We specifically booked this B&B Hotel based on its excellent position and our positive experiences at other B&B locations across Europe (Mantua and Pomezia to say the latest 2). Regrettably, this stay was deeply disappointing.
The hotel's environmental claims are overshadowed by poor service, reaching levels of absurd greenwashing that directly impact guest comfort.
- Initial Cleanliness: Three out of four rooms booked were not adequately cleaned prior to our arrival.
- Cleaning Policy: The policy stating rooms "are not cleaned because hosts don't need it on a daily basis" forced us to actively request the service, which was ultimately ineffective.
- Room Temperature: Rooms were excessively hot. We had to resort to switching off the heating and opening the window, which negates any claimed environmental benefit from the no-cleaning policy.
- Refund Delay: A clear error during check-in led to us being charged a pet fee, despite confirming the dog was not with us. Two days later, after being directed through multiple steps (colleague, email), we are still waiting for supervisor "Sharon" to process the refund.
- Technical Issue: Our key card had to be re-magnetized twice, suggesting outdated equipment.
On the positive side:
The location is outstanding, and nearby parking is convenient. The breakfast was a highlight, offering great variety, though options for gluten-free and non-cow's dairy products were limited.
