This B&B is located on a quiet street only a block and a half from the tram line. Each room in this house has it's own unique color scheme. We stayed in the pink room on the 1st floor. The window looked out over the street where we could watch people coming and going on foot or on bikes. The pink room featured a comfortable double bed with two gigantic pillows and a duvet, a wardrobe with pink fuzzy accents and pink coat hangers. There were two mismatched pink chairs and a desk. Two bedside tables with lamps and a small table just big enough to support a fuzzy pink lamp and my power converter used to charge electronic devices. There was only one European style electric outlet available in the room. Don't let the old world charm fool you, Christoph has 5G wi-fi for guests.||Airflow was an issue, but not impossible to manage. Keeping our guest room door open, opening the back door and our front window allowed a nice breeze through to cool the rooms down. Our window was an old style double-acting window, but I could never get it to tilt in. The windows have no insect screens, but there were no insects to speak of either. There is also a euro-style, rolling metal shutter on the front window which provided some room darkening and privacy.||We only met co-owner Christoph, but he's a very nice guy and a great source of information when needing directions, suggestions or other information.||During our stay, we were the only guests staying on the 1st floor so a shared bathroom was not an issue. Each morning Christoph rode his bike to a store and purchased food. We opted to have our breakfast outside on a small terrace in front of the house (see photo). Breakfast consisted of an assortment of breads with butter or three delicious types of preserves, cheese, various yogurts, cereals, coffee and orange juice. It made a light, but satisfying breakfast. There is also a small secluded area behind the house and a kitchen which could host a similar breakfast. ||We felt very much at home there and all-in-all it was a charming place to stay in Basel.
