The Baltic Centre for Contemporary Art is well worth a visit, especially as entry is free. The exhibition spans multiple floors, offering a wide variety of modern art, including some interactive exhibits that really encourage engagement. The building itself and the facilities feel very fitting for a contemporary art space, with a clean, open layout that suits the displays.
A tip for getting the most from your visit: start on the top floor and work your way down. If possible, take the lift to the top floor and then use the stairs to explore each lower level. There’s also a cool little treat waiting at the bottom, which is a fun way to finish your tour.
The gift shop is also worth a look, with a good selection of contemporary prints alongside some Newcastle-themed memorabilia. Overall, it’s an enjoyable and accessible cultural experience that I’d happily return to.
