The place is so clean and beautiful. The hosts are very caring and sensitive to their customers’ needs. They will personally prepare breakfast for you. The place is so safe and secure. Security cameras are situated in common areas. Makes one feel safe and enjoy his/her stay. Prices are reasonable. They will also give you instructions on where to park.

I almost hate to rate this so high because everyone will come and I won't be able to book a room when I'm in town. Loved the place; Tess and Roger attract wonderful guests because they are two wonderful people. The layout is very clever because we all ate breakfast at the large breakfast table and thus all got to know one another. I can't say enough great things about this B&B; not pretentious at all. If you haven't a clue what you want to do in Toronto, they will help fill your days with all kinds of fun things.

Great Bed and Breakfast at the core of Downtown Toronto. Prices are great compared to expensive hotels along University Ave! IF you need to be walking distance from hospitals like Mt. Sinai Hospital, Toronto Gen, Sick Kids, or schools such as U of Toronto, Fields Institute, or Victoria University, or the Art Gallery of Ontario, and looking for an affordable clean and spacious place, then this is the stay! Staff are great too! They make you feel at home away from home. Location is great because of the quaint restaurants in Baldwin Village. Chinatown with tons of chinese restaurants are a couple of blocks away.

Comfortable, clean, friendly co-habitants, safe, and centrally located. All issues with the facility were resolved in a matter of minutes, the manager showing up to fix. The landlords are great hosts with helpful friendly advice. I will always make this my place to stay in Toronto.

I have stayed at the Baldwin Inn many times. It is conveniently located to downtown Toronto. The rooms are clean and the place is quiet and is reasonably priced. Tess and Roger are great hosts who make you feel welcome. Roger makes a great cheese omelette to get your morning going on the right foot!! Highly recommended.

I stayed there many times. Tess and Roger were exceptional hosts and it felt like a second home at times. Not sure if they are still there or retired. They made a stay in the bustling downtown friendly and memorable.

Best discovery I made on my last trip to Toronto. Very good rates considering their location downtown and what's included (breakfast, wifi, et al.), and the owners are wonderful people to chat with at the breakfast table along with the other guests. Since I was travelling alone, staying here was a great opportunity to meet and mingle with many locals and get a "ground level" view of the city. A hidden gem, for sure.

I came twice in Toronto and both times I went to Roger's places. His hotels are great, cleaned and welcoming, and Roger is a very very nice person, and patient too (I changed a few times the dates of my coming, and he was always so comprehensive). I recommand Baldwin village inn and Sullivan by the Grange ! Diane

Yelp
I stayed on a Friday night because I had an early thing the next day. The booking system is kind of weird as you have to email them on their website and then they get back to you. They're quick to respond but I would've preferred an online system to book. The rooms are also at different prices. The upstairs are a bit more ($120) than the downstairs rooms ($105). I requested a quieter room so was booked upstairs, but I didn't find out until I got there. Its an extra $15 if you have an extra guest. For the location, I think this is actually cheaper than a lot of airbnbs and you also get breakfast. There's lots of restaurants on the same street and you're also not far (5 minute walk) from Dundas and Spadina where the Chinatown restaurants are. I met Issa at the house to check in and she was really nice. She showed me the house and the room with the codes for the door. The house is really clean and warm. They have a shared kitchen space with a stove and microwave which was nice if you want some snacks late at night. Upstairs, there's a cute little library and tv. For a Friday night, I expected the house to be loud but it was pleasantly quiet. I left too early for the breakfast but wish I had a chance to try -- the menu looked yummy!

Yelp
The tiny, unassuming front of the house belies the warm, homey interior you encounter once inside Baldwin Village Inn. The entire home is very clean, spacious and well maintained. The building itself is very secure and you get your own passcode to enter. Parking is at a nearby lot, which by Toronto standards is an affordable $20 for a day, and is enclosed so your car is safe from the elements and most harm. The rooms themselves are comfortable, with a queen size bed, fresh linens and towels, a desk, your own tv, and we even had a couch. The shared bathrooms are nice and clean, although given how popular and large the B&B is with visiting professionals and professors it means that first thing in the morning there is a little bit of jockeying for the shower. But since everyone is friendly they do their shower shift quickly so that the next person can hop in. They also offer a huge selection of movies if you wanted to stay in and watch something in the common area, which is relaxed and comfy. Tess and her husband are fantastic - very friendly hosts, and they have a lot of interesting people stay there at the B&B, including business men, doctors, researchers/professors, and even students for the universities, and of course travelers like ourselves. The breakfast conversations are therefore lively and interesting. The breakfast itself is great, they have bagels and breads with different spreads and cheeses, fresh fruit, cereals, fresh coffee and juices (they had almond milk!!), and they will make you any egg dish that you want. The location is fantastic, right in the heart of the city near Chinatown and a bunch of museums and universities, and the street itself is filled with Japanese and a few other Asian restaurants, cafes, and vegetarian friendly places. It's a shame that we couldn't stay longer - but that just means that we'll have to come back to Toronto soon!

Yelp
Six stars if I could. Wonderful spot, charming restaurant and tree lined street in the heart of Toronto. Very comfortable place, spotless, great vibe. Several patio tables that are great for sipping wine, people watching and or just reading the news paper on a summer afternoon. The hosts are a warm and extremely hospitable retired couple who are enjoying life and the company that passes through their home. You'll want to call this home too.

Yelp
I booked my parents at the Baldwin Inn during their visit over the summer. They loved the hospitality they received at the inn; the owners were very welcoming & knowledgeable about things to do while in town. Great location near Chinatown & on the quaint Baldwin St restaurant strip!
