This is the legit best rojak I've tasted, going all the way back to my teenage years. This is not hyperbolic speaking, this is legit!
I've waited for months to try his Rojak, because every time I want to eat it, there is a long queue, I mean 8-12 people minimal, queuing up. And he take his time to make the Rojak good, so it will take 3 mins per person at least. So, if you have 10 people... half an hour is minimal!!! You have to go before 10am to avoid queue. It's crazy!!!
AFter I ate it, now I know why people would queue up to 45mins for a plate of his goodness.
Here are the goodness:
1) The lime juice and smell jumps out before you eat it
2) The prawn paste with peanut is like peanut butter, it is thick juicy and pungent!
3) The ingredients are unique you have guava, apple, lotus flower, lime slices, lettuce, plus all the usual stuff, pineapple, taupok, yew tiao etc etc
4) All of it is blended together exquisitely, and to add--the portion is small, which is just right for most people. Too big a plate you get "saturated" eventually
So, this IS the HOOVER Balestier Rojak, it should earn them a Michelin Star. And the Chef is friendly and hardworking.
