We originally booked a three-night stay in a twin single room at this B&B. However within 30 minutes of checking in my brother and I decided to seek alternative accommodation due to the 1800s bedroom door lock being jammed. The host was attempting to demonstrate how to use it, but spent 20 minutes and different sets of keys trying to get it to work and at one point even asking us to try ourselves. Feeling concerned about the security and reliability of the door, we informed the host that we preferred to find another place to stay. She offered us a different room, but it only had a double bed, which didn’t suit our needs.
Shortly after we declined the offer, the host did manage to fix the lock. However we explained that despite it working, we were not comfortable staying due to the possibility of the issue recurring.
At that point, the host's attitude changed dramatically. She became rude, hostile and yelled at us to get out. After we left the property, she sent us an unprofessional email which was a bit unhinged.
