Our stay at Bamboo Cottages was nothing short of magical. It is a peaceful, secluded haven run by a warm and welcoming family offering an authentic and laid-back experience. A big contrast with the mass-tourism resorts on other parts of the island.||Our room was right on the beach, facing the ocean, with stunning views and the soothing sound of waves as our personal soundtrack. The garden is beautifully maintained, with lush greenery and vibrant bougainvillea flowers everywhere, adding to the charm of the place.||The food was fresh, flavorful, and diverse, with an excellent selection of Vietnamese dishes. Dining right on the beach made every meal even more special.||The staff went above and beyond to make sure our stay was perfect, always attentive and ready to help with anything we need.||Before coming, we checked the reviews, and here’s our take on some of the negative points mentioned by other guests:||• Dirt Road & Accessibility – Yes, there’s about 1km of dirt road leading to the property, but it’s really not a big deal. If you’re looking for a peaceful retreat off the beaten path, this is part of the charm. We had no issues getting taxis to pick us up or drop us off.||• Insects – As expected in a beachfront location, there are some mosquitoes and insects. But our room had a mosquito net, and using repellent spray was enough to keep them away. The staff also burns repellent in the restaurant area to minimize them.||• Hot Water – We had plenty of hot water, but honestly, most of the time, we didn’t even use it because the weather was so warm. A refreshing cool shower after a beach day was perfect!||• Facilities – Some of the equipment, like bathtubs, is a bit older, but it’s understandable since Bamboo Cottages was closed for three years due to COVID. They are gradually updating things, and despite this, the rooms are clean, well-maintained, and full of charm.||• Boat Activity in the Bay – We noticed some boats dragging sand a couple of mornings during our stay. It made a bit of noise but wasn’t a major disturbance. This is beyond Bamboo Cottages’ control, and it shouldn’t be a reason to take points away from them.||We originally planned to stay just a few days, but we ended up extending our stay—because leaving this little paradise was simply too hard.||If you’re looking for a relaxing, off-the-beaten-path experience in Phu Quoc, this is the perfect place.

We absolutely LOVED everything about our stay here! The rooms were so clean and the bed was very comfortable! We enjoyed swimming in the ocean right in front of the bungalow and relaxing in the hammocks. And THE FOOD! THE FOOD! THE FOOD!!!! The food was so TASTY! And there are so many options for vegans/vegetarians! Plus it is evident that they care about where their food comes from which was a very important detail for us! Drinks and service were also fantastic! You can rent motorbikes right from the property and they are fantastic with organizing activities off property! Wish we could have stayed longer!!! Cannot say enough great things about this place! The only suggestion would be to have a milk alternative for coffee/breakfast. I will definitely be back!

This is a place with character and soul, where you can tell it’s managed with care and attention to detail. And the location is beautiful. ||The beachfront is about 200 meters long I estimate, with around three-quarters being real beach, although not very deep. It has a relaxed, inviting atmosphere with trees, hammocks, and swings, and it’s clean and well-maintained. ||The cottages themselves are thoughtfully designed and have more personality than those at some neighboring resorts. Our room was comfortable and equipped with everything we needed.||The restaurant was very good. The menu offered a wide variety of options for a resort of this size, and while a few items were occasionally unavailable, it didn’t bother us because the food was fresh and delicious. It was easy to stay for several days and enjoy different meals without feeling the need to look elsewhere. ||Staff was friendly and helpful. ||If you’re looking for a peaceful, laid-back stay, this place is a good choice. It’s great value for the price and perfect for those who appreciate a place with character.|

Cannot say enough good things about this place and the staff! To say we felt at home is a huge understatement, even from the other side of the world. Each morning they're ready to greet you with breakfast on the beach, and we're always willing to help or lend a hand. They even helped move our luggage to our room! You can tell the people who work here love the land it's on and truly care for keeping it clean, showing this resort is for 'more than profit'. I can't wait to come back!

Our stay at Bamboo Cottages was delightful. The cottages have access to a private beach of turquoise blue water. The surrounding dense, tropical vegetation and the sounds of the waves make it a nature lover’s dream. The food at the restaurant is simply amazing- excellent Vietnamese traditional and contemporary dishes. We ate our way through the diverse menu with gusto! Staff speak English and were very attentive to our needs. The rooms are fairly simple and probably could use an upgrade but we found them very comfortable and well kept. Highly recommended!

This place is paradise ! Each cottage is attached to one other and feels very private. The decoration is tasteful and the environment is peaceful. The mattress was firm. The room was spacious. The bathroom is outdoors but attached. If you need some excitement, you can visit the bee farm and pepper farm nearby. Plus there is kayaking. The on site restaurant is the best thay I found in that price range on the island. The chef has a delicate hand and makes beautiful, aesthetically pleasing dishes that are also delicious (breakfast can be pho or a variety of eggs or muesli). The herring was incredible. Hanh, who speaks English and French, is incredibly helpful with pretty much everything. She contributes to the serene atmosphere and knows her clientele— we are not the typical tourists. Even the people who helped me with my bags and the very sweet waitress were lovely. This place is incredible !

One of our absolute favourite places in a month long trip - a couple of important notes so read through this long detailed review: Pros: Customer service is amazing!!! Food and the drinks are good. Water & sand, beach are amazing! The place is not big and thus not very busy, loved the alone time. They have motorbikes for rent, and can rent a car service. The car service to and from the airport was timely, comfy, a worked great and very professional. The huts are so amazing, we loved the design and the feel, really glad we went with a beach front felt so eco luxy can't wait to go back (and we are planning to!) Fun easy ride around the north part of the island is much safer and full of adventure, starfish beach (leave early!) Good mix of sun & shade, with some padded beach loungers for reading or relaxing. Pro tip: bring a hammock!!! Wish they had some hammocks or hammock chairs. Cons: Neighbours at times. The neighbours to the west were booming music a couple times. Avoid the far east hut, we were moved for this reason. Hopefully the owners build a noise & privacy wall on this end or buy that property out. But it's someone's property and they were there alot longer before we were, so we just let the management know when it was a little to much on a weekend evening. To the east a ways down there is a pier being built, noise was minimal most times but be aware depending on the state of this construction. I actually enjoyed watching the work progress over the week we were there, they were welding at night and that looked cool yet was silent. If you don't want to be remote, this isn't the place for you. The area has limited services, there is another restaurant just down the street, when you want something a little different for dinner, it's a little busier than the hotel but still very mild. No other real services within walking distance other than a local that sells some snacks, water, etc out of their house on the path on your way to the restaurant. What a wonderful place they have built, and doing their best to really bring a great vibe and experience while being sustainable. Some things are out of the owners control but Vietnam is a busy populated country expanding quickly and this is one of the best areas we were able to relax, enjoy, while still feeling lux and cozy.

I really do not understand how anyone can give a low score here. - Extremely attentive staff (manager in particular) - daily housekeeping - clean room, stunning shower and bathroom, comfortable bed with many pillows. And a working room fridge (rare in Vietnam) - location is moderately far from the city. But who cares. The city Center is good for a trip in , you don’t want to be near that at all. - private , natural beach. Stunning water - feeling of seclusion and very peaceful - restaurant food is truly delicious. Somewhat pricy for Vietnam **. But you’re in Phu Quoc, getting catered to , and getting decent portions - get over it ! Worth it An absolutely wonderful stay , it is a very well run operation and the facilities are lovely.
