"Formerly a private residence, this neoclassical villa is located in the center of Stari Grad, or the Old Town of Hvar, which is one of the oldest settlements in Europe (dating back to 384 B.C.E.) and much quieter than Hvar Town (which has become a summer party destination). Painted in pinks and whites, it sits on a deep channel across from the mainland, overlooking the main harbor with its moored yachts and sailboats. The owner named the villa after the Greek god Apollo, and now each of the seven suites also bear the name of a Greek muse. All are individually furnished with wood furniture, Oriental rugs, and long curtains, and feature large en suite bathrooms with heated floors and claw-foot tubs. The hotel’s harborside terrace restaurant serves breakfast and makes for a great spot to watch the comings and goings on the waterfront. After touring the town, guests can further explore the island by hiking in the pine-covered hills, visiting the various wineries, or swimming in the many small coves and bays."

Amazing! Can’t say enough about our stay at the Heritage Villa Apolon hotel! The building is gorgeous, the rooms were spacious, the staff was amazing and Stari Grad is by far, the best place to stay on the Island. And a huge shout out to Chef Kristina who absolutely makes the best bruschetta I’ve ever tasted! You must try it!

We had the best stay at this hotel. Not only is the location great and the rooms are beautiful the host owner, Ante, is incredibly helpful and goes above and beyond to make your stay the best it can be. His suggestions on restaurants and getting around made our stay that much enjoyable. Very knowledgeable about wines and traditional Croatian cuisine was a must try.

My husband and I stayed here during our trip to Croatia and we both decided it was our favorite hotel of the entire trip! For context, we stayed in a boutique hotel in Split and then a very luxury hotel in Dubrovnik but we felt like this had the most character, huge rooms, exceptional service, great breakfast and the staff were genuinely the most kind and helpful staff I've ever come across. One of the staff even drove us to Hvar town during his time off to get us to a tour we had! And on the day we left, we were too early for breakfast but they made us a to-go bag of croissants and sandwiches for the road. Above and beyond!
Separate from the hotel itself, we absolutely adored Stari Grad. We went to Croatia in June and the town of Hvar was absolute mayhem. If you're looking for a party scene, it's great for that. But Stari Grad was so quaint and peaceful and not overcrowded! It's a quieter town but we loved that. And it was only about 20-30 minutes for Hvar which we went to for a day. There's a bus that costs like 5 Euro that will take you directly from Hvar to Stari Grad.
Amazing property, don't hesitate to book!

The family room was large with nice living room and 2 toilets which were large. We had a nice connection with the owner Ante who made us feel at home and welcomed. Staligrad is a nice scenic town away from Hvar with nice restaurants to dine next to the hotel with a waterfront. A definite must to stay here

The terrace was perfect to see the small sailboats come in each day. Right on the main stretch of Stari Grad close to everything. They say location is everything and that couldn’t be more true of Villa Apolon. The historic villa, right on the harbour front of Stari Grad, a stone’s throw from bars and restaurants is absolutely perfect. ||We spent 5 nights at Villa Apolon in the room named Demetra, which for me, was the best room in the hotel as it has the huge balcony on the front where we were able to sit and watch the comings and goings of all the yachts mooring up in the harbour. The bedrooms in the old building have been sympathetically modernised with luxury bathrooms but still retaining charm and character. ||The hotel service was superb, warm and friendly, nothing was too much trouble from the moment we arrived, helping us with bags and parking for our rented car, offering coffee or providing fresh milk for the fridge in our room and giving us some excellent restaurant recommendations. ||Stari Grad itself is a delightful old town, full of beautiful old streets and not at all crowded at the end of the season. This was by far the best part of our holiday on the Dalmatian coast and we hope very much to return.
