Excellent beach with toilet facilities and free parking. Multiple paths leading to the beach including one easy (no climbing sand dunes) access flat boardwalk suitable for pedestrians, bikes, wheelchairs etc but not horses. The Sand Bothy cafe open Summer weekends. Even when there are a lot of people, never feels busy due to the vastness of the beach. Sometimes see the odd seal pop up to say hello. Popular with dog walkers at all times. Weather seems to be a couple of degrees cooler with at least a breeze. Wonderful place for a beach walk.

This beach is gorgeous! The sand is so white and soft, it's amazing. Perfect for a relaxing stroll along the shore. I could walk here for hours.

It’s a beach with vast expanse of clean, light sand and beautiful wildlife. Ideal for peaceful walks and family picnics. The beach is accessible via a 10-minute walk over the dunes, ample parking is available.

Balmedie Beach is a beautiful sandy beach that stretches for miles. This time of year (October) was very quiet , practically empty. A calm sea full of ships and fishing boats. I fell asleep on the grassy dunes, so I only have a few photos before dark.

A really nice beach which is worth a visit. I visited on a quiet Thursday afternoon, which was lovely - empty and tidy car park, no-one else around. The pathways make it easy to negotiate your way through the dunes. Very windy but some lovely views from atop the dunes.

Beautiful beach. Recently rated excellent for water quality by SEPA (Scottish environment protection agency). Great for dogs. There are bins at each parking area. There are lots of paths through the sand dunes which are more protected from the wind and other elements. There are a number of barbecue areas, just bring along a disposable or charcoal and maybe some clean grills. Check tide times if you want to walk south across the stream, when the tide comes in it can turn in to a pretty big river. Due to the tide, there can be a few sand bars. There are sometimes seals (keep dogs away) and dolphins visible in the water. There are a lot of sea birds. Sunrise is a beautiful time, especially on a cloud free morning.

Stunning, unique beach. People were sliding on the sand, as if it was snow. Various flowers can be found. Dog friendly place.

Yelp
Aberdeenshire coast is second to none..... Shame it's the bloody North Sea ...cold as heck .... However picturesque just the same

Yelp
we spent a hot summers day on balmedie beach and had a great time, the sand is soft and the beach is really clean. there is ample payand display parking, as well as toilets and a playground. there is a fair stretch of coast and even on a busy day was not crowded. the beach has a back drop of sand dunes, this are a little hard to navigate through to get one and off but there is a disable pathway available.
