"I described Baltra Island as the typical arrival point for many visitors (home to Seymour Airport) and as being separated from Santa Cruz Island by a short ferry ride across a narrow channel." - Stacey Leasca

This is where most cruises start. Celebrity Cruise line all leave and end here. You board your ship by zodiac boats. There is a small gift and sundry shop located at the port. It is a short bus ride from the airport to the port

Such an amazing place. It is crazy and breath taking to see so many beautiful things in nature. This part of the island in particular is a little bit plain. The photos are from as you enter at the airport and after you get off the bus transport from the airport to the place you ride the fairy over to the other island that has much more stuff on it to see. It is so interesting to see that amount of diversity and change between the islands as you travel.

Nice airport for accessing the Galapagos islands.

Baltra Island is a major entry point for the Galapagos Islands. It's primarily flat which makes it great for an airport. The real fun begins after a short barge ride to Santa Cruz Island and the domain of giant land tortoises.

This was my favorite of the islands. The birds onshore, and the kayaking and snorkeling offshore (inside the crater) were amazing.

Heard all the strange things about this island. Here everyone goes crazy, the clock goes backwards, it doesn't rain, the birds don't fly.

You have to pass this island in order to get to all other intersting, unique islands.
