"Bali Silent Retreat is exactly what it sounds like: no talking, no listening to music, just silence and the noises of nature. Nestled in the foothills of the sacred Mount Batukaru volcano and surrounded by rice fields and jungle, this retreat, an unforgettable experience, is in a world all its own. This is an especially great choice if you want to completely get away from it all—no phones or internet allowed." - Anna Chittenden

Everything was absolutely perfect from the beginning to the end. Being in this beautiful nature for a few days made me feel so alive. The food was incredible. The activities are just what I needed and the staff make you feel like home. It was the first time for me to stay silent for so long and I really liked it. I taught that it would be hard but actually the hardest part was to go back to the reel world and talk again. I will certainly come back and stay longer. Thank you for everything ♥️

Such a hidden gem of Bali! Food was INSANELY good, you could feel the energy. All the activities were so thoughtful. Really enjoyed sharing silence with others. Connecting with humans without words, and with deeper layers of yourself. If you need to disconnect with the outside world to reconnect with the inside world, this is the place! I stayed in the most basic room and really enjoyed it. Very clean.

We had a lovely time! We stayed for three nights (1/2 day for the arrival day then two full days) and were considering extending when it came time to check out, as we easily could have stayed another 2 nights. I had experience with extended silent meditation retreats in the past (BSR is much easier since reading/writing is permitted), but my partner didn't have any experience with any extended silence at all. We both liked the experience equally.||The room|We (couple) stayed in the "delux wooden bungalow for 2 persons), which was plenty of room. The queen bed is on the top floor and is surrounded by a mosquito net that is very easy to use. Nighttime temperatures were plenty conducive to sleeping--some nights we didn't even use the fan. Downstairs had an outdoor shower (plenty private), a lounge area with a couch, and a bathroom. We didn't end up spending much time in the room outside of sleeping, but we could have.||The grounds/facilities|It is a very scenic and serene setting. I enjoyed using all of the amenities on the grounds that were available: the labyrinth, the water meditation, the jungle/river walk, the fire night, the movement/meditation classes 2x/per day, the daily trip (optional) to the hot springs. The lodge was the center of it all, with comfortable couches and beanbag chairs up on the second floor. We ended up spending a lot of time there to do our reading and writing, especially since being up on the second floor was a good escape from the mosquitos (we were there in wet season).||Logistics|Administration/reception was clear about the communication in advance, and the orientation once we got there was exactly what it needed to be. We used their recommended travel contact to get a ride up from the airport beforehand and then back down to the pier for a speedboat to Lombok afterwards, all which went off without a hitch.

Absolutely stunning! Great combination of self guided, and teacher led meditation styles. Beautiful and delicious farm to table food and the perfect place to unplug. It is everything I was looking for, and I can't wait until I can come back and stay longer

I spent three days at this lovely place and it was an amazing and peaceful experience. The staff is warm and welcoming, the food was delicious, and the grounds were immaculate and serene. My schedule changed due to me getting sick and they were able to accommodate me with no problem. This was an amazing experience and I hope to return one day :)

For new and experienced silent retreaters. The space enables you to lead your own process and answer your own questions, with the option of gentle guidance and moments of spaces of reflection and meditation. The gardens are phenomenal and the food is amazing. Awaking each day with the forrest outside breathed new air into my lungs. thank you

This is my third trip to this paradise and I would come back every year if I could. It’s so welcoming and even though you are alone in silence, you never feel lonely. There are mountains, rice paddies and a real jungle to look at, and the lush green grounds are filled with countless flowers and butterflies. Photos don’t do it justice. The daily yoga and meditation is suitable for beginners and advanced yogis; you “do as you can”. The food is the best I have eaten anywhere. It’s grown on site and meals are based on what is available that day. Alive food tastes like life. The hardest thing is being so full that you have to stop! And the big communal space for reading or writing or sleeping feels like home; people relax and sleep or just lie around and read. You do have to be confident walking up steep stairs and along slippery paths; access is limited. And if you get hot at night, I highly recommend getting one of the bigger rooms. And don’t miss a trip to the local springs (no tourists!) and I had the best massage I have ever has in Bali there. The quiet can be confronting, but the amazing staff are always there. I had a bad day and an office angel said to me “ we will look after you” and they did.
