This place is fabulous. We were looking for somewhere authentic to go, and came across this place. Wasn’t really sure what to expect from meatballs and sauce but it was delicious. Really flavoursome, wonderfully presented and well priced. Would I visit again? Absolutely!

Try these Belgian Meatballs! Because grandma really knows how to make them! This restaurant makes pork, chicken and vegan balls. The bacon cheeseburger was also delicious btw. The restaurant claims they are based on recipes from grandma, although I suspect that the vegan ball wasn't from grandma.
The balls are very tasty, soaking in the sauce that they sit in, and they literally melt in your mouth. You can choose various sauces, but I prefer the Belgian cheese one.
I chose the typical Belgian fries, which were very tasty. No salt or pepper is added, but you can find them on the table. You get a fair amount of sauce with your fries, with a broad selection of sauces to choose from.
The only negative things that I noticed was that the toilets weren't wheelchair accessible as they are located downstairs. Also, it rained and snowed the day we visited, and we noticed the temperature of the restaurant was a bit on the chilly side.
I highly recommend going here for a Belgian food experience. The food is great, the ambiance is modern and the prices are affordable.

We happened upon this wonderful neighborhood eatery late on a Sunday night and were lucky to have done so. It’s a fast casual place where you order at the counter and the food is brought to your table. The meatballs, we had traditional with tomato sauce and one with a creamy mushroom sauce, were delicious and the sides we had - a salad, fries and croquettes - just as wonderful. Coupled with friendly and helpful counter service, made Ballekes a terrific outing.

Good tasting meatballs with a range of different sauces and sides to go with. Also a nice selection of soft drinks (the pear juice was great!).
There is a lunch meal deal for 10euros which is really reasonable and will definitely fill you up. Place is quite nice and staff are fine.

The food is fresh and incredibly good, fries are light and crunchy, they got belgian specialties and a lot of options to choose from, not to mention a great variety of what I think are locally-made beverages. The staff is very nice and kind, and they politely answered every question I had about the menu. The overall atmosphere is relaxing and familiar.
The price is astonishingly convenient for what you get, incredibly cheap.
Would absolutely recommend.

Amazing meatballs! Great portion and fresh homemade sauces. Paid €5.95 for a big meatball in sauce - good value for money. Highly recommend for somewhere to eat for a quick snack or lunch.

Good tradional meatballs, but slightly overpriced for what it is. The person serving us explained the sauces and recommendations which helped us pick great meal combinations. It's one of those cultural things you try on Belgium. But isn't cheap for the fact it's one large meatball. They have chicken gluten free meatball option which was helpful.

I was on a walking tour when I spotted this place. I saw some ladies outside dining and the was starving. What they were eating looked delicious. So, I quit the walking tour and decided to nosh on some Belgian dishes. They offer meatballs in a variety of sauces. I wish they offered a flight of miniature meatballs in the various flavors so I could try them all. But I opted on the mushrooms and gravy meatball. My friend ordered a different flavor. My meatball was delicious and my beer was really refreshing. The brussel sprouts were overcooked My friend's meatball was undercooked. She took it back and we believe they put it in the microwave. When she got it back it was really dry....sigh. However, we did enjoy the vibe of the restaurant.
