The restaurant BANANA 🍌 VERDE is located on a hill. It’s all vegetarian and vegan 🌱 restaurant. The dishes are well indicated weather they’re vegetarian or vegan. The interior is very cosy with lots of wood and plants. It gives you the feeling that you’re quite in the nature. It’s full of light and the staff is absolutely friendly and helpful giving you recommendations. The food was stunning. The menu is filled with lots of exquisite dishes to find something for everybody. It’s made in Portuguese and in English. I had different dishes and took something to-go with me because it really was amazing. I had the guacamole with banana crisps, the red risotto and the asparagus pasta. I liked the presentation. Great flavours and combinations. They have won different prizes. And they really set off a bench mark of its own. The bathrooms were clean when I was there. And I totally liked that there was an information poster in the bathroom that they’re a save spot if you need help. I will definitely come back. Another great favourite place of mine in São Paulo. I absolutely can recommend you this place.

Great vegan food, beautiful location like in a treehouse, but very pricey for Brazil

Google
Great food and fast service. The pumpkin pasta and black risotto were both delicious. Wine was good but not on the menu. A bit pricey, but worth it for the quality.

Great food made by plants. Had a marvelous experience in this restaurante. The pumpkin soup was so good that I’ve tried to replicate it at home twice, theirs were better but it was definitely a inspiring food.

Amazing vegan food, really worth it. I had the baiao and my partner had the risotto, we both loved it, along with the guacamole with plantain chips.

Google
Very nice place to eat. A romantic setting, candle light tables in the evening, great atmosphere, friendly staff, our waiter spoke good English, the food is delicious, the price of the meals isn't so bad, but you don't get a big portion of food, it's quality over quantity here. They do offer a 3 course option for $65 which is good value for money. Highly recommend for couples looking for a romantic meal at a reasonable price. If this review was helpful please give it a like :) enjoy.

Yelp
This was our favourite meal of the trip and we had some amazing ones. We were famished and so ordered a lot of food, which was much more than we could handle. We ordered: -Guacamole with banana chips: this was a nice appy to start the meal, coming with very nicely seasoned guac and dehydrated banana chips. Great way to start the meal. Large portion. -Two different types of vegan quiche that were both decadent, rich and well-spiced. Great creamy texture and quite filling -Black risotto - one of the best risottos I've ever had. Very creamy, with lots of vegan mozzarella, mushrooms, pumpkin seeds, and plenty of microgreens on top. Absolutely divine. -Baião de dois (vegan). I hadn't tried one of these before, and man was it incredible. The main dish was a rice-based dish with vegan sausage, firm tofu, and veggies with a very complex flavour and wonderful textures. On the side was an incredible garlic-sauteed kale, fried banana, and a sort of polenta-like mash with hearts of palm/jackfruit(? - look up) that was sensational. Our server spoke no English, so we communicated via Google Translate. He was so kind, hospitable and friendly--told us he loved serving us at the end. Can't say enough good things about this place. You must try out Banana Verde.

Yelp
Was able to snag a table at around 8 on a Sunday night. The restaurant is mostly vegetarian/vegan. The atmosphere felt like we were in a jungle cafe somewhere. It is very open and airy. What we ordered: the menu is pretty extensive, but we narrowed it down to the plantain chips and guacamole, hummus, and the asparagus vegan pasta. Everything was amazing, but my favorite was the hummus. Especially with the roasted carrots on top. These 3 dishes were perfect to split between two people. The service was great. They accept credit card and it was a fair price for the quality of the food.

Yelp
Decided to come here because the name is so adorable & boy are we glad we went inside. This adorable restaurant was worth the very very short & steep uphill walk up the street. The food was FANTASTIC, from the edamame burger, to the sangria & carmelized banana dessert, I have no complaints. Went with 3 other friends & we had the best service and everything was insanely delicious. We got our meal vegetarian style and they do have vegan options & modifications as well. We will definitely be back and let all of our friends know that Banana Verde is the place to go.

Yelp
First time to Brazil, traveling alone. Stayed in Vila Madalena for the variety of bars and restaurants to walk to. So glad I found this place. Unbelievably delicious food and amazing service, catering to my inability to speak Portuguese. English menu available. They seem to make every customer feel important, and their service time is excellent. Fresh tasting food and refreshing cocktails. Will 100% come back here again.

Yelp
Wonderful experience at Banana Verde. The food was delicious. Portions were well sized and there were plenty of vegan and gluten-free options. I had the tartare de pupunha and the vegan mousse. The mousse was sooooo good; best chocolate mousse I've ever had. It was like the consistency of a soft chocolate truffle- divine. My friends who went with me had the mandioca soup and the risoto vermelho com shitake. Everything was great and I'll be back soon for more mousse.

Yelp
This place made me want to become a vegan, really good food and beautiful place. If you're into natural juices or sucos, try the pineapple with hortela, simply amazing! It was a little bit pricy, plus you'll have to add the valet parking

Yelp
A self proclaimed carnivore, dating a vegetarian of 26 years comes with some compromise. On a Sunday morning like any other (hungover) my beau and I wondered over for a leisurely lunch. We were greeted by a thoughtful salad bar comprised of various concoctions, each one more delicious than the last. My favorite, a black wild rice corn dish with a lemon vinaigrette. DELICIOUS. After gorging ourselves on plates of candied pears, blue cheese, gluten free herbed focaccia, quinoa cucumber mash, and soup we moved on to our mains. Mine: brown rice, lentil, cranberry pilaf with pumpkin puree, mushrooms, and a grilled zucchini topped with sunflower seeds. IT. WAS. INCREDIBLE. The pumpkin puree was bursting with flavor. The boy: cheese stuffed agnolotti with tomato and basil. BORING. This was the only dish we found very underwhelming. But honestly, how crazy can a bowl of pasta with red sauce be. To get our sweet tooth on we polished off the meal with gluten free chocolate pie. I heard the heavens singing with every bite I took. While this place would never turn me into a VEG HEAD like my better half, it sure did come close. We will definitely be back on more Sundays to come, when the caipirinhas came in way too hot the night before and we want to feel better about ourselves the morning after.

Yelp
Lovely veg restaurant in the madalena area of Sao P. Menu is limited but with respect for fresh and seasonal vegetables. Saladbar, main and dessert for 38 real. Great for lunch or lazy late brunch during the weekend

Yelp
Everything about this place is amazing. I've never thought I would enjoy so much a vegetarian restaurant. Amazing ambience, awesome food and very friendly staff.

Yelp
Food is good, they even offer a vegan menu, which is very useful for a plant based person like me. I had the guacamole with fried banana as an entree and the edamame burger as a main, they all tasted good, but a little grease (I know, I'm having grease food I should expect some grease, but it was a little too much for a place that places itself as a healthy restaurant). My big issue and complain is with the service of the place. The food took too long to arrive and I waited 40 minutes between the entree and the main plate to arrive. I had to ask 3 times the waiter who was avoiding eye contact in the end and was surprised and rude after me telling him I was not going to tip him. My 2 stars goes for the full experience with the place because the service was so bad that offset the fact that the food was actually good.

Yelp
Great food but pricey. Small portions. I didn't get what I ordered but I don't speak Portugese.

Yelp
Within a day of landing in São Paulo for the first time, I realized that being a vegetarian here would be hard. Most of the places in the Vila Madalena neighborhood were Brazilian Steakhouses, and the ones that weren't were either closed (at 8pm!) or had menus in Portuguese that I could hardly decipher. In the midst of this all I was lucky enough to find a gem (thanks yelp!)...a vegetarian restaurant! It's hard to categorize this place into a specific cuisine, but given that there were a bunch of pasta options, you could say that this place is kinda Italian. The ambiance is cozy and has this characteristic of being romantic for folks on a date or casual for friends catching up over dinner. The staff is friendly, the menu is in English and the food was really good. The per person bill came out to around 40 R$ which I guess is a little on the pricey side. But hey, a place with that ambiance and food quality would probably be way more expensive in San Francisco :P

Yelp
This is my favorite vegetarian restaurant in São Paulo. There is a good selection of dishes with delicious appetizers and desserts. They have a small but good selection of wine and craft beer. Every dish has a great selection of ingredients that are matched beautifully and creatively. The price is certainly above the average in SP, but it's worth it without a doubt. I've eaten there several times and have also ordered for delivery and was happy every single time.
