"Banana leaf is the perfect place to have lunch with your friends and family on the days that you can’t help but crave the taste of the South. In accordance to the name, the various classic South Indian dishes such as dosas, idlis and vadas are served over a banana leaf and along with these delicacies you can sip on a cup of ‘Kaapi’ filter coffee. Some dishes that are recommended are their Jain Thakkali Parippu Rasam, Chef Special Dakshin Masala Idli and Achari Masala Dosa. Another must try is their Malappuram with Appams. This is the go to place for the people looking to have authentic delicacies from Southern Indian in Versova." - The Vibe

South Indian with quick service & decent sitting. Sunday, it was my first time to visit this place. It was decently full but it will not be tough to get table. Ordered benne thatte idli, dosa, appam & butter milk. Best part they have given benne menu at one place. All the stuff was good, but thatte idli was best. Butter milk was very average. Wanted to try their main course also, will do & share genuine feed about that. Cost - 3/5 - ₹900 (for 2 with drinks) Ambiance - 3/5 Service - 4/5 Parking - valet Outdoor sitting - yes Should try 😎

I don't even know where to begin this branch specifically of banana leaf used to be so good today everything was just bland and the chutneys were watery the masala in the dosa was sour and smelled a lot. The imlee soda is the best one here but it didn't even feel as if i was drinking imlee soda and they gave us no ice in the drinks. Only the panniyaram and benne dosa was good but coorg idli and rava masala dosa... Special appam and even their sambhar tasted bad and weird. Their service has gotten way worse and the waiters are talking to themselves using phones.

This Restaurant is located in Versova Near Metro Station. Has multiple branches in Mumbai. Only has veg options to choose from. Known for his traditional South Indian Dishes. Ordered Benne Masala Dosa,Benne Ragi Masala Dosa,Paneer Bhurji Dosa and Mini Special Thali. Each item has its own uniqueness served in Banana Leaf. Benne Dosa has special aroma and Powder on it. Paneer Bhurji Dosa has filled stuffed paneer in it served with chutneys. And thali has veg dishes with wide variety of vegetables and rice. Quantity is good and can be sufficient. Price is okay. Has ample space to seat inside and parking facility is available too. Staff is friendly. Can be recommended for South Indian Food and Snacks.

It is one of the best option for specially South Indian food in this part of Mumbai. We came here during lunch time. We had Anna Idli, Benne Masala Dosa, Masala Dosa, Paneer Bhurji Dosa and Filter Coffee. The food was quite good specially Idli. Beside South Indian they had a lot of other options in menu. The service was very courteous and fast. Worth visiting...

We talk about the authentic South Indian flavors at Banana Leaf restaurant. We ordered must-try dishes like the Mysore Masala Dosa, Podi Masala Idli, and the Special Thali that offers a variety of South Indian delicacies. Every bite is described as 'bomb', and we encourage viewers to visit Banana Leaf to enjoy the authentic South Indian flavors.

Food: I ordered the Bisi Bele Bath, but unfortunately, it wasn’t fresh. It was also surprising that boondi wasn’t served alongside it by default. When I asked, the waiter casually responded, “Oh, do you need boondi as well?”—which was unexpected for a dish that typically includes it. Uttapam, Idly, Vada and sambar it was good, chutney wasn't tasty. Rasam : it was hot and not the best. Service: The banana leaf placed on the plate was not cleaned, despite several requests. I eventually had to pour water and wipe it down with a tissue myself. If self-cleaning is expected, it would be helpful for the staff to inform guests upfront so they can take necessary precautions before beginning their meal. Atmosphere: The ambiance was decent. With that price point,I would expect better service and taste.

The waiting system is inefficient, the valets are limited, so the delay in parking as well. The place is undergoing a renovation so extremely inconvenient. Pick another branch of Banana Leaf. They don’t take reservations online.

We visited Banana Leaf Andheri based on our great experiences at other branches, but unfortunately, this visit was a disappointment. Food: • Korma & Puri – One of the better dishes; the korma was flavorful, and the puris (served in a portion of five) were quite filling. • Benne Masala Dosa & Benne Sada Dosa – Both were really good. • Idli – Way too heavy and lacked flavor. • Medu Wada – Served five pieces, but the taste was very bland and unremarkable. • Filter Coffee – Ordered but never received, yet it was added to our bill (which we only realized after getting home). • Lime Soda – Not good. • Signature Paan – They initially claimed they had run out, but we could clearly see it at the counter. When we asked about it, they denied having any, which was disappointing. Ambience & Service: • The AC was not working due to an electricity issue, making it uncomfortably hot. • The washroom had no lights, which was quite inconvenient. • They were severely understaffed, making service slow and chaotic. The waiters seemed overwhelmed, rushed, and at times came across as rude. Given our past experiences with Banana Leaf, this was disappointing, and we wouldn’t recommend this branch.
