.
