Beautiful beach. Recently rated excellent for water quality by SEPA (Scottish environment protection agency). Great for dogs. There are bins at each parking area. There are lots of paths through the sand dunes which are more protected from the wind and other elements.
There are a number of barbecue areas, just bring along a disposable or charcoal and maybe some clean grills.
Check tide times if you want to walk south across the stream, when the tide comes in it can turn in to a pretty big river.
Due to the tide, there can be a few sand bars. There are sometimes seals (keep dogs away) and dolphins visible in the water. There are a lot of sea birds.
Sunrise is a beautiful time, especially on a cloud free morning.
