B&B 5 Balconi

We had a truly wonderful experience staying at this property. The place was clean, comfortable, and exactly as described. The location was perfect, making it easy to explore and enjoy the area. The host was super friendly and incredibly helpful, going above and beyond to make sure we had a fantastic holiday. They even created daily plans and recommended places to visit, which made our trip so much easier and more enjoyable. It really felt like they made it their mission to ensure we had the best time possible. Another highlight was the wonderful breakfast served each morning – fresh, delicious, and the perfect way to start the day. We couldn’t have asked for a better stay and would definitely return. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a relaxing, well-organized, and memorable holiday!

We had a wonderful stay at Rob and Cristina’s B&B! They were incredibly kind, welcoming, and helpful throughout our visit. The property itself is full of charm and character with a beautifully unique interior. The location is also perfect - close to everything. We’d definitely love to come back again!

Amazing! The owner Rob is so kind and helpful, we had an amazing time! The breakfast was outstanding and there was both sweet and savory options and rooms were nice and clean. The location was perfect for anyone wanting to experience both the touristic and more authentic side of Catania.

We originally booked a three-night stay in a twin single room at this B&B. However within 30 minutes of checking in my brother and I decided to seek alternative accommodation due to the 1800s bedroom door lock being jammed. The host was attempting to demonstrate how to use it, but spent 20 minutes and different sets of keys trying to get it to work and at one point even asking us to try ourselves. Feeling concerned about the security and reliability of the door, we informed the host that we preferred to find another place to stay. She offered us a different room, but it only had a double bed, which didn’t suit our needs. Shortly after we declined the offer, the host did manage to fix the lock. However we explained that despite it working, we were not comfortable staying due to the possibility of the issue recurring. At that point, the host's attitude changed dramatically. She became rude, hostile and yelled at us to get out. After we left the property, she sent us an unprofessional email which was a bit unhinged.

I don’t normally leave reviews but my stay at 5 Balconi B&B was amazing! Cristina was an excellent host with great information about the city. The room and bathroom were clean. The WiFi was fast. Plenty of options to eat at breakfast. A wonderfully decorated place. Overall an amazing stay!

All the reviews are right on! Rob and Cristina are fantastic hosts of a very quirky B&B. Rooms are great. Breakfast is personalized - we had yogurt, fruit and cornettos. Another couple was served cheese and charcuterie. Rooms are very comfortable. Bathrooms are shared. 5balconi is in a very authentic area. Arriving at night we thought we had wandered onto a Fellini set. Catania is a walkable city and 5balconi is great for those who enjoy getting involved in a place, not just touring. The best pizza in Sicily is two blocks away. Cristina or Rob will point the way.

We found 5 Balconi by happy accident after booking into a nearby holiday let which turned out to be less than perfect. We turned up at the door of 5 Balconi and were met by Rob, who was so friendly and helpful - he offered us a room and showed us round, made sure we were happy with the facilities, and generally rescued what would otherwise have been a fairly dire stay in Catania. The B&B is charming, quirky and characterful, as are the owners! Our high-ceilinged room was spotlessly clean and very comfortable - the air conditioning was highly efficient. Rob gave us loads of recommendations for places to visit and to eat - it was like staying with friends who know the city inside out. Highly recommended - thanks so much Rob and Cristina

An excellent choice to stay during your vacation to Catania. Clean rooms and bathroom, nice breakfast and in a great location, near the center (walking distance) and public transport. Christina was an excellent hostess with great recommendations for the city and always available to help us with what we needed. The only negative was that the performance of the air condition was a bit poor and we stayed during a heat wave.
