Great Chinese restaurant. I had the braised sea cucumber for my main, gotta say I wasn't a fan of that dish, but had to try. That being said, all the other food was excellent, especially the beef pot sticker dumplings, which were quite possibly the greatest thing I've ever eaten at any Chinese restaurant....ever. All in all it was a great meal with nice friendly service. 5 stars

Absolutely outstanding food! A party of five, we opted for the special banquet and what a good choice. From beautiful scallops, delicious peking duck, yummy dumplings, succulent lamb chops and fat, juicy prawns, there was more than enough food. I will definitely return.

Booked a table for a quick lunch just based off high review count glancing on Google Maps in the area. I was pleasantly surprised when I walked in the door and it was very well appointed with great staff and excellent service. I had the wontons and dumplings that were extremely reasonably priced and a nice glass of red. This place would be great for a romantic date night or business lunch. Very impressed.

Really loved our dinner at Bamboo House we spoiled ourselves and ordered a whole lobster served in chilli sauce ! It was amazing and way too much for two, lucky we only ordered the Peking duck for entree and nothing else! Servers were super attentive, it was our first time and we definitely will be back !

A place where you can get the traditional Chinese cuisine with a particular look into the details. If I have to find a defect is that the ambient was loud, so I recommend this place for a night out with your friends group

Many would have thought this is a very expensive restaurant targeting mainly the Whites. On the contrary, the Chinese food is very authentic and good. Portion size is above average. Price is acceptable for this kind of Chinese restaurant setting.

It's another long-standing Melbourne institution. Foodwise and service, consistent, somewhat value for money, classic dishes, done well ... good extensive wine list, bigger than the food menu, moderately priced. Interior hasn't changed much ... new refurbished toilet is a joy 😊

Food and service was amazing. The restaurant is large and comfortable inside. Best Chinese food in the area. The dishes tasted like they came and were cooked in China, very authentic. Portions are the perfect size for the price. I would highly recommend this restaurant when in the area. Ps call and make a reservation.

Considered one of Melbourne's best Chinese restaurants. A must-visit when visiting Melbourne, you will not be disappointed.

We ordered Peking duck and received sliced shredded duck meat in wraps of soft flat bread. They were tasty but not really a classical Peking duck. They came with no sides. Ordered 16 pieces but were served 15. Price was in excess of $100 which seemed high for the food served. Service was slow but very courteous. The ambiance is okay but average.

Fabulous Calamari (Squid) and Peking Duck pancakes. Atmosphere was also excellent. Definitely recommend this place!

How to explain Bamboo House? In many ways, it's flasher and more 'foodie' than a lot of the other Chinatown restaurants, but it's quite daggy at the same time. Does that make sense? Bamboo House specifically does northern Chinese food, so its menu is a little different than the rest of the Chinatown crowd featuring just Sichuan and Peking dishes. Their signature dish is Tea Smoked Duck and it's deserving of its fame - it is so moist and goes perfectly with the hoi sin sauce. The service here puts the rest of Chinatown to shame, with attentive, friendly staff. As such it seems a popular place for business lunches, so it's advisable to book even mid-week. A really lovely restaurant, just a pity about the decor!

Epic meal, don't use the menu have the staff just bring you out what they think is best. Yum Yum

Our favourite northern Chinese style restaurant (as opposed to the majority southern and Sichuan in Melbourne) - whenever we are in the mood for duck, this is where we head. The décor is almost reminiscent of the 40s, but altogether pleasant with 40s style service (old fashioned manners should be emulated more). The food is excellent, the service is excellent. What more need be said?

I came here for a work lunch and was chosen to select the menu. The staff helped me decide on several dishes that they portioned for us and brought to our table one at a time. It is this attention to detail that sets them apart from other places in addition to the delicious food. We enjoyed lettuce cups filled with flavourful pork, salty spiced calamari, tender sweet and sour beef with snow peas, richly sauced prawns and my favourite, peking duck and green onions in a light wrap with plum sauce. It was a satisfying meal and I would definitely recommend this place to others.

OMG IT IS FREAKING AMAZING!! It is the best Chinese Food I have ever eaten! Cant get enough of it
