Highly recommend! We held a 2 day business gathering for 24 people at Ballast, and the event space was perfect for our function. The building is beautiful, and has lots of architectural character. Michelle, the owner, was very attentive and made sure we had everything we needed. The location is ideal, easily walkable from any downtown hotel and near lots of amazing shops and restaurants. We used Experience Maine Culinary for catering and the food was marvelous, and they were very accommodating of various dietary restrictions. Portland is a delightful city, and Ballast is a shining example of her charm and beauty.

We recently hosted our wedding reception at Ballast, and it was everything we were looking for. Nick was extremely responsive and helpful from the very beginning, from recommending various vendors to work with to being extremely flexible and accommodating with any last minute details. The space was very charming and perfect for our intimate 40-person cocktail reception, but it's definitely adaptable to a variety of other events. Highly recommend hosting your event in this space and working with this company!
