Band Baaja Boba: An Indian Bubble Tea Experience

I’m in love with this place! I got to try this at Smorgasburg at The Row DTLA which is every Sunday. I got the Haldi Doodh (turmeric ginger milk) and it was delicious! I will say that it was quite a sweet drink (I’d put it at about 80% on a boba sweetness level) which was perfect for me. It wasn’t too spicy either, it was just enough and I think a lot of people will like it! I’m a huge chai lover and so I’m excited how many of the drinks feature spices and nuts. I’ll definitely be back to try more.

I got the valentines special Love Potion N. 9. Absolutely delicious and refreshing rose lychee soda! The foam is perfectly sweet and when you mix the drink it fizzes up like a real potion. Wonderful drink all around; This drink completed my experience at DTLA Smorgasburg.

Desi Boba?! This has to be the most unique fusion boba concept in SoCal. Classic and Desi-inspired original recipes that are fresh and delicious. Our drinks were prepared by the owner -- Sanjay -- and he was so kind and hospitable. I had the Horchaita (gotta love the play on words there!) and it was fantastic, but we'll definitely be back to try a new pistachio drink he told us he has in the works.

The drinks were amazing - great flavors and even better service. The owner was extremely kind and quickly made us drinks as we were in a rush for a wedding event. So glad we made the stop, truly some of the best and most unique boba we’ve had - strongly recommend to anyone in Norco area!

We had the absolute pleasure of booking Band Baaja Boba for our wedding ceremony, and it was truly one of the best decisions we made. From our very first conversation with Sanjay, his passion for boba and genuine excitement about being part of our celebration shone through. He went above and beyond to craft a custom drink menu that reflected our love story and personalities, featuring creations like the Mumbai Kala Khatta Lemonade, Georgia Peach Lassi, and the OC “Arnav” Palmer. Each drink was not only delicious and refreshing, but also deeply personal — a unique and thoughtful touch that made our day even more special. Sanjay was incredibly accommodating, even with our last-minute changes — whether it was adding new drinks or stepping in as a boba attendant on the day of the wedding. His flexibility, professionalism, and warmth made the entire experience seamless and enjoyable. On a hot and sunny wedding day, our guests were raving about the creative and refreshing drinks — they were a total hit! We’re so grateful to Sanjay for his energy, creativity, and dedication, and we wholeheartedly recommend Band Baaja Boba to anyone looking to add something truly memorable and meaningful to their special day.

The boba drinks at this place are amazing! It has very unique & delicious flavors you will not get at regular boba places. We tried several drinks and some of our favorites are Mango Lassi, Brown Sugar Boba Masala Chai, Parle G Masala Latte and Gulab (Rose). The delivery service was exceptional!

I've been on a chai kick for a while now, so of course, the first thing I had to try was their Iced Masala Chai, which was amazing! And if you like more cinnamon in your blend, then grab the Horchaita. While I'm no expert, the spices here taste richer than a lot of places I've been to recently. The brown sugar boba wasn't super sweet, which was great because it didn't overpower, and I bet it complements every drink on their menu. I honestly can't wait to go back and try more.

Had my first experience with Band Baja Boba at a wedding and they have amazing flavors. The raw mango with mango popping boba was wonderful! I would definitely recommend anyone to give this place a shot.

Thank you to Sanjay who were there answering all of our questions and giving us some really awesome information about Band Baaja Boba! It was Halloween and it was such a sweet treat to have their booth set up for us to enjoy. I tried the milk tea (no boba). But I am intrigued in their Indian tea for the milk tea! I will definitely try to see where they're going to pop up next to get me some more milk tea. The drinks are very refreshing and delicious! It was not overly sweet, and it is very fragrant. Can't wait until we meet again Band Baaja Boba! And I was so excited about the drink, I finished it before getting a picture so next time, I will make sure to get a better picture for reference.

Love the unique concept with Indian flavors. There are oat milk & almond milk options to make it vegan. You can order ahead & just pick it up. The owner is lovely & def want to support this business. Tropical thunder dirty soda & thandai which is naturally vegan since made with almond milk was great! I added coffee jelly. My husband didn't find variyali soda to be of variyali flavor & the kaju pista shake had a bit more sugar than the actual flavor according to the people I got the drinks for.

Iced masala chai is the perfect blend of chai and milk tea! You will not be disappointed! It is topped with a Parle G cookie that will make you feel like a kid again! Definitely a must stop at Smorgasburg LA!

I recently visited and tried the Kesar-pista sharbat. Ive had a variety of experiences with saffron, but was happy with the balanced blend of spices and sweetness. Also, the pearls were nicely flavored and chewy. I'm excited to visit more frequently and explore the different menu options. Highly recommend for boba lovers and anyone looking for a unique twist on the usual boba drinks!

We recently stumbled upon this hidden gem while visiting the IE, and we've been back twice we love it so much!   They offer a fantastic range of flavors that you won't find anywhere else. Last time I tried the Guava Lassi Boba which was uniquely tropical and sweet, and so pretty. My friend had the Parle Cookie Butter Latte, which was equally delicious and so cute with the little cookies on top!   I highly recommend ordering ahead. The first time we came there was a bit of a wait, because from what I understand the owner makes the drinks himself if you are a "walk-in". So we took his advice and ordered ahead while we were driving over and they were waiting for us when we got there which was great.   A must try if you're in the area, like Indian food, or just good drinks in general.

Took a minute to find the place. It's a ghost kitchen. But totally worth the drive. Drinks were perfect (not too sweet) & refreshing! The owner is so sweet and gave us his honest recommendations. Love supporting small businesses. Can't wait to go back and try some more drinks!

What an amazing treat on a hot summer afternoon! The owner, Sanjay was very hospitable and willing to take the time to explain all the drinks that we had questions about. He even was able to make a toddler friendly drink for our little one!

When I say my sister and I STUMBLED across this gem! You have to give this new fusion Boba spot a try. While we were standing out there, trying to figure out how to order the owner came out to the door. he was the nicest guy ever and we loved his customer service and his dream to open this business. If you do anything this weekend, stop by and give this spot a shot. Oh and the drinks were awesome and so creative. We loved all the options.

Such an interesting and unique concept on boba, yet the drinks are fantastic in taste and execution. We were not disappointed with the Guava Lassi with lychee jelly and Brown Sugar Boba Masala Chai, and we will be back to try new flavors. Starting with the Guava Lassi, it is a yogurt based drink with a nice tang that was paired really well with the sweetness of guava flavor and lychee jelly. It tastes like a better, more fresh version of yakult. As for the Brown Sugar Masala Chai, the classic drink is enhanced with a distinct Indian taste and the boba was cooked well with a soft chewy texture. Highly recommended! As of this posting on 6/14: at their current location on 1434 Hamner Ave., there is no storefront as they are operating out of a ghost kitchen. You can order online through GrubHub or via phone text/call to pick up, and they will bring out your drinks to your car. We look forward to visiting their own brick and mortar one day, but in the meantime, we will continue to come back to try other flavors!

I ordered boba drinks from them a couple of times, and I have NOT been disappointed. I saw that they offer their services for events, and now I can't wait to throw a party, just to hire them.

Such a unique concept and one that the community has been awaiting in our area for such a long time! I visited for the first time today and ordered the brown sugar boba masala chai and it exceeded all expectations. Service was very friendly to top off the experience. Will definitely be returning, wishing them much success in this new endeavor.

Wow! Heard about this place through a friend. What a unique twist on boba! I had the Parle Cookie Butter Latte and it was so delicious! Excellent service to boot! Looking forward to trying out some other flavors in the future for sure.

Loved this place! I had the Thandai with brown sugar boba and it was delightful, it was not too sweet and it had a hint of pepper which I loved. We were able to meet the owner and he was so kind, he has so much creativity and passion please support his business it won't disappoint!!

Soo so good. We tried this place after being in the area, and are now hooked. I felt really good after finishing my drink, which usually isn't the case after drinking boba xD. I love the menu item descriptions and marketing vibe, which makes the brand very unintimidating even when I'm not as familiar with the spices. I can't wait to try more drinks!

Dropped by this boba shop on the way back home. The drinks were incredibly tasty! My mom and I got the guava milk tea and the Chandan milk tea. The service was also very nice, thank you Band Baaja Boba!

This was hands down the best boba tea I have ever tried. On top of that, the owner was so sweet! I was waiting for ten minutes and he offered to give me discounted drinks for the wait, which I thought was so kind :). They have a variety of options to choose from and if you're trying to avoid sugar, they have sugar free options as well! I got a matcha boba with whole milk and it was so good. I'm looking forward to try the whole menu lol. Many blessings to come to this wonderful owner!!

Soo good! I've tried every drink and each one is so refreshing and full of flavor My favorite was the saffron almond doodh. It was full of little almond pieces that made it extra yummy and nutty, and the drink was sooo creamy and rich! The boba worked really well with it too. The guy behind it all was incredibly sweet too and showed me how he makes everything. Would definitely recommend!

I ordered badam doodh and keasr pista sharbat. They both were great!!! My husband really enjoyed the sherbet drink. Thanks to the desi guy who created these..

Such an amazing place, Sanjay makes you feel like family! The drinks were among the best I've ever had and the fact that they have an Indian twist is just the whipped cream on top absolute chefs perfection! He stayed open late just for me and my family to get a quick fix on a road trip back to LA and let me tell you I will be going out of my way to come back, what an amazing gem; all the desis need to come here and anyone who enjoys drinking tea or coffee!

I dont usually write reviews but one afternoon I had a serious craving for boba and came across this gem. The only thing to outdo the presentation was the actual drinks themselves. Band Baaja Boba definitely hit the spot with all the classic flavors and the menu is full creative new drinks with Indian flair. I was originally lured in by the Mango Lassi and have tried the Alphonso Mango and Guava but my favorite, at the moment, is probably the Horchaita. I cant wait to work my way through the menu and look forward to discovering new flavors with my family.

Tried their Thandai to ease off from the scorching heat. Very soothing and delicious! They have a wide range of offerings.

His drinks are the beat! Brown sugar coffee with boba was bomb! His unique flavors make you want to try them all.
