Banana Bungalow Hollywood Hotel & Hostel

I had such a fantastic stay at this hostel in the heart of Hollywood! From the moment I checked in, I felt like I was joining a big, fun community of travelers. The Banana Vibe! The staff were incredibly friendly and seemed genuinely invested in helping everyone make connections and have an unforgettable experience. They organized fun nights, some little activities and gave great tips for exploring the city, which created this amazing spirit of adventure that kept us all excited. The free social breakfast was one of my favorite parts — not just because the food was great, but because it brought everyone together around the garden to swap stories and plan the day. I ended up making some really great friends from all over the world, and we went exploring together almost every day. The location could not be better. It’s just steps away from the Hollywood Walk of Fame — I loved spotting the famous stars on the sidewalk — and it’s a quick trip to the iconic Griffith Observatory for those breathtaking views. I also really appreciated how close it was to the Hollywood Hills, perfect for spontaneous hikes and clearing your head after a busy day. If you’re looking for a place that’s clean, social, and packed with good vibes, this is it. Can’t wait to come back!

I've stayed there a couple times now. The staff have always been nice and very helpful. It's a nice quiet area and close to a lot of touristy destinations. So it's very convenient and the prices are very reasonable. The rooms have been very clean and well maintained. The only downfall is that the rooms could use some updating. But was out having good times on the tours and at the karaoke and meeting everyone from all over the world to really care much about the rooms appearance. So not a huge deal at all. Would highly recommend booking here. Has a little bit of everything for everyone.

The best hostel in Los Angeles! Two locations (Hollywood & West Hollywood). As a solo traveler, it was easy to meet new people. Facilities were great! Modern-Retro style. Lots of outdoor lounge areas offered. Free Breakfast & staff were absolutely amazing!

Banana Bungalows are the best hostels in LA! I've stayed at both locations, and each have a cool interesting vibe. Best parts are the value (price), staff, and meeting other travelers. Well organized activities are also fun. Both locations in Hollywood & West Hollywood are very central.

This place Definitely exceeded my expectations! It was super clean and the water got super hot which made me very happy! The dorm had a full kitchenette with a full fridge and microwave. The dorm also had 1 king and 1 bunk so, it can fit 3-4 people comfortably. I was so impressed at how nice this place was! Seeing the Hollywood sign from the courtyard was also a plus! I definitely will be staying here again the next time I visit Hollywood! 10 out of 10!

Love the Banana ! We had so much fun here. The staff was really helpful and the place has bright colors and lots palm trees. They have secure parking, and the rooms have a private bathroom and cool kitchen, yes a full kitchen in our room, how awesome. Very affordable and excellent location, near all the hotspots in Hollywood.

For the price the rooms are clean and very nice! We had a bbq and I got to meet others from around the world! The gentleman who was in charge of the bbq was so nice and welcoming! If you go to Hollywood this is the place to go!

Safe, clean affordable friendly and lively! Most of the bad reviews honestly just expected a hotel and got a hostel. If you're looking to go out on Hollywood Blvd this place is it.
