B&B Hotel Madrid Centro Plaza Mayor

Clean hotel and really helpful friendly staff. The coffee room in the basement was a lovely addition, as was the little bag with waters and sweet treats hung on our door each morning. Room was basic but what we needed. The noise from the water pipes was loud though when neighbouring rooms ran their taps, shower or toilet. Bathroom was small for two getting ready but manageable. Biggest issue was the shower that leaked badly onto the floor, no matter how you angled the little glass panel. There was free safe in the too. That was very useful. There was a fridge but it wasn't cold. Black out curtains were fantastic, especially for someone who needs real darkness to sleep. Great position to walk to many sites and the metro.

We had a wonderful stay at this hotel! The location is excellent — very convenient and easy to access all the main attractions in Madrid. The reception staff were helpful and friendly, making us feel welcome right from the start.Our room was clean, spacious, and comfortable. What impressed us most was the thoughtful touch of a light breakfast (muffins and buns) provided every morning — such a sweet gesture! On top of that, the lobby has a station offering complimentary coffee, hot chocolate, juice, cookies, and fruits. It was lovely to relax there and enjoy some snacks after a long day of sightseeing.Overall, this hotel exceeded our expectations. We truly enjoyed our stay and will definitely come back again on our next trip to Madrid.

It left much to be desired. We stayed in a small blue room that was tight for two people. I thought many things could be improved in terms of cleanliness. The place has a very outdated feel. Upon entering we could see a lot of scuff marks on the wall. The biggest issue was a sewer smell in the bathroom. The smell wasn’t an issue once you close the door or took a shower because I think the steam helped lighten the smell. However it wasn’t a light smell during some mornings.

We chose this hotel for the walking distance to the old city. It was an excellent location choice. We were able to access dozens of restaurants and historical sights all around our hotel. We recommend the corner room with multiple windows if you are claustrophobic as the other rooms we saw were quite small. Our 3 windows that opened were delightful and provided a feeling of roominess. One thing to note, we thought we had paid for breakfast but determined at arrival that no breakfast was included which was disappointing. However, we did like the coffee machine in the coffee room very much. And although we do not eat pastries for breakfast, there was a bag with water and pastries on our door handle each morning.

I loved the fact that the TV in the room didn’t just show local stations. Invariably when you stay in hotels there’s local language stations only and the only English language stations are 24 hour news channels - something I would not be interested in on holiday ! However, at this hotel, there was a chrome cast streaming service that allowed me to stream from my IPhone YouTube channels to the widescreen TV - excellent ! I was able to watch an opera gala on the Saturday evening which linked in with my interests !!!

It overall was a good hotel. We got a free breakfast with 2 croissants and 2 donuts. The showers however took very long to get warm.

We booked the junior suite and it was incredible. The views from the patio were amazing, the pastries in the morning were delicious, and it was in the perfect location with Plaza Mayor and San Miguel Market just around the corner. We would love to come back here again!

Loved the minimalist approach and the super helpful front desk. Also loved the coffee corner with house and fruit 24/7. Two issues: the smell from a deodorizer in the room was overwhelming and sickening. Other issue was that scaffolding blocked our windows. Way too expensive this weekend.
