B&B Al Gallion

Daniela and Giuseppe are wonderful hosts and made our stay in Venice all the more special. Daniela met us at the Vaporetta stop We took our bags to her home and then she showed us around the local area orienting us to help us find our way around. Throughout our time in Venice Daniela’s local knowledge helped make Venice come alive from the perspective of a local. We had two private bedrooms , bathroom, and a lovely lounge with breakfast table. Each morning we rose to the smell of freshly brewed coffee, breads, delicious home made cakes and jams, yoghurt & fresh fruits, and Daniela to give advice about our plan for the day. Their home is located a 10 minute walk fro the Rialto Bridge and market and just a short walk from the nearest vaporetto. A wonderful home in the heart of Venice.

This was my first stay in Venice and what a wonderful experience it was. Daniela is a perfect hostess and both she and Giuseppe were extremely helpful. Daniela had even set out a special map to help me access all the great places to visit and told me about some amazing places I would not have known about if it was't for her knowledge. The breakfast was generous and included her home cooked cakes. Everything was spotlessly clean. Al Gallion is close to the Piazzale Roma and the train station. I highly recommend Daniella,Giuseppe and Al Gallion.

We spent 2 nights here during our visit to Venice, and would love to visit again! Daniela gave us a map, explaining how to make our way to all the attractions. She also gave us tips on avoiding the crowds to find our way into a square with some wonderful spots for dinner. This B&B is very clean, with attention to detail. She will make you a delicious breakfast to start the day, and you will enjoy the beautiful art displayed in her home. If you are lucky enough to book here-you won't regret it!

This is a true B&B. You are staying in the home of your host, Daniela and her husband. We had 2 bedrooms and our own bath. Daniela went above and beyond with her very detailed map of the water taxi routes and stops which was invaluable. Daniela also was a great source of information about the history of Venice, her neighborhood and even her building. The location is close to the train station and a short walk to the water taxi. Her homemade jams and breads were a pleasant start to our day. She was by far, our favorite host for our Italian vacation.

located in a Venice neighborhood. Yes, I said neighborhood, away from the crowds of tourists! Daniella and Giuseppe are the hosts and welcome you into their lovely home with lace curtains and wonderful breezes through the opened windows. Our bedroom was very spacious offering an "extra" room with a twin bed, too. We were thankful for the room since we had too much luggage! The bathroom was down the hall but the B&B only has one room and so it wasn't inconvenient. We, always, book B&B's with private bathrooms but Daniella explained the arrangements and she was correct. We loved the time she spent with us, advising us on transportation, etc. ||As one reviewer said it is not far from the train station nor transportation. Of course, you mostly, walk, in Venice! I loved the little alleys that led us to and from, there. The local restaurants were very nice. We went to more than one, right around the corner and after dealing with the crowds by the Rialto Bridge, we were very thankful to come "home" to Al Gallion. ||Daniella, we apologize for this late review.

This is much like staying in a wonderful family member's home. Daniela our host made our stay so wonderful. ||||First, it is well located -- you can walk from the train station or to Piazza Romale. This is important if you have an early flight to catch for instance and the boats aren't running yet. ||||Second, the rooms are large and spotlessly clean, with books, antiques, traditional glass Venetian chandeliers, and art work by her father-in-law. We had two interconnecting rooms, with one queen bed and two twin beds. The bathroom is private and just across the living room. This may put some off but this is not a problem as the whole place is so private. ||||Third, the breakfast was wonderful. Coffee, tea, yogurt, homemade jams, bread, and whatever wonderful traditional baked good that Daniela made the night before. ||||Fourth, the map! We are going to frame her map. She draws little known sights, ferry routes, and recommended restaurants all across Venice. If you think Venice is crowded and touristy (we saw 5 full-size cruise ships docked!) Daniela will guide you slightly off the beaten path to find the true Venice. ||||Fifth, Daniela and Giuseppe were wonderful hosts that were waiting for us even though our train was delayed. They talk and give recommendations as much or as little as you would like, are around when you need them, but are not underfoot. ||||This is great value in a city full of overpriced hotels with a wonderful personal touch in someone's gracious Venetian home. Wow!

Being four young girls, visiting Venice due to a school trip and staying at 'Al Galion' was absolutly perfect. The breakfast was delicious,the beds were very comfortable and we even had our own bathroom. Our hostmother, Daniela, cared perfectly for us and was always concerned for our wellbeing. There was not a single problem with two of us having an intolerance towards gluten.||||If you are seachring for a fabulous place to stay 'Al Galion' is absolutly perfect for you. We would definitely recommend staying at this gorgeous place and we would come back in no time.

This is our 3rd stay with Daniela and Giuseppe who always make this wonderful city even better. They are warm and so helpful; we even took time from our lengthy itinerary this time to travel for 2 night stay just to see them. As stated the bathroom, although only for our use, is away from the bedroom as this is a historical home. Daniela works to answer any questions on sights, transportation, dining along with providing a very detailed map. Her breakfasts are wonderful with her baked items, yogurt, fruit, great coffee. We love the Santa Croce area with its less touristy atmosphere, winding alleys, yet close to train station and vaparetto stop. I hesitate to praise too much as I would hope it is always available for our return. This is our 3rd fall visit where we are greeted as friends and treated like family.
