Brilliant hotel, tasty breakfast and amazing service. I would highly recommend staying here. My colleague and I stayed for a few days for business. It was clean, classy and I loved the tall ceilings and spacious rooms. Diederik waited up quite late for me to arrive. I really appreciate him. My flight was delayed and worse still my mobile didn’t have any signal. It was my first time visiting Belgium and it was a little disorienting to have landed in the middle of the night and then not have a working phone. If he had not waited for me to figure out where the hotel was I may have had to spend the night on the street. I really appreciate the service and will visit again for sure. The picture is a view from my room.

This is the most wonderful bed and breakfast in the center of Mechelen. It is a beautiful restored townhouse. The bedroom was huge with a separate huge luxurious bathroom. The breakfast was fantastic in a breakfast room on the first floor filled with wonderful old books and prints and there was a lovely sitting room also. It felt like you were in residence at someone's lovely home--which essentially you are as the owner served me breakfast.||||Dusk till Dawn is the loveliest tiny bed and breakfast I have stayed at in memory.

I really enjoyed staying in this wonderful renovated townhouse, with its tasteful and playful modern design elements inside. My room was "Dusk," with huge windows facing the street and the church. It was very quiet, as the center of Mechelen is almost free of car traffic. Each morning I ate a magnificent breakfast with juice, coffee, fruit, yogurt, assorted fresh breads, and eggs cooked to order. At some B&B's I have the sense that the "breakfast" part is just an afterthought -- it is NOT like that here. Also, the hosts at Dusk Till Dawn have just the right level of friendliness for a B&B, in my opinion -- they seem welcoming and happy to answer questions, but they maintain a professional distance. || ||It's a 10-minute walk to the train station, and from Mechelen, it's quite easy to visit Brussels, Bruges, Ghent, etc., by train. There are tons of trains to and from Mechelen. You don't need a car at all. Locals ride bicycles around town, but it's also a very walkable city, with lovely canals, lots of cafes, and a few very nice restaurants. I learned that about 10 years ago, Mechelen was not a very nice place at all, but there has been a huge clean-up of the river, buildings, and even (former) criminal elements -- making it a great base for exploring Belgium! ||||I would go back to Mechelen, and I certainly would stay at Dusk Till Dawn again.

My family and I have stayed at this B&B during Christmas and New Year for about 2 weeks. At the end of our holiday it felt like a home away from home. We could not find fault with anything. Diderick and Ann are lovely, helpful and knowledgable hosts - nothing was too much for them. We enjoyed delicious breakfasts every morning in the breakfast room and also had the use of a lounge room with a beautiful Christmas tree. The 2 bedrooms were huge with high ceilings, comfortable beds and lots of space. The bathrooms were beautifully restored with old fashioned fittings. The B&B is centrally located and within walking distance from the old part of town with shops and tourist attractions. I will not hesitate to stay in this B&B again and will recommend it to everyone.

This is a lovely bed and breakfast, situated in the center of Mechelen the house has been renovated to the traditional style. The bedroom was huge and the bathroom had a free standing bath and a separate shower. Breakfast was served in a separate dining area and there was a sitting room where you could get a beer or a glass of wine. ||||I would stay here again even though on the last day of my stay the bedroom wasnt made up - to be honest the duvet only needed straightening so I wasnt too fussed. ||||The only reason it hasnt got a 5 is that I felt the restocking of the room could be done every day, it is a minor thing but when the room has a bottle of water then I would expect it to be replenished if it is used on the first night. It seems like I am penalized for staying more than one night at a time. ||||However I would recommend this to anyone who wants a great place to stay in Mechelen.

Dusk till Dawn is carefully renovated and decorated with pleasant staff and a good location in central Mechelen. We stayed in the Dusk room, with a view of the street and the church. The room was spacious with an almost equally big bathroom. We slept well between linen sheets and much enjoyed the superb breakfast served in the tranquil garden at the back of the house.

We stayed in the Dawn Room which looks out on the garden, the rooms are really spacious, the bathroom is very pretty, with all nice old details of the original house, a stand alone bathtub and a rainshower with marble walls. The hosts are very welcoming , we were lucky to have breakfast outside in the beautifull garden, fresh yoghurt , fresh fruit, eggs made to your liking, all was perfect !
