The lovely home is huge and nicely furnished. The view of St. John from the back yard and from the widow's watch is wonderful, provided you can see anything when it's not foggy, which is often is. We had the Crowsnest suite and it was a corner of the house with a bedroom, small kitchen, full living room, and an enormous bathroom. The bed was very comfortable. One tiny negative is that they have single-use shampoo and conditioner instead of wall-mounted refillable bottles. The staff was able to accommodate our early morning departure with a to-go breakfast, which was really nice. The sit-down breakfast when we were able to attend was a set menu breakfast, but it was very good eggs Benedict and fruit, and the fruit was arranged in an adorable smiley face, very cute! They also had granola and yogurt and there were always waters and juices in the refrigerator in the lobby, plus coffee and tea. The house is so beautiful and sprawling and it's fun to be able to go up to the widow's watch and sit. It is a historic house, but it has been beautifully updated and maintained. Very nice place.

Lalena welcomed and asked us what time we wanted to eat breakfast (to split the guests into 2 groups), and then it was off to the races (Reversing Falls, to be exact) after we dropped off our luggage. Neil is a fantastic chef and very personable. We love staying in historical hotels and this one dates back to the mid 1800s. Enjoy the free parking and short stroll to downtown. Also recommend Lemongrass if you’re into Thai food.

This inn was my favorite place we stayed on a 2.5-week trip across Canada. It's a beautiful and historic home -- very large -- with all the amenities (bonus: attic widow's watch!). The dining room was possibly my favorite part of the house, and breakfast was SO good. Wish we'd been able to stay more than one night.

This bed and breakfast was very historic in appearance. The room we had was huge and very comfortable. We had a two burner stove, fridge and sink. There was also a large sitting area for guests with tables, games, books and a fireplace. The breakfast was beyond wonderful. The food was plentiful and delicious. We had eggs benedict one morning and French toast the next with sides of fresh fruit plus other sides. The hosts Nick and Lane were very helpful with tv problems and other information.

Had a great stay at this Inn. Owners were very nice, and breakfast was delicious. The most standout part was the cleanliness. Unlike most hotels, the shower and whirlpool tub were absolutely spotless. I didn’t see a single spec of dirt of grime.

The staff were very friendly. Our room was clean and spacious. The breakfast was the best one I have had at a Bed and Breakfast. Lots of fresh fruit and extra, yogurt, oat bites, etc.

A charming classic b and b close to the walking path to downtown St. John. Lots of stairs so if accessibility is important to you it might not be ideal. Breakfast was amazing with breakfast wraps, fresh fruit, coffee and all the fixings.

Stayed for three nights. It's a real family owned operation that puts a lot of care into their B&B, the breakfast is top tier and they will provide you with lots of great local tips for your adventures.

Yelp
Awesome place to stay. It's very historic with a place that is 165 years old. Either one of the attached two houses is equally awesome to stay in. Very clean and the staff is very friendly. The old girls have ages very well.

Yelp
Beautiful house! We stayed in the captain's room on the main floor. Ralph and Joanna our hosts are lovely couple and made us very welcome! The breakfasts were very good, they offered everything: fresh fruit salad, strawberries, muffins, yogurts and a warm breakfast; one day we had almond French toast and another day we had eggs Benedict. Of course plenty of coffee and tea. I would definitely come back!
