I deliberately didn't book our room at Miracolo di Mare via booking.com but the hotel's website in order for the hotel not to pay commission to booking.com. On the hotel's website they promiss to give a 10% discount when booking via their website, what I did. But when I paid the bill, they didn't give the discount which I didn't realize first. I then asked for the discount when checking out, and first the receptionist miscalculated the discount and then, when I mentioned this to her, she revised the calculation. She asked for my bank details and promised to send me the discount to my bank account. This was more than 1 month ago. Since I didn't receive the payment in my bank account, I sent them an e-mail reminder to which I didn't get any answer. I'm very disappointed, particularly because I wanted to do the hotel a favour and cut out the middleman - and then they didn't give the discount as promised.
In addition to this, as already mentioned by others: the rooms are very small and ours was quite dark with a small window. Since it was raining both of the mornings, we couldn't use the courtyard and the breakfast buffet was served in shifts in the very small and cramped reception area.
