We had a great stay at this small hotel in Battambang, which was an excellent value for the price. I liked the peaceful vibe of the pool and courtyard and the unique design of the rooms - for example they use tiles salvaged from old Cambodian houses, and the buildings are constructed in a hybrid colonial-traditional style. You just can't find these touches at larger properties. The bathrooms were extremely spacious! Although there's some noise from neighboring businesses, that's to be expected as the property has the perfect location in the middle of the city by the river - you can walk the area and don't need to bother with transport when going out to a restaurant. Special shout out to the manager Satha who went above and beyond providing us excellent service!

Disappointing "Premium Room" Experience We were enticed by the direct email pitch from Bambu Hotel to book the "Suite (Premium Room)" at $120 per night, ( discounted to $90 if we booked direct ) which was described as offering a modern experience with stunning views. The top tier of three options available at the hotel, however, our experience was far from premium. The "premium" room was located on the first floor, directly above the bar / restaurant. This resulted in constant noise, with the bar open till 10pm and the common area in use until 2:30 am on one night. The significant issue is that the balcony is in a direct line of cigarette smoke from bar patrons, making it unpleasant for relaxing on. It's far from a peaceful room from a noise level perspective with all bar and restaurant staff and visitor noise and conversation audible from the room if any doors or windows are open. The room itself was underwhelming and lacked any distinguishing features that would justify its higher price point. From a noise and smell perspective, this would be I suggest arguably the worst room on the property, most definitely not value for money! At $90 / $120 per night, this room is significantly overpriced for Battambang, especially given the many more tranquil and authentic options available in the area. In hindsight, we regret not conducting more thorough research. For future guests, I would strongly recommend avoiding the so-called "premium" room and considering other options on the property—or elsewhere altogether.

Recommend this hotel. We had problem with our booking that was handled with professionalism and resolved amicably. ||The room was spacious and cool. We enjoyed the amenities inc the very generous breakfast. The pool was a welcome reprieve. The owners guide notes on things to do proved to be invaluable.||Great stay!

This classy Khmer style hotel has much to recommend it, not least its well maintained pool and attentive, professional staff. The lobby has the quiet cool welcome a visitor needs in the tropics. The menu is broad and the food is excellent with a lean towards western, tho Khmer is offered too. Good coffee and a bar make Bambu a welcome location at each end of the day. Rooms are fine. The staff organise tuk tuks and drivers, and a ticket to the circus - an absolute must do event in Battambang! Make sure you have time to see the circus and arts school display and wander the grounds before the performance!

The best place to eat, drink and stay in all of Battambang! We've been coming to Battambang for about 8 years now, and we always stay here. Wide selection on food, with many vegetarian options for half my family. They also cook up specialty meals, so check board when you order. International spirits, and the bartenders are well trained to make high quality cocktails. The rustic rooms will leave you in awe. All the modern amenities you'll want, with fancy villa ambience. The pool! You will not want to leave the pool, it's beyond 5-stars. It's always kept in perfect condition with fresh towels and lots of shade. If you're visiting Battambang and want to hang out in the most beautiful place ever, this is where you want to stay.

The hotel is nice and the rooms are quite large. It was clean and offered everything needed (AC, fridge,...).|The location is good as well. There's a mini market, restaurants and a gym just next door and the city center can be reached within 5 minutes (by Tuk Tuk). Also, the staff was very lovely and helpful.|We however missed the "love for detail" a bit. The pool area and restaurant have great potential but would need a bit of renovation (dirty umbrellas, pool beds were partly broken). We felt the same during the breakfast. The selection was fine but the used productions were not fresh or nicely arranged on the plate.|Overall, definitely a place to stay for 1 or 2 nights if you don't want something "super fancy".
