The place by itself is very pretty, a lush haven, but what made it special for us was its hosts. Yves and Deng took really great care of us and made us feel like we're home away from home.||Nong Bua is a small town about 20 min drive from Kanchanaburi center. If you're a non thai speaking newcomer, it's not an easy place to get around. When we needed to get some supplies from nearby or go to the bus station to go someplace, Yves offered to drop us off which saved us a lot of time and energy. Deng being a Kanchanaburi native, pulled a lot of connections for us at fair prices, one being the kayak trip at the Kwai river which turned out to be one of the highlights of the trip for us. If you are an outdoor activity person it's worth your day. The route is 15 kms from Nong Bua to the Kwai Bridge and it lasts up to 3.5-4 hrs to complete if the current is weak. Its 500 u and they shuttle you to sabai sabai and back.||Deng if you tell her beforehand, can cook dinner at her own kitchen for 100 u apiece which is more than fair since she's a great cook. I've tasted some of the best thai dishes from her.||We stayed at the bungalow for 350 u a night which didn't have much room but came with a mosquito tent and it was comfortable enough. The bungalow also has a fan but we didn't use it since nights are cool enough this season.||Family dogs black bear, panda and mipu have kept us company the whole time, i miss them still:) And i can't thank Yves and Deng enough to making our stay worthwhile.||
