Baldwin Gallery

The Baldwin Gallery is a surprising large gallery with an upstairs and and downstairs. They tend to show the larger works most likely destined for a suitably sized home. Some of the art appealed to me and other works not so much. It is a fun browse and the gallery lets you walk around unfettered. The pricing is consistent with the pricing of the homes so this is not a place to obtain your trinket from your Aspen visit. However, if you are looking for upscale real art, this is one venue.

Walked in after visiting Kemo Sabe to look at art - door was open. After browsing a few pieces a woman came and asked if I had a ticket.. When I said no she asked I leave immediately, pretty rudely, with no offer to purchase a ticket. Not exactly how I would approach potential clients.

Extremely unprofessional and disrespectful. Unacceptable from a gallery that with such incredible standing and artwork. Please do not expect a warm welcome here. As a local who also works at a well respected establishment in town, I was extremely disappointed to experience such shocking treatment for merely using the public sidewalk to answer a simple phone call in an extremely quiet and personal manner nearby the store. I've never been spoken to in a such a way. We need to do better to support one another--I will never endorse a business with such blatant and clearly, somehow acceptable, treatment towards kind and well-meaning folks on their end. Not okay under any circumstances, and certainly no way to handle an honest misunderstanding which could have been easily resolved with a simple and polite request.

The Baldwin Gallery is a wonderful two-level space with original contemporary art. Check the website for the current exhibition, as well as occasional opening receptions with artists. An aesthetic gem in the middle of Aspen village.

This is the premier gallery in Aspen and is on par with the most esteemed galleries and museums in major cities such as New York, Los Angeles and San Francisco and is also very well respected on the international plane.
