Where to Stay in Milan When You Visit in 2025

"This three-star hotel offers simple, light-filled rooms with desks, smart TVs, and bathrooms with walk-in showers and bidets; the breakfast buffet is quite varied for the price (9.50 EUR) with lots of pastries and fresh orange juice, making it a great-value central option for first-time visitors who don't want to overspend." - Matthew Kepnes

The 6 Best Hotels in Milan (Updated 2025)

"Located in Centro Storico, this three-star hotel offers simple, bright, airy rooms with large-scale photographs of Milan on the walls and plenty of natural light from large windows; beds are really comfortable and rooms include a desk, flatscreen TV, and wardrobe. Bathrooms are on the smaller side but have walk-in showers and bidets. I especially like the varied breakfast buffet with lots of pastries and fresh orange juice (the buffet costs 9.50 EUR), and there’s a rooftop terrace with great views plus a little snack bar downstairs—overall great value for central first-time visitors." - Matthew Kepnes

Very happy with our 1 night stay. The hotel is in a quiet area, close to the metro, tram and Santa Maria delle Grazie. Hotel staff were welcoming and helpful. The hotel & standard room is modern, clean, spacious, light & airy. Bed & pillow comfort was ok, a little on the soft side for my personal preference. Reception staff quickly resolved an issue we had with the room safe not locking. We chose a rate with breakfast included. The choice of hot & cold foods, pastries, fruit, fresh juices, etc., was excellent. There are a nice variety of restaurants in the area. We would stay at this hotel again and consider this chain in other destinations.

Perfect and safe location to explore Milan. I loved walking around the neighbourhood, and if you enjoy exploring on foot, you can easily reach all the main points of interest from here. The staff is lovely and welcoming, and the self check-in at night makes arrival quick and stress-free, avoiding the usual back-and-forth to organise check-in. The bed was very comfortable, and the room was quiet, which made for a great night’s rest.

Very happy with our one night stay here. Check in was easy with a manned reception. The room was spacious and clean, though it appeared a little sparse. Bed was very comfortable. Bathroom was good with toiletries and towels provided. Breakfast was fantastic for the price! There is a small lounge area which looked pleasant and self service vending machines for drinks etc. The location was good, not immediately central but we were easily able to walk to the main tourist areas of the city. There is a Metro station close by if required.

Spacious, Quiet, and Comfortable Stay. Our room was very clean and spacious, and the hotel is located in a quiet area—perfect for a restful stay. It’s a bit far from the main tourist spots, which we knew when booking, so it’s ideal if you prefer a more peaceful setting. Breakfast was included and offered a good variety of options. The staff was helpful throughout our stay. Overall, a great choice for comfort and tranquility away from the busy tourist areas.

I recently stayed at this hotel and, unfortunately, it did not meet my expectations. The room was very small and felt cramped for the price we paid. We were only given one towel initially, and later discovered a second one hidden in a bag — which was quite inconvenient. Housekeeping was also disappointing. Our room wasn't cleaned while we were out sightseeing, and when we returned around 2 PM, the housekeeper came to clean. When we asked her politely to return in 30 minutes, she responded with something in Italian that felt dismissive or unprofessional. Another major downside is the lack of parking. The hotel doesn’t have its own parking and instead offers an external option for €30 per night — which I found quite expensive, especially considering the room size and overall experience. Additionally, the bed was not comfortable, making it hard to get a good night’s sleep. The only real positive I can mention is the location. It’s well-situated and convenient for getting around Milan, which we appreciated. Overall, I wouldn’t recommend this hotel unless you’re only staying for a night and value location above all else.

I went to Milan in August without much advanced booking. There are certainly budget accommodations in hostels nearer to the centre that I might have booked if I had had more notice and there was more availability, but I booked this one because it was reasonably priced and still within walking distance of the centre.|This is a basic budget hotel. It's like a hostel except of the private rooms and bathrooms. Nothing fancy about it but it had everything that I needed. It was a short walk into the centre, such as to the Duomo and quite close to the place where you can view the Last Supper.|My room was comfortable and had what I needed. It had a safe, it had Wi-Fi, and hot water in the bathroom. There was a little kitchen and a vending machine.|Maybe not the place to stay if you're doing your dream vacation to Milan but, if you just need a place to sleep, this is pretty good.|The staff at reception were very nice and helpful.

We’ve spent 1 night in a deluxe room. The small terrace was nice, the bed was of good quality and the room was clean. The overall state of the room was a bit ‘old and used’, but we still had all comfort we needed. Only 1 small downside, it was difficult to shower without having the water all over the bathroom floor.

Enjoyed our stay at the B&B Hotel Milan Sant’Ambrogio. The hotel was very convenient to our intended locations to visit in Milan. The hotel staff was friendly and professional and very helpful with restaurants and directions. The room had all the needed amenities and beds were comfortable. Would stay at this location in future visits.

Yelp
The upsides to this place are that it's clean, very modern and fairly reasonably priced. Rooms are very neat with modern colorful and graphic decor. Each floor is color coded with similar striking graphics and grayscale photos that include colored sections that match the decor. Rooms have small fridges and a decent size tv (if that's important to you) There's a skeleton crew of staff that seem friendly enough but not overtly so. The downsides are the rooms are pretty small and there is no view whatsoever out the window. I'm not talking about a view of the alleyway or the car park, I'm talking about a 3 foot tall piece of frosted glass that blocks any view for anyone under 7 feet tall! Now there's not much to see outside on the front of the hotel but on the backside (west side) where my room was located was a nice park with a soccer field , playground and benches. Not sure why I wouldn't want to see that. but still, that's a new one for me. The biggest problem IMHO is that that pace is kinda in the middle of nowhere. It's 30 min walking to the cathedral and the shops near there and other than the Basilica di Sant'Ambrogio there really isn't much nearby in any direction. If you've got a car or are familiar with the metro ( there is a nearby stop) this might be more appealing but if you like to explore on foot there may be better options for you.
