We stayed a few nights in two separate rooms, as we took a trip out of Samarkand. The hotel has a lovely atmosphere and friendly staff. Few biscuits, tea and coffee throughout the day. The breakfast is delicious. The first room we stayed in had a great tiled bathroom, air con and firm beds. For our best stay, the beds were a bit too cushiony, there was no air con and the bathroom had a cheap plastic ‘box’ as a shower. Still perfectly good, but I think there is a lot of variation in the rooms!

I'd recommend it to a friend Pro - We were around 11 (1h before offcial check-in time) and they allowed as to leave the luggage while the lady was still cleaning the room - Fabulous breakfast - Mentioned in lonely planet and on Wikitravel so well known among backpakers - even in less busy season (mid-September) some other backpackers present on the breakfast so interesting morning discussions - Nice green inner patio - Very close to Registan so great location Con - as mentioned in the reviews - very old. For example thing keeping the curtains together in our room has fallen apart when I touched it - hard matresss - but this is typical in Uzbekistan

Really convenient location with very friendly and helpful personel. A beautiful garden where you can chill out during the heat of the day with some tea. The rooms are nothing luxury, but that is in balance with the low price of this hotel. An absolute amazing place if you don't mind having a bit less luxury in your room!

B&B Bahodir offers wonderful hospitality in the busy touristy areas of Samarkand. Located a mere 5,6 minutes by walk from the Registan, this property is close to the major actions in tourism. It is also quite close to the train station. I do think that the rooms and the facilities tend to be a little bit aged. The shower in our room was a trickle. But its location, the friendly staff and the wonderful breakfast that they serve with so much heart made my stay in Samarkand extra memorable. I highly recommend this property for the above reasons, and if the shower doesn’t work, just ask to change room.

Having a friendly establishment makes all the difference when reflecting over accommodation stays. The family here were kind, attentive and positive throughout my six night visit, as was the overall vibe of the hotel. The location is central whilst being situated in a quieter street away from the tourist bustle which is extra pleasing. The breakfasts were pleasant too as was the interior travel-orientated design - lots of memories, stories and messages from past travel enrhusiasts adorn many of the walls - which gives this place a layer of sentimentality. For the price paid the overall value was very good and I would stay again. The shower water was pleasing and the air-con worked perfectly. My only recommendation would be a little extra care to the downstairs restroom, but aside from that, all was well.

I stayed in this B&B 10 years ago when I cycle toured from Beijing to Istanbul. It was winter and when I arrived at Samarkand it was 5pm, I rode pass Bahodir and I liked it on the first sight, I went in, there are 4 touring cyclists in the compound, I knew I was in the right place. Great people and hospitality. I loved every single minute I stayed in Bahodir. the host are friend and the rooms are clean. highly recommended.

A super nice hostel with a fabulous hovli (garden). They set up several of those wooden platforms with dasturxons (draped with rugs and korpachas of course) where you can just sit and drink tea and instant coffee, available at all hours of the day, and listen to birds sing. The WiFi is some of the fastest i've ever encountered in Uzbekistan - 60mbps! and the staff, who seem to just be a big family, are endlessly friendly and helpful.

It is a pity to see such lovely and welcoming people run a badly tended hostel. We were welcomed with watermelon and tea by our host but became very disenchanted as we entered the room : the beds were okay for the price you pay but the bathroom was really dirty and the toilet had clearly not be cleaned. There was no air conditioning which made it painful to sleep.||We have traveled in various hostels before and some were as old as Bahodir (it was one of the first hostel) but the owner needs to renovate it badly to have at least the basics. It is clearly not worth 13$ / personnbut way below.||Regarding food, breakfast was okay.
