Had a great stay at this Inn. Owners were very nice, and breakfast was delicious. The most standout part was the cleanliness. Unlike most hotels, the shower and whirlpool tub were absolutely spotless. I didn’t see a single spec of dirt of grime.

Neil and Lalena are phenomenal hosts! This was so much more than a hotel experience — they welcomed us with open arms despite arriving a bit late and gave our dog the best pets and attention :) You can tell that this couple truly cares about what they do and the people who visit. The room was lovely (especially the bath tub — wow!) and the level of historical knowledge the hosts had was incredible. They helped us find the best spots to see tides, to hike, and to see the sights around town. Plus, the breakfasts seemed so personal and caring, unlike your standard fare. We had an hour-long conversation about hot sauce, dogs, politics, and Canadian history and left feeling so fulfilled. The off-season was quiet and peaceful. Overall an unsurpassable experience — stay here!!

Room was lovely, hosts were considerate and kind. The breakfasts were delicious and fun. We departed before breakfast for the ferry on our checkout day, and we were provided a bagged breakfast waiting for us for the road. Really thoughtful and good service. If it's within your price range I recommend this location for a cozy stay.

The owner, Neil, prepared the most delicious French toast with the freshest fruit ever! He was very friendly and told us all about the history of the home. Our room was clean and had a great view of the harbor. Great location, close to the waterfront but didn't have to fight for parking or traffic. Highly recommend staying here! Books and puzzles and games were there but I sadly didn't notice until we left.

This was supposed to be the best B&B in St.John but apparently has deteriorated under newer ownership. We were greeted in a perfunctory manor, rudely told to chose our breakfast time, limited to between 8&9am, and just given keys to their “best” suite, not shown to the room or told about any of the common facilities. Seems you are supposed to read notices placed all over. The suite was lovely but there was a weird little “kitchen” area without any utensils, dishes, etc., just a stove top and fridge. The bathroom was basic with some black mold on the tiles and very rough skimpy towels. Also, only soap was in the type of plastic dispenser you find in cheap restaurants, with a bag of liquid soap in it. No soap for the bath. The mattress was so bad that after a terrible nights sleep and aching back my husband slept on the sofa in the living area on the second night. The cooked breakfast was tasty but no choices. It would have been nice to have the option of cereals and freshly baked breads, etc. One of the hosts prepared the breakfast and he was very nice but unable to cope with several tables at a time. Apparently his help didn’t show up. The location is great and the home has a lovely feel but the lack of hospitality and a decent mattress made this an average place to stay.

Stayed for two nights. The best breakfast you will ever have at a B&B. Close to Uptown and the Edinburgh feel of the old section. A very historic house that wears it age very well. If you want beige, predictable and boring go to one of the chain hotels. But if enjoy traveling in a dynamic setting and meeting people from all over you would be hard pressed to find a better location.

It's a very nice B&B with excellent innkeepers. Neil and Lalena are great hosts. Lalena was very kind and understanding when we experienced ferry delays. Neil cooks a delicious breakfast, while explaining the history of Saint John and the Homeport B&B...all of which is very interesting! The room is clean and comfortable with period furnishings. We had a nice harbor view. The stairs are a little challenging, but that's part of the inn's charm.

Wonderful stay in a nice B&B. Nice quite location a walk to the reversing falls and over looks the harbor. Very nice and clean room. Spacious common areas. Great breakfast. Only negative was no air conditioning but room cooled down nicely in the evening. Enjoyed the stay and would definitely stay again.

Yelp
Awesome place to stay. It's very historic with a place that is 165 years old. Either one of the attached two houses is equally awesome to stay in. Very clean and the staff is very friendly. The old girls have ages very well.

Yelp
Beautiful house! We stayed in the captain's room on the main floor. Ralph and Joanna our hosts are lovely couple and made us very welcome! The breakfasts were very good, they offered everything: fresh fruit salad, strawberries, muffins, yogurts and a warm breakfast; one day we had almond French toast and another day we had eggs Benedict. Of course plenty of coffee and tea. I would definitely come back!
