Best food I’ve had on Koh Samet at Banana Bar – every dish was bursting with flavor and perfectly cooked. Friendly service, relaxed vibe. Absolutely delicious, will definitely come back on my next visit. Highly recommended!

We ordered Green Curry and Krapow, and after staying on the island for a few days and trying out different spots, this is one of the most comforting food we had. It is served in a homey setting and the ladies working there were so warm and friendly. Food was also well priced and delicious. It felt like we had a Thai grandma cook for us! We were starving when we got there but it was definitely worth the wait! Will come back again! To clarify other people’s review on slow service— yes, it does take quite awhile for food to come out. BUT you must remember it is a small local joint ran by an old thai lady who probably cooks each dish/ serves one table at a time. This is NOT a fast food chain. Don’t expect quick service and don’t come if you’re starving and not willing to wait. It’s common sense. You’re on a small island that is full of locals who run on a slower pace than you’re used to. Don’t come to a small island expecting city-like living and expect them to live at YOUR pace. It’s genuinely so sad to see how people can’t slow down and be patient. Also, if you think it’s “dirty” (we didn’t think so, it’s just messy but so what?), then don’t place your order and go elsewhere, no one forced you to dine here.

If we could give 10 stars ⭐️ we would do it! This is the best authentic Thai food from Koh Samet! It is really worth waiting the line, please respect that the family is doing their very best to serve you fresh and delicious dishes. We loved the red curry and the choo chee prawns. Thank you Anchelee and family it was a real pleasure to meet you! Much love and take care! Daniëlla & Jeroen

Easily the nicest restaurant I have ever been to. The atmosphere is lovely, everyone there is kind, and I ate here two of the three days I stayed at Koh Samet. So good that I extended my trip just to have another meal. You cannot go wrong with whatever you order. Impossible to get a table but you can request to share one - I shared a table both days. Would go to Samet just for another meal. You should go, if for nothing, at least the meal.

Thank you so much for the amazing food and kind service! To have so many vegetarian choices is great and it’s one of the best meals we ate in Thailand!!

Tucked away on the Main Street of Koh Samet, Banana Bar is a delightful gem that punches well above its size. The moment you step in, you're greeted by a quirky, bohemian ambience that give the place an inviting, offbeat charm. It’s the kind of spot where you instantly feel like you’ve discovered a secret worth keeping. The food is the real star here. The spring rolls are crispy, fresh, and bursting with flavor—clearly made with care. The Tom Yum soup is unforgettable: perfectly balanced between spicy and sour, fragrant with lemongrass and galangal, and served piping hot with generous portions. It’s easily one of the best we've ever had. What truly elevates the experience, though, are the hosts. Warm, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. Whether you're just popping in for a quick bite or settling in for a meal, the hospitality at Banana Bar turns a good meal into a great memory. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Koh Samet who wants delicious Thai food with character, charm, and heart.

The food was tasty but the service is soooooooo slow. Expect to wait over 1 hour even though there are only 3 tables to serve. Moreover, the food is really expensive the juice was 40 baht but not even fresh, it was just a glass full of ice with industrial pineapple juice
