Been here again couple of times. It's always been a great experience. The won ton soup and the orange chicken is the best in town. All together between a family of 4 we had the egg rolls sezchuan beef, Mongolian beef, orange chicken, beef and broccoli, veggie chow mien and walnut shrimp. Everything we ordered was absolutely delicious. We left with our bellies all the way filled up and some to go for a midnight snack. The bamboo garden is our number one choice for chinese food in carson city.

As soon as we walked in, we were greeted by an older lady who asked how many were in our party. We told her two, and she pointed to a table, curtly saying, “Sit there!” A very “un-friendly” start to the night. Another older lady came to take our order, just as unpleasant and unfriendly as the first. We started with fried wontons, which were brought out in about thirty seconds—clearly not fresh. For our main dishes, I ordered General Chicken, and my wife ordered Chicken Chow Mein. The Chow Mein was decent, but the General Chicken was bland and tasteless. On a positive note, the two younger waitresses were much more pleasant and easier to deal with than the first two older ladies. Overall, not the best experience.

Service was EXCELLENT. Food was standard American-Chinese food, so it is what it is. It tasted good.

I love this place!! It has that nostalgic Chinese restaurant vibe and the prices match the nostalgia! The food is also super good and fresh. The staff are friendly and very accommodating to vegetarian options. I recommend getting their dinner package or the lunch special.

While visiting Carson City, NV, we wanted Chinese food! We chose the Bamboo Garden. Absolutely exceptional! (And we are super picky!) The serving staff was friendly and attentive, without being intrusive. We shared the chicken chow mein, which was fresh, loads with chicken and amazing sauce, soft noodles (not hard!) and sautéed onions, garlic and veggies. We also had chicken friend rice which was amazing, fresh, buttery and bursting with flavor. The 3rd thing g we shared was the ginger beef. Again—amazing. Wish we would have taken pictures, but we started eating quickly! We highly recommend!

I looked up prices for the 5 entrees before ordering. $53.00. I picked up the food and was charged $84.00. We received no rice or appetizers with any item. What the heck. Reviews said pricing was fair and not the case. Called them to discuss this no answer 3 times.

Great food and great service, very affordable as well. My wife and I both got lunch here, each got a water with lemon and after leaving a 18.5 percent tip our bill was only $30 which is pretty unheard of nowadays especially for a sit down restaurant with quality food and service. Definitely our favorite Chinese restaurant in Northern Nevada.

Excellent place with some excellent deals. The food is affordable for the day and well worth your money without cutting corners on the taste. Easily the best Chinese food in Carson City.

Great, fresh and flavorful food! This was our second time visiting and they did not disappoint! The place was packed for a 2:30 lunch on a Saturday, but the staff was calm, friendly, and the food came out only minutes after ordering. Hubby ordered Cahew Chicken with egg flower soup and I ordered the triple combo with veggies in a brown sauce with hot and sour soup. There was not a portion of this meal that was not exceptional, including the lunch price of $12! We will be back for sure!

Mediocre food and the woman who runs it is extremely rude, unkind and just plain mean to customers and staff. I will never eat there again. I'd give zero stars if that were an option. A terrible dining experience.

Its a nice place but the lack of spice in spicy dishes was a let down. The general chicken was sweet with no spice, the curry shrimp again no spice, and the sezchuan chicken also no spice. The pineapple chicken was very sweet though. Portions were as expected. They have a dinner plate that's called the sezchaun plate but has no sezchuan on it? I don't underatand that. The soup of the day was not listed but when asked they said it was egg drop soup. It is on the menu separately? The soup was ok but heavy on peas. Not great but very meh. They are very pricy. 4 people was over $90 without alcohol. It was vey quiet when we were there even with several parties. Not going back. Panda express is better.

I typically order dinner from here when I need a quick and easy meal. Service is fast and friendly. I am really picky about my Chinese food being first generation born Chinese, born and raised in Sacramento. There are many authentic places to go to and I would consider this as Americanized Chinese fast food dining. I ordered a family dinner for 3 and the Crispy Duck all for $99.85. The Duck was $23. Family dinners are always as expected 3/5. Duck was absolutely dry -- worse than beef jerky. Not meaty at all. I got served a starving, overly dry, blackened duck with feathers partially plucked on one piece. Crispy duck should be served shiny, golden brown plump, juicy, and flavorful. It shouldn't be too fatty and the skin should've been crispy. I took it back. Owner tried to refund me my $23.00, but I wanted to prove a point. It's not about the money I spent. It is about meeting expectations of what's being served. I advised her as an owner, she should have managed her cooks and the duck should have never left the kitchen. Her reply was that she got it that way and she told me never to order it again! I told her that is not the point! She should be managing the quality and take it off the menu and say " Sorry, No duck today." I hope she got the point and learned from my experience.

We came here because someone raved about the Orange Chicken was the best they had ever had. Well, it wasn't the best I've ever had. Not even close. It was also a little heavy on the orange food coloring. I also tried the Mongolian beef which is also one of my favorites and it failed to make the grade as well. The service was spot on however with our drinks being refilled frequently. The atmosphere inside was nice.

Being in Carson City, I try different Chinese restaurants as this is one of my favourite cuisines. I have been to this restaurant several times and each time it's decent. I try a chicken or beef dish each time I go. I always order at lunch time and get the lunch special which comes with a fried egg roll, crab Rangoon and either hot and sour/ egg flour soup. The food tastes good for the price point and have plenty of variety to chose from. The service is good when it comes to being served from the moment you enter to the dining experience. However, each time I have gone, as you're still eating, you will receive your bill before completing your dining experience. I thought it was just a one time thing, but it was happened each time o have gone and find that classless to do. A business should ask its customer of there is anything else they'd like prior to bringing the bill. Maybe they want free tables for turnover, but I find it quite ride ton get it still as you're taking bites of your food. As for parking, there is plenty as they have a large lot in front of the restaurant. The ambiance of the restaurant is casual, nice for lunch or dinner and good for individual lunch or groups. I will return to have lunch there, but I hope they read this and change their handling of receiving the bill.

I visited Lake Tahoe from the Bay Area, and as an Asian, I wanted to leave a review noting that the food was very solid and priced very well. The place was open during the Thanksgiving holidays, and served usual menu.

We were so happy to find this place! Bamboo Garden has a huge, reasonably stable selection of Chinese food. I say reasonably stable because it's not consistently executed. We're pretty consistent with our ordering habits: beef chop suey; beef chow fun; kung pao; fried rice. The first time we ordered everything was amazing! So happy! The second time a few weeks later, not bad; the third time still not bad but -- no love. Different chefs, and you can tell. There's a lady who's there most often to take our orders - who is super nice. Very familiar with the menu, extremely accommodating. The guy, not so nice. A third, gum-smackin' lady, not nice at all. We do take-out, without exception, so I can't speak to the dining experience. Overall, consistent reads on re-ordered dishes: fried rice is lackluster, plain, disappointing; kung pao is consistently delish; crab Rangoon is pretty tasteless; schezuan chicken is tasty; beef chow fun is good; hot and sour soup went down our sink twice, uneaten. Too much of some charcoal-y taste. Chop suey is a consistent fave. We do love Chinese in a hurry and we'll keep trying these guys.

I was passing through town taking advantage of cheaper fuel prices at Costco in Carson City and discovered the Bamboo Garden. I phoned to ask if they have a lunch special menu and what's included. It's soup and rice and egg roll and wonton with your entree. So I boogied right over. The prices were very reasonable. The quantity was better than most. It's a beautiful little place and I arrived during the lunch rush. I was seated right away and they were quite fast taking my order and getting my food out. There were quite a few servers available. The food was excellent. I ordered the CHICKEN With ORANGE PEEL SAUCE. It was very sweet like orange chicken but honestly, I thought the sauce was even better. It just had more of an orange flavor. So nice! The chicken was tender and it was sliced thin before being battered rather than in larger chunks. I thought it was excellent. I wish I lived closer. Highly recommend. Hope I get back again. Having moved from SE TX to NW NV, we are still on the search for Chinese food that is decent. We still have not found that. Even with the good reviews. 1st, we ordered to go. I went to pick it up, and the restaurant was really confusing inside. I was looking for a hostess stand etc. Nope, a little tiny counter in the back far corner. No signs to let you know that is where you pick up at. 2nd The food was subpar for the price. Had the hot n sour soup. It was just ok. Not much flavor compared to others in the area. Ordered a general's chicken lunch special. It is like sweet n sour chicken breaded just with general's sauce poured over it. Some of the pieces were inedible as they were so hard inside, like this was not their 1st fry. A kung pao (NO SPICE) triple delight lunch special with no beef or peanuts. That was pretty good, but absolutely NO SPICE!!! We wanted SPICE!!!!! 3rd We wanted house fried rice substituted for the regular fried rice but could only get it as a large order that was disappointing to say the least. It literally had 2 shrimp in the entire container, the chicken in it was off tasting, so most of that went into the trash. Not worth the almost 15.00 they charged for it. So, 40.00 of subpar food. Lesson learned. Definitely will not be going back!

Best Hot and Sour soup in Carson City. Quiet, comfortable ambiance and friendly service. * the menu posted on line is does not have accurate pricing

1st, the soup arrived room temperature warm, (hot & sour), my friends soup was cold (egg flower). food was good, the vegetables were crispy, but had only 3 pieces chicken. we had to share the dipping sauce with 7 people. Now, the menu posted on the web is from 1980. The prices are 7.25 for lunch, but the menu handed to me were 12.75 for lunch. Update your posted menus so we do not pay unknown prices. Service was overwhelmed with the dishes and had no clue who ordered what. Even with additional help, they did not know how to service and taking the payment.

Quoting George Bailey "Here's your hat; what's your hurry?" Wonderful people. Acceptable prices. Low key, comfortable atmosphere. Fabulous food with a very deep menu, but maybe a lack of plates and bowls in the back? Sweet older woman kept trying to take dishes off our table. We stopped her three times, she kept coming around, this time asking "Are you finished with this?" I would love even half this attention at some other places (no names). We counted 26 visits to the table to fill water or try to remove plates. We began timing her. On the average, she came around every four minutes. In her defense it was between meals (2:30pm). It's still the best in Carson City. My Cashew Chicken was superior with plenty of celery, chunks of chicken and cashews! 03/24

The best thing about this place is the portion sizes. You get your bang for your buck. The service is VERY attentive. Like almost hovering and made us somewhat uncomfortable.. but when I think of the latter I guess I would rather someone paying attention. The restaurant itself is very mellow and chill. Might return. The quality of the food tasted fresh but it wasn't over the top impressing. 3 stars for bamboo garden

Honestly, it's the best Chinese I've had in Northern Nevada. Came here with my family of 10 people. I called ahead and was told that most likely had a shot to have the one larger table in the restaurant. Not only did we get the table, but we also had some amazing service overall. From the lovely ladies who got our drinks to the server (possibly the owner???). She took our order, everything was 100% correct and even brought us extra tea. The food was amazing. The broth on the soups was delicious. The actual entrees weren't super salty and had just the correct amount of sauce. I'm very impressed and can't wait to go back.

The music and lighting of this place is so claiming. The food is excellent. I had the Kung Pao lunch special, tasted great at an awesome value. The service was fast and efficient.

First visit was in April, it was so good! Was excited to go back, NEVER again after most recent visit and that's due to the hostile owner who wanted to argue with me that the chicken they served me was good. It WASNT. It was rubbery and chewy. Not at all like the first visit. He must be cheap. I don't know, when it comes to restaurants. Consistency is key..and I want to support local businesses but PF changs is better than this place. AVOID. And change your attitude owner.

Best Orange Chicken I've had in the U.S.!!! Lunch specials are exactly that very special for the portion size and affordability!!! Never leave without taking a shrimp fried rice home for the next days lunch Highly recommend

Went to Bamboo garden with 6 friends last night. Service was good and they accomodated our group with a large round table that had a convenient lazy susan in the middle. I was very disappointed that the quality of their food had changed. I ordered the Happy Family and it tasted nothing like I had enjoyed last year. The sauce was watery and not the same taste. Rice and soup were an extra charge. The paper wrap chicken was so stuck to the foil that it was hard to eat.

Good enough food, not exceptional, nice place and service was fine. Price was where one expects in a strip mall ,made for American tastes.

We came here to try a new Chinese restaurant and broaden our choices. There was no wait when we got here and the staff was very friendly and quick to take your drink and food order. We ordered the Orange peel chicken, which was very disappointing. It was just chicken skin with orange sauce. We also ordered the Sweet and Sour pork, and the pork was very dry. We also ordered the Sweet and Sour Shrimp, which was the best part of the meal. It was flavorful. If you're looking for an appetizer, the friend wontons are pretty good, too! Price was a lot for us, especially when the food was not that good. I dont think we will return again, but the staff did a great job serving us!

Bamboo garden never disappoints. We drive down from Tahoe just for the General Tso chicken and crispy walnut shrimp. Service is always fast and friendly.

Soo 17$ for 2 Egg rolls and 4 Ragoons.. I got home assuming there was like 6 Egg rolls and Maybe more than 4 ragoons.. Good luck with that pricing scheme

It's Chinese alright. This time I had 3 ingredient. Friend had Shrimp in lobster sauce. We were ignored quite awhile. Finally got to order drinks then it took even longer to get our food order in. It's not always been this way. Too bad it was this time. There for lunch on a Friday. Maybe they were handling the over flies from El Charros across the street? That's where we had intended to go.

Had lunch at Bamboo Garden in Carson City with a friend. I had curry shrimp and my friend had walnut shrimp. Both meals were excellent. Service was excellent. The restaurant was clean and even though it had lots of diners it was not noisy.

Thr food is always consistsnt and delicious! It's clean and peaceful and quiet. Service is great. This is my go to place for caraon city!

Dinner tonight at Bamboo Garden was fabulous! The atmosphere was very nice, service was great and the food was fantastic. Hubby and I shared the Chicken with Mixed Vegetables, Egg Rolls, Szechuan Chicken and I had the Hot & Sour Soup. Everything was delicious!

Classy interior and good service. They come check on me often to make sure everything is fine. The food tastes pretty good, it is what I would expect for a good American Chinese food restaurant. The dinner combo offers good value with appetizers and soup.

Just leaving this restaurant now. Felt I should add my review before I procrastinate and then forget. Well, it was a little bit of a drive for us (from Virginia City), but being new to the area we were in search of a good restaurant. They did not disappoint: the ambiance, cleanliness, service and (most importantly) food was just perfect. I was already talking about our next dinner there. Thank you for a very enjoyable dinner

Bamboo Garden has become our go to place for Chinese food. Love the fried noodles and the wife loves the house fried rice. To go and in house service is always good. It is usually nice a quiet in the restaurant and we love to relax there after work some days.

Good service. Food is not authentic Chinese. Ambiance is very nice! Spanish speaking servers.

Me and my husband always eat their lunch special and its ok. Yesterday 1st time i ordered a ginger duck and it was terrible, we couldn't eat it, it was though and it seems like its an old duck that was fried before and they just sauté it with ginger. I hate throwing food but it was not edible. Im so disappointed!

This restaurant is amazing. My mom (95 yrs old) we come in here regularly. The food is absolutely fresh, and the service is second to none. They are here to please. My mom loves having her non-alcoholic beer with lunch, and they have it for her every time; they never carried before her request.

Recently had dinner here and ordered Kung Pao Chicken, kinda strange as there was basically NO Chicken to be found !! For a $15 plate, there was about 5 miniscule or very tiny pieces of Chicken !! Our server, probably the owner was very grouchy and I could hear loud arguing in the kitchen !! We were with another couple or I would have complained !! Would we go back ?? NO !!!!

Delicious food. Fantastic service. Good quantity. By far, the best shrimp-fried rice I've ever eaten. I had the paper-wrapped chicken, the egg rolls, the shrimp-fried rice and the sesame shrimp. I had more than enough to fill me up (it was dinner time and I had skipped lunch), and plenty to take home for later. I will definitely be going back for more! What a hidden gem!!!

Everything I have tried here is DELICIOUS!! My friend has been coming here for over 20 years. She also recommends this restaurant to everyone she meets. The service is excellent! The owner is hands on and makes sure everyone has a great experience. I would give it 10 stars if I could..

Like their food, but the prices on the online menu are way off. Expected a bill of $18ish for a to-go oder, but it was $27 and change. When I questioned it, they said they didn't post a menu & don't know how to delete it Etc. This is consumer fraud, and one day, they will have someone walk out leaving a big order or, worse yet, report them to the local DA consumer fraud unit. These little places are what the consumer fraud units look for. So they better delete the erroneous menu quickly

We go there all the time and we love the food and service. The owner Carie is sweet and thoughtful. The atmosphere is great. It's American Chinese food and I feel the best in Carson City.

Stopped in 12/23 to verify they would be open until 8 PM 12/24. Arrived 12/24 7:30PM--"only taking take-out" orders now. Forget about ever coming back to this place.

The best Chinese food in Carson City! Walnut Shrimp and Shrimp with Lobster Sauce are my favorite 2 dishes. Highly recommended! They said they didn't post the menu online, so the price is different from the yelp. I posted the newest menu for everyone to check.
