Ballinderry - The Robertson Guest House

Thank you to the hosts (and Paris) who made our stay memorable. The whole house, including the tranquility of the pool and garden, is in pristine condition. In the mornings the smell of the fresh home-made buns filled our nostrils, luring us to the dining area. We were pleasantry surprised with the variety of foods on the breakfast menu. This stay certainly did not feel like a 'bed and breakfast' - it felt like home!

We were travelling from Cape Town eastwards and were lucky enough to stay our first night on the road at Ballinderry. A warm welcome on arrival from Hilde and Luc was followed by a relaxing afternoon by the pool in the lovely garden. In the evening we had booked to eat at the guesthouse and our meal cooked by Hilde was super, accompanied by very nice local Rovertson wines.. Our room was spacious, clean and tastefully furnished, the shower was great and the breakfast tasty, We headed out the next morning very happy!

Ballinderry is owned and run by Luc and Hilde Uyttenhove, although Branded as a ‘Guest House’ you wouldn’t get better service in a top hotel. Luc and Hilde are excellent hosts with an extensive knowledge of the Robertson Valley and the things to do there. ||Ballinderry is a lovely well run guest house in a residential suburb of Robertson, it's a quiet location and has secure parking in the grounds.|The building is a converted and extended residential property but the rooms and facilities are all spacious and set out for a guest house environment.||There is a nice sized pool, extensive gardens with loungers in various locations if you want a bit of seclusion.|There is a large breakfast/dining area adjacent to the pool with French doors opening onto the Patio.||Breakfast is Cold Buffet with everything on it complimented by a ‘prepared to order hot option’|Luc also offers a glass of Cap Classic fizz every morning. (Now a ZAR60 supplement)||Hilde cooks and also offers dinner if pre booked.|Hilde’s cooking and Menu’s are superb. ||This was our second visit to Ballinderry, if we were in Robertson again we wouldn’t stay anywhere else, lovely people and VERY nice place to stay.

Ballinderry sits among the many tree lined avenues which make up the small town of Robertson. The welcome provided by Luc and Hilde is warm and genuine Their careful attention to detai is evident in the high standard of accomodation they provide. There is a well maintained garden festooned with shrubs and trees providing a sense of peace and privacy. Also a good pool. The cooking of Hilde is out of this world : forget the top London restaurants- come here you will not be disappointed.

We booked at the last minute as our travel plans had changed and were so lucky to secure a room for the night. Luc and Hilda were excellent hosts - attentive, sociable and obviously know the hospitality industry well. So professional, yet with an interested, personal approach. Beautiful house with lovely garden and excellent facilities. Will certainly stay again should we be in the area.

Beautiful well decorated room, a healthy breakfast. We took advantage of a delicious Dinner, too. We enjoyed our stay and will come back. Thank you to our very friendly and helpful hosts.

Having secured accommodation elsewhere, we arrived to find the rooms more akin to a stable. This led to a search for something else. Ballinderry could accommodate us for one of the nights. It was perfect and fully deserving of its 5 stars. Spotlessly clean, warm and friendly with delicious food. The chocolate brownies, made with Belgian chocolate, deserve a special mention, though everything was exceptional.

Our stay at this property was very confortable. Luc Uyttenhove and his wife were very good host. She try real hard at the cuisine. The property is very quiet for relaxing, is very clean and spacious.
